The Office: Final Season |OT| It's better to burn out than it is to rust

Im not into the finale all that much tbh. The wind down has deflated my interest in the show I used to love.
I'll continue to watch reruns of episodes ive seen dozens of times though.
Watching these last couple seasons has been difficult to say the least.
To me the characters have been overshadowed by the actors portraying them.
Once they start getting famous and being in movies I have a hard time seeing them as their office characters.its weird I know.

So what do we want out of the finale?

I'm hoping for:

* Jim and Pam go off to Philly and the company is doing really well. Pam also gets a real career in the process, hopefully something art related.
* Michael and Holly show up briefly, and have a child.
* Jim and Dwight share a nice moment.
* Michael gives Toby one last put down

I'm prepared to deal with if it is short:

* Dwight and Angela getting happily married.

Crazy wishlist

* Creed revealed as an actor put into the show for comic relief
* No Andy. He gets killed in the into or something.
* No Angela
* Dwight marries the farm chick instead.
* Kevin goes off to seek help for his illness.

I've been watching more of the early episodes. It's amazing how much better it was.

The last couple episodes have been endearing but can't redeem 3 seasons of terribleness. I'll watch it. The Office is one of the longest shows I've ever watched (every episode aside from some this season that I couldn't bare after reading how bad it was). Anyways, I hope this episode caps it off. Recaps a lot, gives us endings to everyone, and moves on.

I am glad that tied up Dwight, and gave him a great, well-deserved ending. I treat Dwight similar to what happened with Dwight and Pam. Towards the end, I wanted to see Dwight succeed.

For me, the show went downhill as soon as they added Erin. After adding Erin, it went from the Tallahassee BS with Gabe, to the absolute awful Robert California to Andy becoming so unlikeable that it wasn't even funny.

I hope this is a redeeming episode. I don't know how to tie up Andy's stuff because he's become so annoying, but I hope to see a few resolutions and while I doubt it, Michael coming back for one last hurrah.

Finale spoilers:

They've released (one of?) the opening scene(s), Jim is definitely still working at Dunder Mifflin when Darryl returns to town--this is six months in the future. Jim is doing Dwight's Bachelor party (he is Dwight's Besch Mensch). Dwight and Angela will get married--the only reason they split them up was to setup Dwight to leave for The Farm. Andy is there, he shows up at the same time as Darryl.

Wait, so its not a 2 hour finale? Its just like an hour of looking back and then an hour of actual show? They really didn't advertise that well.

They really didn't. I thought for sure it was 80 mins of finale tonight.

Two years too late, but it should be interesting to see how they close it down. Something terrible happening to Andy would be nice. He's insufferable.

Retrospective. Clips and interviews and looking back. A few minutes ago it was all about the multiple relationships on the show.

Edit: And now Michael just kissed Oscar. They're talking about how it's a lot of improvisation.

Oh, and now a preview just spoiled that
Ryan and Kelly have a babby.
Thanks a bunch, NBC you morons.

As soon as this is over, I do believe I am going to start a marathon. And yes, I will be watching the entirety of season 1. As well as all of season 8 and 9. I'm in it for the long haul. All or nothing. Can't wait. Haven't watched a Michael Scott episode since he left 2 years ago.

I still can't believe that the final episode will air in just a few minutes from now. I've been a die hard fan since day one, and was a die hard fan of the UK show before even this series. No matter the drop in quality, and the overall change after Michael left, and the big mistake they made with giving Andy the manager job instead of letting it be an entire season of Dwight as manager and Jim as his second...I'll still miss this show so much. My ringtone has been the theme song since I got my iPhone, and I'm such a huge fan that everyone that knows me connects me with the show.

Blah, oh well. This was one of those special shows in my opinion, way up on the upper level of quality. There are few like this, overall, and even fewer that I end up loving so much, even in the bad times.

Here we go...

Should spoilers be marked from this point forward? The west coast still has a good 3 hours to go. Those on the east coast, enjoy the end of this crazy ride, hope it's good :)

I want to know too because it's a pain in the ass to keep typing the spoiler tag since it's not in the toolbar for some reason.

Do we usually? I didn't think we did.

Spoilers are not marked after the episode starts airing in the first time zone. Always been the rule.

You can't spoil anything beyond what has already aired on tv, of course.

So I guess Jim did pass on going with them around the country. Does that mean he's not part of the company anymore? And therefore doesn't get any money from them?

Edit: Is that the same stripper??
