Odd question, but I was wondering if you are the same ferrex that was in Halo's montage (not sure about the technical term but when you let the title screen sit too long and it goes into a video about the game's features). Anyways, there are a few different ones that play and in one of them while featuring the multiplayer, "You killed ferrex" appears when one of the players die. Just was wondring if that was you.

if you're referring to the one where him and another dude get rocketed in the face by the flag carrier (pwned) on sidewinder... yes it is him

That would be him. He's totally famous.

The technical term is "Attract Mode." Used by Arcade machines to attract players to play.

Yep, that was me.

Wait, what? Died? No, that was someone else, must've been.

Yes, and that's all he's known for within the Halo community. Not for developing the game or anything.

I'd rate having your name pop up somewhere for a split second in a multiplayer attract video much higher than being in charge of multiplayer, or having your name immortalised in bloody textures/decals at obscure points of levels.

Question about the Museum video. Is it the full thing? The wording of some of the articles are weird. And will Believe be a continuation of this or more traditional?

Do we know?

The only folks who know anything are Australian crims

Are you implying that MS is pressing charges against the ebay seller? Or, just the usual historical (And somewhat ignorant) insult towards Australians due to the leak from retail or maybe from even the stock warehouses?

That's cool. I just noticed it since I'm replaying through Halo so I figured it was worth asking since I recognized the name. :lol

Thanks, I had no clue what to refer to it as. The More You Know!:lol

Selling a game before the street date is illegal. Buying it, I believe, is not. So, yes, the Ebay seller is liable.

Breaking a street date per se is not illegal, it's breaking the agreement not to sell it before a certain date that is.

If the guy on ebay brought it from a retailer legitimately, then he is not committing a criminal act by selling, nor anyone else by buying it; the original retailer that broke their agreement with Microsoft not to sell copies before Sept 25/26 would be at fault. Mr Ebayer is not bound by a legal contract between him and Microsoft stating that he cannot sell the game before the release date.

Obviously if he stole it from a warehouse, manufacturing plant, work, or whatever, then that does make it illegal to sell, but not to buy (unless you explicitly know the goods are stolen beforehand).

In the 1up "10 good and 5 bad things about Halo 3" it mentions no clan support, do you think clan support will be added to the XBL interface and this is the reason it is being left out in Halo 3?

Thats the rumor, but I dont like to get my hopes up.

In the "10 things good..." there are only 9 good things. Apparently the 1UP writers have a hard time counting to 10

1. Four-player online co-op
2. Campaign Scoring
3. Forge
4. Bungie Recommends
5. Saved films
6. The Gravity Hammer
7. Greatly improved A.I.
8. Better level designs
9. Subtlety

Wouldn't count on it..

Halo 3: The Final World
http://www.1up.com/do/feature?cId=3162606

That article has one concern that I fear: The length of the single player campaign. I will be heartbroken to finish this game in 10 hours. It's the final game. I want something Epic and epic to me means scope, events, and length of play. I want 20 hours. I'll settle for 15.

Actually I want 30. :lol

Crossing fingers.

Stinkles mentioned on the Bungecast that the old Clan system was really not what they wanted at all and just a band aid for problems they've since fixed. Maybe someone who remembers can elaborate on that.

Thing is that laws regarding this type of stuff differ in Australia, and we don't know any of the fine details, so saying the Ebay seller is liable might not even be the case. If I had to guess I would say MS rang up the ebay seller and got more info from where the leak was coming from and thus plugging it A.S.A.P.

Though, that is why I asked stinkles if he was alluding to the Ebay seller being a crim, or just making the well known all Australians are criminal remake, because he is unhappy about the leak.

Personally release dates for games are a fucking joke, if a retailer has the game he should sell it, it's cool games are trying to have these big Movie like launch dates, but if in the end of the day the pirates are the ones playing this first, while us paying customers are left pulling our dicks hoping the game is not spoilt or even leaked before release (Which is wishful thinking but we all know most likely it will leak before the 25th) then you have to wonder what good does it do the real fans.

From the "Bad":

No clan support:
The loss of Halo clans is a huge blow to, well, pretty much anyone who likes playing with people of their choosing rather than the random jackasses who seem to comprise the bulk of Xbox Live users. Bungie threw up some smoke and mirrors about friends lists serving the same function, but...no. Friends lists and clans are two totally different creatures, and Halo without clans just won't be the same.
Erm... Bungie didn't remove the ability to play in a party.

A group of people can easily play together and form a party. No sense of a clan feature, really.

Not to troll or anything(i dont think thats even possible, because i loved both Halo's) but my biggest concern is all of you wanting to play the Campaign mode so badly, i always loved and played the Halo's because of the awesome multiplayer mode.

Dont get me wrong the Campaigns are very good, especially in CO-OP, but really, the story aint all that too tbh. I could not care less if i get to finish it in 10h:lol

And no that is not really my biggest concern.

Here's how I think of it. Halo 2 was about the same time as Halo CE, right? Halo 2 always seemed like it was longer just because of how cinematic is was and splitting up missions between characters.

Isn't Halo 3 supposed to last around as long as the previous two? See Game Length isn't really a problem with me. In extreme cases (Warioware Smooth Moves) where you can beat it in 1-2 hours, yes. But I won't be upset when Halo 3 lasts around the same time as the others. I replay campaign so much anyway it won't matter. Soak in the story.

But you're experiencing it from the Game perspective only. I'm the kind of person that reads the fiction as well. The game shows a bit into the universe, but it's much deeper.

Yeah and wasn't it the case that nobody used the clan playlists on Halo 2 anyway? Seems a bit silly to get worked up over a feature hardly anyone actually used.

I wish they pointed out what difficulty they played on.

Playing on normal is completely different than Heroic and Legendary. You can breeze through a level on normal, but it would be much more difficult on those harder stages. Let's wait & see on the 25th.

I said an Australian "crim" because that's an Australian slang for criminals. And whether the ebay seller in Asutralia broke the actual law or not is irrelevant for the purposes of a throwaway joke.

I'm playing through Halo 2 for the first time now and to me it's a much more streamlined experience than Halo 1 (so far). My favorite area so far was Earth, pretty cool backdrops and atmosphere there. The cutscenes with the Arbiter were awesome so far. I don't know much about the critique on Halo 2 but wasn't there some hate about his inclusion? Don't see why so far, he's okay as a character to me.

FFChris said:
Why not? A clan blade has actually been shown a while back, I don't see why they couldn't implament it.

Because clan blades are already a reality afaik. I think Battlefield Modern Combat had it.

Yeah, I really like the Arbiter Missions. It not only gives us a glance into the Elites world which was only in the books up until that point, but also makes the story seem to be on a much larger scale. You aren't just chief going from point A-B. They jump from Character to Character.

Any Arbiter Haters care to explain why you hate?

I don't mind having "only" a 10 hour campaign, providing there is a lot of replayability to it (and from the signs, this will be the most replayable one yet).

Longer is not necessarily better.

Yup, I don't mind it either. Loads of people complained about the Gears campaign, but I really enjoyed that.

Everyone has had a little too much Bioshock I think.

Ow yeah that was what I forgot to mention. I love the Covenant cutscenes because they now show both sides of the conflict. And tbh I find the Covenant side to be much more interesting than the human side.

Any Arbiter Haters care to explain why you hate?

Primarily because it turned the story into a convoluted mess constantly jumping from character to character throughout space and time.

I also didn't feel any pity for the Arbiter's predicament, partly because it's because I (as the Chief) did a great job kicking Covenant ass in the first game, which lead to him being in the situation he is in, and also because he's meant to be the enemy. Why should you feel sorry for defeating your enemy badly, given that he has spent decades annihilating humanity?

Finally, he quite simply didn't feel as satisfying to play as the Chief; I don't care about his treatment or motivations, whereas I do with the Chief.

I will admit that I would not be so hostile towards the character if he had been implemented well into the story, and if his predicament had not been my doing in Halo 1. (Trying to) make the player feel remorseful for satisfyingly destroying a Covenant armada in H1 is not a good decision.

Yeah, like I thought you were poking a bit of fun. But, with the crazy Halo leak stories flying around at the moment one can't be sure. :P

Also, "crim" is used to describe a single person. They put an s at the end if they are making a sweeping statement like "Those fucking leakers are some real low life crims". :lol

I am practically australian anyway. Right now I am squatting on the dunny, eating a violet crumble, listening to INXS and reading You Wouldn't Be Dead for Quids.

I went on vacation to Australia once. When I arrived at the airport the customs official asked me if I had a criminal record. I said, "I didn't know you still needed one".

Ahahaha.

Ahem.

In full agreement. Being a working-class stiff with a toddler at home, I much prefer a game with a shorter campaign that doesn't take me a month to get through.

Gears, in my opinion, was perfect. Had it been longer, I'd maybe have played through it once. But, since it was shorter, I played through on all three difficulty levels.

EDIT: (And enjoyed it all three times thanks to co-op).
