One and done without using the console on PC.Effect said:Is Operation Anchorage replayable considering it's setup? Or is it a one and done quest/mission?
coc megatonplayerhouse will take you back to your house in megaton. You can replace that with the neame of any cell to teleport there.TheEastonator said:So I just picked up the PC version recently and installed a bunch of mods. One of them was a mod that adds tons of 'interiors' to the wasteland.
Unfortunately it's sort of glitchy and I entered a bus and now I can't exit it...the door just doesn't do anything. Is there any console command I can use to warp back outside? I stupidly only made one save.
I have the PC version and it is super buggy. Right now it's pretty much unplayable as I get crashes every 5 minutes. I'm playing on Windows 7 64 bit so I don't know if that's the problem or what. It's really frustrating.fatty said:Can anyone give me their thoughts on which is the best version of the GOTY edition? I'm looking at the 360 and PC versions (seen a lot about the PS3 being buggy). I'm leaning toward the 360 because of the big screen/couch factor but if the PC version is clearly superior I'll go that route. I've just read a lot of issues with bugs and I'm not sure what to make of it.

1. What's the G.E.C.K.?
2. Where's the G.E.C.K.?
3. Gimme the G.E.C.K.
Are you trolling?William Percy Nightstick said:Ok, I think I might have figured it out. Is it in Vault 87? The last visible spot that I can't seem to access? You need some sort of anti-radiation suit to get in there I'd imagine.
IMO, when playing the PS3 version, just stick to the vanilla game.lucius said:I recently picked up this game for the PS3 does the dlc still mess up the normal game?
When I installed it it made me dl a patch but don't know it's safe to install the download content on ps3. I don't have a good game PC and my 360 broke on me so this is my only option.

I've only bought Broken Steel, because I felt like I had to (hit level 20 before finishing the game) and it made things considerably more choppy. I loved being able to level up again, but I hated that I lost some framerate. But as an above poster points out, luckily the really bad framerates are kept to the BoS missions.

Sry for this vague question but I'm sure theres some Oblivion haters in here who love Fallout 3? The setting has nothing to do with it as I love fantasy and post-apocalyptic.
Well I'd argue the different variety of guns is better than swords and axes ad shit. Like the Rock It launcher that can shoot anything you find, from pool balls to teddy bears to pencils. Or the MIRV, which shoots 8 mini nukes out like a shotgun. The environment is much better in FO3, its much more condensed than Oblivion's Map, so there's not a lot of dead space, and if you just walk in one direction, youre bound to find something cool you havent seen before. Aside from the from the Metro Tunnels (which there are few of) all of the dungeon areas are pretty unique.scorpscarx said:Didn't mean to bring this thread back from the dead, just noticed it on the front page so I thought I would ask as it was bugging me.
Anyway to answer your question, in Oblivion, about the only thing I liked was wandering around the wooded areas. I loathed all of the static looking npc's, couldn't stand the generic oblivion gate and dungeon environments, and generally thought the actual gameplay was terrible.

The DLC is a good chunk of content, but you'll be able to take a save from vanilla F3 no problem if you end up upgrading later.Tmac said:hi guys. Im looking to buy it but can only find the regular fallout 3 edition (the GOTY is much more expensive). Am i missing a lot? Can i use a regular f3 save game with a goty disc (in case i like the game and want to have the expansions)?
Castor Krieg said:I finished the game 2 years ago, bought it on Steam with all the DLC. I have a couple of questions:
1. What is the order I should play Vanilla + DLC? Do they have level requirements? Can I go back to some DLC areas?
2. Any ideas for a character build? Any special things to get you started quickly e.g. New Vegas Clinic Run at Lvl. 1 + Casino Slots bust?
I plan to roll the same way I did in F:NV - go with Speech/Lockpick/Repair/Science+Guns, then on high level switch to Melee Weapons. Is Melee build viable from the very beginning?
Sorry for lot of questions, I played it long time ago, but New Vegas made me start this all over again![]()
Yes what happens is you get an alert the DLC has been installed and it will give you a quest plus put a location on the map but you don't have to do them until you want to.racemixing said:I'm about to install the PC GOTY edition to play this for the first time. I've heard about the Chinese Stealth Suit which can be acquired through Operation: Anchorage, and I'd like to get it so I can play the game stealthily. So I'm wondering what happens when you install the DLC (which I'm assuming is all on the second disc)? I'm curious how it's handled/presented to you as I don't want anything to spoil the experience in any way if you're not supposed to have the DLC right from the beginning? Could I install it all from the start and just ignore it (aside from O:A) until I choose to play it (like maybe it's just a note on the map that I have to go to to start the DLC)? Just wondering how it's handled. Thanks.
Alright, that's good, thanks for the reply. I've installed the game now as well as the DLC and have noticed that you have to check each DLC under data files in the Fallout Launcher. I'm wondering if I could maybe just check O:A for now and leave the others until later and then when I want to play them just check them, would that all work the way it should? I know common sense says that it would but my neurosis just likes to get confirmation of this before doing so.Lothars said:Yes what happens is you get an alert the DLC has been installed and it will give you a quest plus put a location on the map but you don't have to do them until you want to.
The original ending to the game stays, it's just altered so you can continue playing after it. Broken Steel then adds another 'main quest' on top of that which expands the story a little further to deal with another threat. After that new main quest is finished you can continue to play the game.racemixing said:I'm near the end of the main quest (62 hours total playtime so far, most of that not doing the main quest of course) and wondering what effect installingBroken Steel will have on the ending. I'm aware that originally you were unable to play post-game, but I don't know any more than that. I'm hoping Broken Steel simply allows you to play later, without significantly changing the ending. I'd like to get the original ending but with the ability to play post-game (and to get XP for what I'm doing now, since I just hit level 20). I recall reading somewhere that it changes the ending but I'm hoping that just means the ability to continue playing? Hopefully someone can answer. (without spoilers)
It doesn't change the ending much at all. The original ending was bullshit and the worst thing about the game anyway.racemixing said:I'm near the end of the main quest (62 hours total playtime so far, most of that not doing the main quest of course) and wondering what effect installingBroken Steel will have on the ending. Any fixes?
Check out Fallout 3 Nexus, there is a fix somewhere that helps with that problem ( I mean it sounds like the same problem I had and took days to fix till I discovered FO3 Nexuszombieshavebrains said:Picked this up during the Gamestop memorial day sale and added it on my Steam account. I'm really enjoying it but its crashing all the time. Its usually with VATS but sometimes just randomly. I have the most up to date vid drivers and i've tried some .ini tweaks but nothing seems to want to work. Shame because its not that old and i figured Bethesda would have fixed this stuff by now. If anyone has had the same problems and has fixed them please let me know.

In fallout.ini, (in Documents/My Games/Fallout3) make the following changes:
bUseThreadedAI=1
and add this line to [General]:
iNumHWThreads=2

I had already beaten the main campaign, Mothership Zeta, and Brotherhood of Steel, figured I'd go for the others. So I made my way to do the Operation Anchorage mission. On the way I noticed the game was stuttering big time. Never did this before. I have the game installed on my HD and all the DLC put on an official 360 16gb flashdrive. Anyways, I've done a handful of the "missions" and I have to admit, this DLC is pretty weak. Not really fun at all. Just sneak up, shoot them, rinse and repeat. Do love the gausse (sp) rifle though. From what I remember most people didn't like this DLC and I can see why, but the gear and weapon(s) I assume you get are pretty sweet.
Got FONV and am thoroughly enjoying the game, not even close to finished. Is it worth taking a trip back to FO3 for a similar experience or will it just be a step backwards. Thoughts?

FWIW, I liked FO3 more than NV. BUt mostly only because I thought that the DC Wasteland had more polish than the New Vegas area... especially comparing the National Mall to the Strip. The Strip really ruined New Vegas for me.
