The Official Halo 3 Thread

I'm crashing into the space limit of the OP, so I just posted the link to the Believe site on Xbox.com and will leave it at that for now.

The making-of is my favorite of the mix. Great writing and music, coupled with behind the scenes stuff that makes me really appreciate what a work of art that diorama is. Amazing video.

I'm not really sure about these ads. They are really way out there. I'm getting Halo 3 no matter what so the ads have no impact on me. I will be interested to see how the mainstream public reacts to these ads.

It's a great diorama - stunning detail and artistry. The Museum ad was effective. I don't like the Believe ad, as an ad for Halo 3. Really, really don't like it. But I'll respect your opinion and not insult you.

Wow. That was really amazing. A great hybrid of fiction and behind the scenes. The music is really beautiful. Adding to OP, post more links as they come up.

I can't get that video to load. I guess the site is down atm. It keeps telling me that the page is unavailable when Media player tries to play it.

holy shit this is amazing.

just for the record.. from what I remember:

not a spoiler for halo 3 just a question and I thought someone might know..

I need to know where that music is from. I must exhange money for the raw sound files.

This is very important.

I second this. I need to know to more information about the music that played in background.

so the diorama is a monument in memory of Master Chief? Master Chief dies in Halo 2 confirmed?

And the ad agency STILL doesn't know any plot details beyond what's out there already. This is all atmosphere, feeling, mood.

It is designed to involve you in the feelings of these Marines, and the human cost of the events in the game.

Music after all, needs no lyrics to elicit a visceral response from the soul.

The only folks who know anything are Australian crims and the folks who reviewed it.

Having just talked to a famous gaming site editor who completed the game AFTER seeing the ad campaign, he was surprised by the ending.

Otherwise, stay away from spoilers from leaks. The ad campaign isn't spoiling anything for you.

oops i meant halo triple.

SPOILER FUCKING TAG.

Not that I'm shocked or anything, I'd just like to learn these things IN GAME.

EDIT: Sorry, I over reacted. I keep on forgetting -- over and over -- that the ad creators don't know the ending. Apologies.

i thought it said the diorama is in memory of master chief 117 or whatever his name is? whatever, i dont care about campaign so why am i asking.

That website is -amazing-.

Diorama speculation BEGINS. Although I don't want to read or discuss speculation, so I may just keep it in my brain until after the campaign :D

It's 50 years after the events of Halo 3, and he's 40 years old when the game takes place. If MC is dead, it's quite possible that he died in an old age home.

In the commercial, set dozens of years after Halo 3, the soldier is careful to point out that the memorial is symbolic only and that nobody really knows where the chief is.

There is no spoiler, because the ad company does not know what the ending of Halo 3 is.

HOWEVER: Speaking of spoilers - BE CAREFUL ON BUNGIE.NET next week.

Hi-res screenshot galleries on player profiles CAN AND WILL CONTAIN SPOILERS - so don't surf random gamertags until you've completed the game. They could LITERALLY have the final frame of the game as a screenshot on their file share.

Campaign shots will generally be replaced with a SPOILER gif in more publicly facing areas - but individual player profiles ARE NOT SAFE.

Videos are wow. The click through of the diorama is wow. I have to admit, there's this little part of me that so wants to put my Gundam models in with the marines though. :D

I think we're all going to find ourselves humming this Chopin music in our head for a few days though.

I can't get the strings from the Making Of video out of my head...

someone clear this up...the believe ads we have seen [museum, hero?] are or are not the tv ads

i was under the impression that the TV ads were another beast altogether
