I was happily surprised when I read that comment too. However, I did not know how much weight to put behind it. Is EDGE normally pretty harsh?

That article is honestly the most positive preview I've ever read in EDGE. And that particular comment really does say a lot - EDGE really aren't the kind of magazine to gush over something unless it's going to be something really, really special. :D

The only thing I'm hoping from the playlist is that it changes more often then it did with Halo 2. Forge will add a lot of variety, and I hope that it will be exploited by Bugnie.

No kidding. My giddiness is at a whole new high now. By this time in two weeks, we'll have Halo 3 in our hands and playing it! It almost feels strange that we're so close to release..

So I've spent the last hour or less catching up on the thread. (My habit of reading a page and coming back a day later is probably going to die today.) I've been listening to the H2 soundtracks this whole time and I must reflect on many quotes.

I dont think you guys understood how cheap it really went for in this Aussie auction.

$150 AU is about 125 USD.

Sure that sounds twice the price for your normal $60 priced games, but the normal launch price for 360 games here is $120 AUD.

So really, it was only 30 AUD more, or 25 USD more..

Our dollar has become quite a lot stronger the last couple years from the lows it was. Used to be worth .49 USD and now its at .83 USD.

I'm really suprised that it went for so little. I thought it would have gone for a few hundred, even if it isn't real.

Well, I imagine the seller knew it would be pulled by Ebay if it was listed for too long, so he played it safe and used Buy It Now at a price he knew would sell quickly.

That instead of bidding on the game, you just buy it now at that price. It's not always a wise thing to do for rare items. Otherwise it would have probably gone way beyond that price point.

Regardless of if he was really selling it, that picture of the opened Halo 3 case is 100% real. It's out there.

I work at the UPS in Louisville Kentucky. I was there from 4:00pm to 11:30pm. I probably filled 5 trucks with probably 25 Halo 3 Xbox 360's Just to parts of Pennsylavannia and Parts of New Jersey. It was insane I thought it was the relaunch of the 360. I go 2 1/2 hours of overtime which isn't bad. Microsoft had 15 trucks filled with Halo 3 Xbox 360's. It was amazing now I want one.lol. I just thought that it would be good news to people who bought one or preordered one. I would also say that there were a llot of random boxes going to eb games and gamestops maybe those are the controllers. But I know I am gonna have tons of fun next week with actually shipping Halo 3. If I find out some information I will let you all know.

I'm kind of wondering how well it will sell. In either case, it sounds like Microsoft is putting a lot in stores.
 
I just heard a Radio commercial for Halo 3 sponsored by Wal Mart...they say they will have dedicated registers just for the game...I hate Wal Mart, but good show.

Do we have an official policy in this threads for impressions of the game in case someone gets it early? Do we want impressions, descriptions, lists of available MP maps?

Or do we just want them to shut the fuck up?

SOme people will clamor for it, without a doubt. And the AR (in the Beta) is only a notch above the Halo 2 SMG. Its really close to being worthless.
 
has it been 100% confirmed that there will be custom match SEARCH?

lets say i wanted to do 1 ctf on any maps, can i just go do a search and find oen without doing matchmaking?

I'm not sure what the official policy is, but I think anything that is not campaign related is fair game. I'm dying to hear about the new maps too.

No. The AR is the perfect starting weapon. They should have an AR/BR start. That would be sweet.
