This poor girl, murdered while five people watched and did nothing to help her, crying alone and then falling over. After coming to America to flee the war in Ukraine and start a new life, not realizing that our cities are more dangerous than war zones.

I've seen the video. She sits down in front of the guy. He pulls out a knife and stabs her. She sits there bleeding. He walks around the train with the bloody knife dripping. He says "I got that white girl". She bleeds out and dies.

Mental health care in the US is disaster. This guy was a well known full blown untreated schizophrenic completely divorced from reality, even his mom said he should have never been able to walk free

We closed all all the psychiatric hospitals in the 70s and never funded the community health centers that were supposed to take their place so now we have to wait for something like this to happen for it for it to become the prison systems problem.

It's completely fucked that the prison system has become the largest psychiatric institution in the US and it's just getting worse. We expect underpaid cops to respond to these people that have zero grasp on reality and might as well be wild animals, and then we act shock when somebody ends up getting shot

I don't have much hope it will. Her being a refugee escaping a worn torn country and the whole thing being on video will spread awareness but this type of thing is far too common. We're on different ends of the political spectrum (I know this forum has a no-politics rule, I like that rule and I'm not trying to break it). I find it interesting how we both don't have a desire to bring children into the world as it currently is. For similar reasons too. Her reasons are just viewed more through the lens of her political leanings and my reasons are viewed from another political lens/filter.
