glad to heard people isn't stupid anymore
Hi, there I am, looking for some Rev points to earn.
E3 is pretty close and this year it's gona be especial. Everyone knows: second generation games for X360, 3rd generation of DS and PSP, the last pearls for current generation and the incoming start of PS3 and Revolution itself. That's a pretty lot of things.
But this time I'm going to dive into another issue. We know that Nintendo Revolution is said to be a system quite "underpowered", but I have another idea of what that means.
Broadway and Hollywod, tha capital of entertainment and the capital of movie industry, those two are the codenames of the CPU and the GPU for Revolution. Meanwhile were getting reports of underpowered Rev kits based on Nintendo GameCube, we know of some tidbits of information quite interesting from Nintendo itself.
Firts of, there's a classic: "you will say wow" wich were tell by Iwata's lips. We can check current generation of games and look at the best graphics, and yeah, some are continusously saying WOW (Panzer Dragoon Orta, Wind Waker in some moments, Resident Evil 4, Shadow of the Colossus, Conker and Star Fox Adventures, and a lot more).
Of course, a tree times more powerful system could paint a much more prettier graphics in current standard definition, but there's a lot of other things to take care. In those 4 to 5 years there are some tecniques developed wich make easier and cost efective to make great visuals and Nintendo has pattented some, like the "cube mapping tecnique" (or as it's named) wich on the pattent explains that on a simple cube could be done a world with defined floating points for colision, doing a pre-rendered background to move like a complete 3D world (and the user able to interact at every level).
Then, Nintendo anounces something diferent. They're gona for NEW IP's and MOVIES, and I think of how many times I said Wind Waker should have been used for a TV series or a Animation Movie. That's the extend point.
The extend point, wich means that the system could get more far than the defined gaming system know as now. I see clearly, Nintendo doing the prettiest games they ever done, and porting them to the cinema, wich could have been done with Wind Waker itself (with added voice acting and a redone camera).
Games "based on a license" (¿or may I say games that licenses into movies?) that will suply the needs of new IP's and comercial games that Nintendo lacked back those 4 years. That's the ideal way for restore those high financials needed for doing those big and pretty games.
Will Nintendo infest the Movie industry with his whole theme "powerfull isn't needed, design it's the key", or they will stay in the same way they are?. Where too close to know it.
I hope you enjoyed the read (I'm doing my best)
