Last night some kid robbed me of a perfection by unloading a few needles on me![]()
So the SI is Halo related or just a symbol of Bungie...Dax01 said::lol
So, Don confirmed that the announcement that was suppose to be made by Bungie during E3 confirmed that it is Halo related.

It's a weapon I've always wanted to be more useful than it actually was. It's my go-to weapon in Standoff and Last Resort now.

I sure hope SI is not Halo.the disgruntled gamer said:So the SI is Halo related or just a symbol of Bungie...

Also, some people in that thread be mightily dumb.
All of them filled with well-informed people with intelligent, well thought-out opinions!EazyB said:Sure have been a lot of Bungie/Halo threads since the E3 countdown.
Mattrick said it was.EazyB said:I sure hope SI is not Halo.
I wouldn't be surprised if Mattrick thought that all Bungie games were just called Halo.Dax01 said:Mattrick said it was.
You remain optimistic. I like that.EazyB said:I wouldn't be surprised if Mattrick thought that all Bungie games were just called Halo.
Halo: Myth
Halo: Oni
Halo: Marathon

Agreed. Even if it was simply a nothing more then a reset I'd probably have a better chance at getting a 50 from scratch then I do slaving away at 50+ wins per level at 47.soldat7 said:I favor a rank reset coupled with a more intelligent way to define and assign rank. In the long run this could actually make Matchmaking a fairer princess.

There's a lot more wrong with the ranking system then the fact that the 45-50 portion contains such a striking spectrum of player skill. Though it is a problem.KevinRo said:Why reset the stats? Just allow a patch to have higher levels.
Even with a party full of Generals I rarely get matched up against a ton of other generals.backflip10019 said:If there was a reset, I would only play ranked until I hit like 25 so that I wouldn't get stuck with Generals every single match.
That is because Bungie has given up trying to find worthy opponents for you, Eazy. You're just too good.EazyB said:Even with a party full of Generals I rarely get matched up against a ton of other generals.
Doubletrees are typically awesome hotels. There's one in Times Square that my family always stays at whenever we go to NYC and they have bellhops and everything.Dirtbag 504 said:Yo Nutter. I booked the hotel room (at the doubletree).
I found one with 2 beds and a sofa bed so no-one has to sleep on the floor, and for a good price, so I just jumped on it.
Awesome. So I'll be seeing you there.Dirtbag 504 said:Yo Nutter. I booked the hotel room (at the doubletree).

If I had my way Bungie would hide numerical ranks and just assign random titles to people if only to show how ranks don't matter.alisdair said:The problem with a competitive ranking system is that people always think they're better than they are, and so get frustrated when they don't rank up. Another major issue is that people don't like losing, when in fact a good matchmaking system will have most people losing 50% of the time (once you reach your correct rank).
Aside from a few edge cases (like neg exp boosting), I don't understand why people have such a problem with the ranking system. In my anecdotal experience, it has worked pretty well. I'm pretty much at the right rank now in all the playlists, and I can expect a competitive game almost every time.
I think the "Major changes to the Halo 3 online experience" are more likely to be a Forge playlist, or at least something a little less fundamental than a rank reset or new ranking system.

Naw, I'm at the hotel that's like 2 blocks down the street from the convention center.Dirtbag 504 said:( Did you mean, see you at the same hotel? Are you staying at the doubletree also?)

Bad News: Fanfest has been delayed (this probably means we won't see the new project before or at PAX because it seems to have been delayed because of the unexpected delayed announcement of their next project. )
Good News: Those who go to PAX can get hands-on with new Halo 3 Multiplayer Content, and even have the chance to face off against Luke and Shishka for Recon armor. Prizes and swag ftw. Their booth is also right next to RoosterTeeth's![]()

My biggest problem with the ranking system is the incredibly prominent uncertainty factor that they apply to each one's trueskill. I played a ton of TS games with randoms in order to claw my way to 45 and since then I've been playing with a regular team and winning much more than 50% of my games yet my level is pretty much set in stone at this point. This frustration leads to the creation of many an alt account and I'd much rather have a system that is more fluid in that if I go 20 games with a 80% win-rate I level up and if I do poorly in the same games I'd level down just as quickly.
This is the worst thing about matchmaking. It makes me avoid social playlists when I'm in a party. I can't believe we haven't had a fix for it yetLunaticPuma said:Is there any chance of Bungie fixing splitting up of a party in social matches?
You did not just go there.mood said:Looking at some of your recent TS games, you're being carried by 50s against lower level teams. Id say you don't deserve a 50, but I haven't played with you. I wouldn't mind a stats reset to implement a new system, Id just like to keep my general rank please.
