I'm scared.
So am I.

So, what's everyone's plan of action come September 25th?

I'll be working till 9 p.m. on Monday, so I'll head to EB after that, and hopefully won't be too far back in line. When I get home I'll play through campaign, and then check out all of the multiplayer maps via Forge's flying monitor. If I can withstand hopping online I'll probably get some sleep. A few hours later, I'm not sure if I'll get on multiplayer or find some gaffers wanting to do online co-op. I've always loved multiplayer, but I honestly worry about how much time I'll want to spend in it, what with the skulls and the metagame and the 4-player co-op. But if the multiplayer levels are as awesome as I expect them to be...

Man, I really don't know how I'm going to decide what to do after campaign - multiplayer, Forge, Forge with others, co-op Legendary, collecting skulls, watching saved films of my first campaign playthrough (wow - hadn't thought about that, yet. Will be interesting to watch years later).

So what about you guys? What first? What second?

Classes. Chill. Leave at about 9PM to goto EB with Zune, DS, etc. Get Cat Helmet (because in Ohio, I'm always first in line). Come home. Say something stupid on my site like "I got it lulz"

Play Campaign. Whisper to H3ADG3AR. After that's done, Mess with saved films of campaign and end up with like 14000 screenshots.

GAF co-op.

A thought occurs. People could potentially post pictures of the end of the game/plot twist. I'm not coming back here until campaign is done...

Then probably do some Forge alone making stupid crap. Play GAF game as my first MP game.

Thats all of the firsts planned.

I'm going to go through Campaign on Heroic by myself, first. Co-op with 3 other Gaffers on Legendary afterwards. Multiplayer, Forge, etc. comes last.

I'm going to be playing the super secret beta of Halo DS. Screw Halo 3.

Too Funny! I'm playing the COD4 card as well....

Fun games, especially that no timer zanzibar 1 flag with four scores a round :lol

And which version did we go with?

standard. i love halo the game not halo the box, documentary, the making of, the action figure, the helmet. i love halo the game.

and 65 is a ton of money for even a standard edition of the a game.

Indeed. Way too many emotions will be running rampant for me to be playing alongside others.

Not to mention the fact that I don't want to feel rushed through the story while I take it all in.

That's what happens when gametype creators spend more time thinking up funny names than actually working on the gametype.

:lol

I'll play a bit of campaign first then fiddle around with my saved film for a while, maybe take a few pics so I can have me some new wallpapers.

Next some MP, what type of MP is another issue as there's so much to contemplate.

I'm not sure what time I'll line up, but I'll be in line at least an hour before release. The place I pre-ordered it is new and does not get a lot of traffic, so I don't think there will be a lot of people lined up, which is good and bad.

The first thing I'm going to do is play through campaign on heroic. I'll then proceed to cry myself to sleep with the thought I just finished the last game in the trilogy.

No way I go anywhere near MP until I'm done with a Heroic playthrough. The chance of being spoiled by some pre-pubescent bastard in a shotty/sniper match is too much to bear.

I'm working until five, then heading to dinner. Probably Burger King, just for the hell of it. Then it's off to Gamestop, where I'll pay off the LE in full to speed up pick-up later on. Then it's the line. After that, a 45-minute drive home, and then fire it up (after gawking at the Le contents). Set Live settings to appear offline, and block communications. Watch the attract mode onece, then fire up Campaign, Heroic. Play until three or four in the morning, crash. Play on and off all day the 25th.

I'll probably wrap up Campaign in the next day or two - not going to plow through in one day. Then toggle back to appearing online and try out online co-op on Legendary.

After that? Forge, MP, more Campaign. For years, most likely. :D

Years? I'll probably play it for a few centuries then get bored. I know I'm going to get lost in the coop meta game for a long time.

Right on. I'm playing through the entire campaign in one sitting, but I'll definately be taking my time. I feel like I rushed through Halo 2 to get to the end, so this time around I'll definately be exploring and checking out the scenery.

Thank you for that. I hadn't considered Live as a vessel for annoying/interruptive messages and/or spoilers.

In fact, when I go on a media blackout a few days before launch (or sooner, if a leak occurs), I'll need to pull the ethernet cable from my console. I really hadn't considered that, yet.

I'll probably get in line around 8pm or so with a lawn chair, my phone and a camping buddy. Got my Legendary edition paid in full, so hopefully that'll get me out the door a bit quicker come midnight. I'll have probably gotten plenty of sleep the day before, so an all-nighter will be no problem, (but three years' worth of pent-up anticipation will likely do the job anyways). First order of business will be to go through the Heroic campaign by myself in one epic playthrough. Once the fight is finished, I'll peruse the bonus features, and afterwards it'll be Legendary co-op and then any combination of multiplayer and Forge. I had a great time playing with friends and Gaffers during the Beta and have resolved to do so for the majority of my MP exploits in the final game, matchmaking or otherwise. Looking forward to it!

I get off work at 7, I'll probably head out and have some dinner, then head over after that. The location is inside of a mall, and the guy said they would start doing the line at 11. I'm thinking he means they'll reopen the mall doors at 11, so I imagine there will be some sort of line forming outside the mall before then, so I'll just get in that (for Halo 2 there was already a hundred or so people by 10). Probably bring my DS or something. And apparently enjoy free food and music :lol

I'm scared to look at the bonus features until I finish the game, but I'll be checking them out right after I finish the campaign.

I have to review Journeyman on the night of the 24th. Hopefully they will send me a screener before then so I can go to the midnight launch.

Looks to me like a mix between Quantum Leap and Early Edition, if you remember the latter.

He should totally just expound on this information, make up a review, then go to the midnight release.

I'm on tonight and about to pop in Halo 2 five minutes after this message is posted. Please add me as I'm tired of games where people quit 80% of the time! I need some solid teammates!

Sept. 24th plan:

Buy snacks, etc. for tomorrow. I'm thinking something clean that won't get on my hands the way cheetos would. I've already got 3 cases of Halo 3 Dew to drink, so its really just down to the snacks.

Sept. 25th plan:

Get out of work at 5PM. Go home and take girlfriend to dinner. Give her a present of some sort. Perhaps Gwen Stefani's new perfume. This is my way of thanking her for staying out of my hair for the next week or so as Halo 3 consumes our apartment. Maybe a DS game would be even better as it could keep her occupied.

Anyway, head to GameStop about 9PM and get in line. Will have my PSP handy to pass the time. I'm thinking Street Fighter A3, Guilty Gear Judgement, and Powerstone should do. Get my copy, perhaps do a lap around the building while honking my horn at the people still in line. :) Go home, play 4P co-op with some friends. Most likely Legendary. HAS to be with FRIENDS though. Last thing I want is to get matched to some random asshat who says "Dude, I read the Arbiter totally DIES in the end!" or something like that.

Enjoy the day off work with my new favorite game. :D

I remember both and I'm certainly looking forward to it. Actually, that whole NBC Monday night is looking great. Chuck, Heroes and Journeyman all premiere on the night of the 24th. This will give some of the gaffers out there something to do before heading out to your local EB/Gamestop/BB/CC/Mom and Pop/Target.

Yeah, that would be best. I think in the recent interview with Dave Candland, he recommended staying away from the bonus content until you've finished the campaign, and I'm certainly not going to argue. :)

Yeah, It's gonna be hella tempting though...

Are you serious?

I am getting Legendary edition and I'm playing it through on Heroic, with nothing else. After I feel that I am done with campaign for the first time, THEN I'll play some multi-player and play with saved films and Forge.

I can't imagine how someone would want to do anything else OTHER than campaign o.o

UGH at the post below mine...

Sept 20-24th: Play through Halo 1 and 2 again (also don't want to be "spoiled" by review scores which come out the 23rd)

?-Midnight 25th: Head to my Gamestop for the party and pick up my Legendary Edition. Drive home with a constant grin on my face

Home: Pop that mofo in, setting on Heroic, and begin to Finish the Fight
(including several items easily within reach such as: snacks, tall glass of Pepsi, and pre-rolled joints)

Watching them would be a nice way to break up playing the game.

Does not compute.

HALO 3. Awesome gameplay. No need to break up awesome.
I'm just saying that when I see tons o discs I'm going to be tempted to jump in.

I want my first time to be special...And last....

Just a few weeks ago, I was still making fun of people who preordered the Legendary edition. However, yesterday after work, I couldn't resist and preordered one for myself. I don't even have a 360 yet cause I'm waiting for an HDMI premium or new Elite (with second heatsink and quieter drive) to show up in Vancouver. If there's any word on the Falcon ones coming out soon, then I might wait for that instead. Gonna be hard to resist getting a '360 soon when September 25th hits though. :*(
