Wow they're really hammering the possible infidelity

Its Pam and Roy all over again.

Oh Brian you're my hero!

The worst thing about this is that it's too late to stop it, like they did with Kalinda's husband storyline on the Good Wife. Time to watch a show with a little more thought put into it. It's time for a new (sort of) episode of Hercules: the Legendary Journeys on the Hub.

I enjoyed seeing Sensei Ira, and thought both episodes were pretty decent.

But they went from zero to 100 on this boom operator guy Brian.

My favorite part of this week's episodes? Remembering the people last week who kept saying that they weren't going in this direction and Brian was just comforting Pam as a friend.

Honestly, the show had some terrible moments over the past couple years but this is EASILY the worst it has been. Not even close.

This was unbelievably bad.

Why the hell does everyone thing Pam's going to sleep with Brian, or that was even implied? The documentary crew's been filming them for years, you think they don't have any connection to the characters, or that they realize when things get way too personal? Dude was just comforting her, sheesh.

You guys are letting your imaginations run away from you. It was simply supposed to be an unexpected, touching moment, as well as set up to see more of the film crew as they shut down production.

this.

and this.

i don't know why everyone thinks they're gonna be banging, or some infidelity storyline, i didn't even think towards that until i saw all the posts in this thread. i just see it as a means for the doc crew to finally start to wrap up their production. they've gotten so close to their 'subjects' over the years it's starting to cross a line that they no longer feel comfortable documenting certain aspects of their lives.

How anyone can extract a hint of infidelity between sound dude and Pam in this past episode's ending is beyond me.

Do guys assume that any time a female has any sort of contact with a male, it means she must be fucking him? He was just consoling her.

Seriously.

+1.

I can't believe how much people are reading into that. The camera crew guy was just being supportive. They aren't screwing.

Yep, clearly married women can't have any male friends. All cheating whores, they are.
Yeesh.

I think I am just going to finally stop watching if you guys are saying what I think you are saying. The cold opening was dumb enough bringing back the Brian stuff, but if they are explicitly saying they had or are having an affair, I am not wasting my time with this show for another minute longer.

The ideal ending for the show has always been that Pam somehow ends up with me.

This was always a pretty crazy dream...but now, I'm starting to think it could really happen.

After last week I was thinking I was done with the show, even though there's only a bit left, I can't take this crap anymore. I didn't watch today's episodes, but seeing the reactions in here has only reinforced my choice =/

The whole Boom Mike Brian plot wouldn't be as bad if it had been more gradually introduced. Inventing a character like that in the last half-season of a show is such a terrible idea.

Other than that, I actually liked the other plots from tonight's two episodes. Felt like solid Office humor, probably because Andy is thankfully still gone.

That was great. At the beginning of the episode they show that there isn't anything going on with them. They're just friends. Pam asked about Brian's girlfriend.

But then at the end of the episode it's like what's this?! Could there possibly be something?! And then cut to Jim talking about being a good roommate or some shit.

haha, this show...

The locker room Pam and Brian were talking in doesn't actually exist.

That doorway actually opens up into the exit of the set, out the door onto the parking lot. To the right (basically directly across from the 'lockers') is the green room. They built that fake room specifically for this ep.. my wife and I kinda laughed out loud when they panned out to reveal which door it was, cuz we were there!

The wall that was behind pam was blocking a glass door looking out into the production parking lot.

edit: the boom bump and all that shit was.. ugh. And his goofy eyes when Jim's VO was going.. double ugh.

I need a brain wiping device from MIB. Just erase the last two seasons from my brain, the show is over. I'm gunna watch the writers fuck this corpse next week out of pure morbidity.

you guys should've just stopped watching this show the moment season 4 ended, like any sane person would've. storylines wrapped nicely in a bow around then.

Don't come in here with your rational thought. We're watching The Office.

How clueless do you have to be to not think that's where this shit was going? Show has sucked for a while and will continue until they finally put it out of its misery.

I still don't think Pam is going to sex boom mic guy at all.

But certainly Jim might become a little suspicious or jealous, since tonight it was clear that Pam felt a little distant after their last fight.

Fuck, you're gonna be right.

You mean Hunter? Jan's assistant from.. Oh what's that show? The Office?

Ha! Was about to say the same. He was even mentioned a few episodes again.

So, I didn't see the episode yet, but that bad, huh? Two "possible cheating" sub-plots involving the same couple, in back to back seasons... pretty fucking lazy. The abruptness of this one makes it that much worse.

Can't believe The Office can simultaneously be one of my favorite shows and one of my most reviled.

BTW, there appears to only be a 2~ hour driving distance between Scranton and Philly. Jim just started his p/t Philly thing and makes regular visits back and forth. Pam would have to be a truly horrible person to suddenly decide she wants to cheat and ruin her family. And still really bad writing if we're simply being "misled" towards some unforeseen twist.
