The NBA 2K25 release date and cover stars have been revealed

They lost their Artistic vision.

This is what happens when vital talent leaves and you are left with people who know how to "technically" make a videogame but lack the creative vision to bring it all together in a perfect cohesion. The older game looks miles better in terms of just about everything except resolution and a few minor details.
Skimming the video, NBA25 character faces look bad. And Lebron looks like he went on a giant diet. And the arenas got a faded look to it. Crazy that a 10 year old game looks better.

Although one thing the newer games look better.... the eyeballs. NBA14 has much worse zombie eyeballs.

Also, I wouldn't be surprised if they drastically reduced the budget for the core game and shifted a large portion of it into the online/casino simulation mode.

They had people that actually went to the different stadiums to capture their lighting and animators that spent hard work simulating the cloth physics. Those funds probably disappeared.

Your daily reminder that the WNBA is operating at a $50 million yearly loss and probably should have been shut down a long time ago.
Attendance and viewership has been growing rather rapidly though. Losses will likely continue or even grow as they expand. That isn't exactly unusual. 2023->2024->205 has seen some good growth, killing it now would be a rather poor business decision.

Not to mention there are many products that are loss leaders for corporations, but they keep investing in it because they see the long-term growth. This isnt abnormal for corporations to do.

It's SAD the sports genre which I grew up primarily playing as a kid has turned into a pay to win shit show
NBA 2K is probably the worst for that shit. First, you can pay anywhere from £70 to £130 for the game, and then if you want to max out a player, it's roughly around £80. You can now buy up to level 40, and there are also season passes. It's getting out of hand. The problem is... the 2K community allows it. They should stop giving 2K easy money if they want a better product.

What the hell? First watching the WNBA is worse than watching my grandson play at the city league.

Second you put a woman who is about 30th in scoring, 30th for blocks and over 70 percent of rebounds are her own bricks. That's some humiliating and embarrassing stuff and makes an already horrible league, look worse.

That would be putting Darius Garland on the cover for the men. I can only laugh.
