Amazing considering they dismissed India for peanuts in 3 out of 4 innings.

Khawaja, Maxwell, Henriques, Cartwright, Ferguson, Bailey, Lehmann

Apparently Cummins and Bird couldn't even get the ball above waist height on the practice pitches and the Australian Team has described it as the most ridiculous pitch they have ever seen.
 
Probably gonna jinx him here but Renshaw really is very good. How the selectors had the mind to put this fresh youngster in the national team, but somehow manage to fail on many other obvious selecting decisions, I don't know.
 
A Marsh failure. Who'd have thunk it. Maxwell doesn't look particularly comfortable here either. It's not a great batting line up, especially with Starc not there. Still think Hanscomb is coming in one too high. I suppose it would help if he wasn't coming in 3 down for around 100.
 
Khawaja in for Smarsh please. Also no one put the mockers on Maxwell (have I just done it?)!

EDIT: Dare I say....all this IPL experience paying off for Maxwell...???
 
Wow bad luck for MMarsh that this young newbie Maxwell has given such a strong performance. If it wasn't for his injury MMarsh would totally be putting in this level of batting!
 
It's actually kinda funny that the one test they went into without a milquetoast medium fast trundler they picked a spearhead that can barely get through a game.

I guarantee there will be a major collapse. Maxwell will get out playing a one legged reverse sweep or something. Shaun Marsh will torture us all for 50 balls and make 9.

This team is really frustrating. Smith and Renshaw are the only two consistent batsmen. Lyon goes from taking 8/50 to 1/240 in his next two innings. Wade is perpetually mediocre. For some reason we picked an inanimate rod at number 6 for the first two tests. Handscomb will be better for the experience but he's got no clue on these wickets.

I didn't see Warner's innings last night but considering that we need to bat out the day to draw and that he got out for 14 off 16 balls I'm guessing it was a dumb innings. If by some miracle we manage to save this test I hope they drop him for Khawaja. Warner is having an absolute shocker.

This test match is much more like what we were expecting coming into the series. The Australian camp kept talking about it - on a wicket like this, 450 isn't enough. You have to bat a full two days. It's hard to do that with a 3 man batting line up.
 
Sadly I agree with you. Warner was poor last night. He was lucky not get caught after he spooned a shot that went for four. His technique gets exposed in more trying conditions and against better bowling attacks. It's laughable some people suggest he's Australia's greatest opener. I would rank him below Justin Langer.
 
Black Caps lost the test in the first innings when they let SA lower order especially that Bavuma fellow get so many rungs. He looks like a great find for SA.

Bangladesh win their first test away from home, big moment for them. To be honest, Srilanka is trash.

Warner is a very poor opener. He shouldnt be picked outside of Australia.
