Do we know if any major publications have received their review copies of the game yet? Will we get any more in-depth previews (or possibly even reviews) before launch?

So what realy makes the Halo series better than all those others?

Go watch some gameplay videos and play one of the games, if you're not convinced then too bad for you and you can continue playing (PC)FPS.

They're not getting review copies. They have to go to review events and they're allowed to play the game in conference rooms and in their hotel rooms.

We don't receive review copies. Microsoft are setting up review events in-house, so we can come and play, finish the game and write our precious reviews...

If you look farther down on that page, you'll see that they have Sgt. Johnson on there. Except he's white. And is not actually Sgt. Johnson. Plus the Truth and Miranda pictures on there are from Halo 2. I put no stock in that site.

Err, it's not really that strange. It's done with a lot of big profile releases. The same thing, in fact, happened for Bioshock.

Online reviews are under NDA until September 23rd. For what ever reason - secrecy, security, etc. - this is exactly how Halo 2 reviews were handled as well.

It's standard practice for very high-profile games. Probably due to leaking and pirating of copies.

We can't publish the reviews until the 23rd of September. Late date, but standard embargo policy...

It's mainly to avoid any internet releases appearing early. Publishers do this with a lot of important titles that they need to keep safe...

I assume that it's part of Microsoft's security plan to keep the game from leaking.

holy shit I just got off the phone with xbox support... my 360 went away at the beginning of august and they got it just last tuesday!!!! I may not get back in time for teh haloz. I want to shit a fireball right now. also , yum yum at new screens

Alright, I'm getting into serious anticipation mode now that it's only two weeks away. Who wants to play some Halo 2 RIGHT NOW? gamertag = ianswoody
 
Is it just me, or do those helmets look too big for those marines. Well that one marine in particular in the back left. However, I have seen some other shots with big ass marine helmets. I'm sure they were never this big in H1/2. Nevertheless, those shots look superb. Love the textures on the Hog. Its almost a shame, as it will usually be a charred wreck.

Were you in the hog on Waterworks when I tried to go under the middle area, and ended up taking the hog right off the cliff? That was fun. :lol

It's fun. But, you know, some games do stuff better. Fortunately for you, you can play more than one. Even more fortunate, if you own an Xbox or an Xbox 360, you can pick up the original Halo for $9.99 at Best Buy.

If you just have to have detailed summary, check out one of the dozens of reviews of Halo and its sequel, which give the series near universal praise.

Convinced? Yeah, didn't think so. ;)

Lolz. When we played assault, I crushed those poor gaffers who were unfortunate enough not to be on my team and ended up in the crosshairs of my purple Ghost of doom. During on pass in front of the base I heard someone shout, "You can't live forvever, urk!" I lolled and shortly thereafter, exploded.
 
anyone else avoiding xbl from the time you get the game until you beat it?

halo 2 i got a voice message froma friend that spoiled like half the game

I was having fun with the turret then when I actually started shooting at the people you would stop. And then I would get shot. Pro-Driver?

Playing Halo makes us like it. I don't think we're going to be able to convince you. Why don't you try it?
 
Are you guys still playing some Halo 2? Me, Duderon, and Ramirez were all playing last night. We should all join up together and do some custom games.

Do i need to start with Halo 1 because of a specific storyline, or can i start with Halo 3 right away?

I've heard that some will be explained if you don't know the story, but you really should play them all for the best experience.

I might be up for some Halo2 again tonight but first I need to get some COD4 in as I've only just got the beta.
