what's with all the scranton strangler speculation, didn't they just give it closure? tobey was wrong, the right guy is in prison and just strangled tobey...

This has probably been pointed out by others awhile ago but, Pam is now Jim's Roy. Roy wanted to be dumb and boring and never wanted pam to chase her dreams. Jim encouraged Pam to chase her dreams (failed-ish) Now Jim is chasing his dreams and Pam is being dumb and boring. What a bitch!

Loved Andy at the end, meh on Dwight and Angela story.

Damn that was an wellrounded great episode!
The romances were funny, charming, and disturbing at the same time and holy shit at Saul Goodman x Michael Scott

BTW who is this guy on the bottom right? trying to remember where i've seen him before

The episode to me does highlight why "The Farm" probably never made it off the ground.

Because the Dwight/Angela bits were terrible. He only works with people like Jim and Michael around him. I had to fast forward.

Why is everything out of Gabe's mouth utterly hilarious?

Touch it, it's like a warm pumpkin.

I don't have the lung capacity to blow a whistle. - I might have woken the dead, I laughed so loud at this.

And pete had a great line in that scene as well - I just wanna be real clear, chop sticks is not the measure of a man.

I'm kind of amazed at how they managed to turn a failed pilot into a good Office episode. But I'm bummed that Jim and Pam's relationship is unraveling.

Pete had some great expressions in the conference room scene whenever Gabe said something utterly ridiculous. Especially loved his laugh when Erin revealed Gabe got a Nike swoosh tattoo haha

The actor who plays Gabe has great comedic chops; better than much of the cast. Lots of people seemed to dislike the character, but for me, he was always one of the bright spots in the otherwise disappointing seasons he was part of.

I loved his reaction to the lung capacity line.

Doesn't this feel good guys?! Talking positive about the office! I miss this. Too many bitter tears in this thread as of late. Hopefully this is a turning point and it ends strong.

And I definitely feel like Michael is making an appearance. They've made it a point not to mention him much, if at all. Then all of a sudden he's referenced rather heavily. Something is going on there.

Meh ending to a great episode.

Yep. Amazing how much old Andy vs new jerk Andy makes a difference. This felt like an episode during the prime of the show. Michael Scott clone was hilarious, and it was great to see Gabe again. Just wish we had ended the Pam and Jim drama on this episode. Kind of get the feeling Jim is going to back to Scranton.

It's interesting how Pam always gets invested in these exciting ventures (ie: Art school, mural, office manager) only to see her hopes and dreams almost always come crashing down to reality. Didn't she eventually leave Art School, something that she was really excited about, to return to Scranton. It would be a pity if she expected Jim to do the same thing now that he's invested in something exciting. Their relationship is dysfunctional as fuck, and it's real, but doesn't necessarily make for compelling, or funny, television.

Completely agree. I always felt like a loner when everyone was talking about how terrible Gabe was and I thought he was hilarious.

So what are the chances the last episode (or last few) is about the office finally being showing on TV in their fictional universe & each of the characters become famous for this show, or something like that?

Could be. They hinted the actual show was coming last night.

I just assumed the finale was going to be them watching the pilot and us getting to see their reactions. That 18 year old WAZZAAAAP bit is going to fail hard.

I'd prefer a more drastic jump into the future though - like 5-10 years post documentary. Stanley retired, Toby suicided, Kelly really fat, Ryan homeless, Michael and Holly with two kids, Meredith in jail, Creed on tour, Dwight full time farmer, whatever.

Imagine if Brian Baumgartner had been acting in a fat suit for the past two seasons and the finale jumps into the future to reveal a skinny Kevin.

Isn't Pam being a bit irrational? Jim has a better job and actually enjoys what hes doing. What exactly is back at Scranton?

Also, isn't Jim currently working Pro-bono? I thought the whole reason he was working so hard was to get a financial backer so they can start to pay employees.

I actually think i'd be funnier if after they wrap on the finale, he starts to talk like his normal every day self and not Kevin from the office and we find out that it was all a joke and that he is not stupid at all.

He talked normal in season 1, he gradually made the voice stupider as the series went on.

Reminds me of season 1 when the gossip started spreading around the office that someone was getting let go.

Angela: Who do you think it is?
Kevin: I'm not sure?
Angela: I hope its not me!
Kevin: Yeah, its probably you.

Yeah, Kevin wasn't really developed as a character for the first season and a half, nor was Kelly or Meredith or Phyllis. Even Stanley took some time to fully emerge as the grumpy old man.

And now Kevin is

a full on retarded person.

Saul is a perfect Michael Scott, unlike Andy, who just received his scripts. Show would have been MUCH better with him in the office. The way they morphed Andy into Michael Scott just annoys me, everything he does is out of character.

Gabe killed it in this episode. Loved everything he did.

The conference room scene was pretty amusing.

I also think Pam had a great moment ("Uh, not on a three-month boat trip!") and probably the worst moment of the episode ("Wow! He's like Michael Scott!").

Holy shit that would have been amazing. They should have backed up the Brinks truck to Odenkirk's house. Would have totally saved the series.

Just taking a quick look at Google maps Philly and Scranton are about 2 hours apart. They could move to Allentown and they'd both be about an hour away from their jobs. The tone of the dinner convo they had made it seem like Jim wanted to move half way across the country.

Yup. The whole thing is pretty laughable when you consider the distance. People travel an hour or two into Toronto for work everyday. It's not ideal but not unheard of.

She returns to Scranton saying that she missed it and actually hated graphic design. They didn't really go into it much after that. All I know is I'm going to personally attack the writers if they end up breaking Jim and Pam apart after all these seasons.

Seriously. How long have some of these characters been heading to and from NYC to the corporate office over the years? :lol

I'm kinda disappointed with this episode because it was actually good. And I don't just mean by "current Office" standards. I mean it was actually good on its own right.

Bob Odenkirk was so great. A lot of the humor inside the office was well-written. I'm still trying to figure out if it was actually an episode of The Office that I watched and not some other show that isn't terrible. I hope they go back to putting out one worse episode than the next, or else I might start legitimately enjoying this show again. I was having way more fun with it when it was terrible.

I think a good bulk of this season should have been them reacting to the show. We have to remember that they've never seen the footage they AREN'T involved in so there would be a lot of "THAT'S how that happened?!" situations which could've been interesting. Like Wallace finding out how SOL the Michael Scott paper company was before they were bought out. Or the Prince Family Paper company situation coming to light. There are other examples but those are the only ones that come to mind right now.

Easily the best episode so far. Andy plot was annoying at first but really picked up in the second half. Dwight/Angela shit was boring, good thing the farm got cancelled. Going to sound harsh but Pam's being a bitch. She's turning into Michael Scott. He never wanted to leave the office. He found Holly and finally realized he needs to move on with his life.

She's afraid of change but come on. This is the most cliche plot in fucking television. There's going to be no happy ending. Jim will be miserable with his boring job at Scranton or Pam will hate living in Philly. Pam has failed at pretty much everything besides being a good mom. Don't think they'll go down the divorce route because it wouldn't make much sense. Either Jim will cave for Pam or vice versa.

Yeah, this whole plot is making Pam look bad. The ad at the end was cool. Getting the vibe the last episode will reunite the entire cast for the "premiere".

I'm gonna be disappointed when they don't do this now.

I feel like they want Pam and Jim to border on divorce, but it's all happening way too fast.

What? They're having their first on-camera, prolonged, halfway realistic married couple disagreement in five years. It's a far cry from divorce and it's definitely not happening too fast. Real life couples go through this shit all the time. The fact that Jim and Pam's relationship has been a sky blue, unrealistic fairy tale for 5 years might make this minor argument seem more dire than it is in contrast. For the first time since about season 4, Jim and Pam seem real. I'd prefer to watch them fight for each other than continue having everything go absolutely perfect.

Oh wow -- what if they DO go that route, and then they get together to watch the premiere, and >sob< it brings them back together???

Oh god, I can't wait for this to end. I'll stick with it, because I have so far, but I have hated this season's writing.

Had its moments. Ending with Pam and Jim and the rest still feels too much like filler. They could have cut the series down to say 16 episodes and trimmed a lot of it...but what can you do.

Nice. I enjoyed parts of the episode, like the ex-couples bickering in the boardroom, and Pam's job interview with a Michael Scott type boss. The Dwight/Angela and Toby/Nellie/Strangler parts were thoroughly uninteresting though. And what happened to Brian, the boom guy? Such an awkwardly inserted subplot.
