Wait, so before Frankie said you can rain multiple bubble shields down in Forge? Yet I was under the impression that more than a couple at one time would kill the game, so they had reduced it?

There's more than 1 at a time in campaign, why would MP be any different?

Place the spawn point in the air. Set the spawn timer to something like 30 secons. I wasn't clear if that means you can set them to spawn while active.

I have the 24th and 25th off work, so only 5 working days stand between now and Halo 3. That's a small number.

Wouldnt it be better to have the 25th and 26th off, instead of the 23rd? Would be great to know you can play for 2 days straight uninterrupted... now all youll be thinking about all day on the 26th is H A L O :lol

I just popped into Guardian, on Forge and the limit for that map is four, which covers the entire main section of that map. Spaced out a little, they'd give you safe cover from the gate to the beach on high ground. And they respawn, remember, so effectively they can keep regenerating forever.

EDIT: I reset their spawn times to 10 seconds and was able to have 7 deployed there at once. They respawn ten seconds after you use them, not 10 seconds after they deplete. WIN!

EDIT 2: I raced around. Got 8 simultaneous.

EDIT 3: I placed the Bubble Shield power ups on stacked crates. Deleted the crates. The shields stay levitated there. It is now raining bubble shields.

Victory.

Indeed.

Hey Stinkles, news on the blue goggles for screen calibration?

-----
Come play halo's 2 with me, guise, I'll play zombies and I'll be the zombie, so you can let out all that range that stemmed from the Purple team. :D

Blue film - probably give it away free with any purchase from the Bungie Store. Or a minimum cost + postage. We are trying to make it available day and date with the game.

WTF? so this way you can have everything spawn in mid-air. is this "by design"?

Man, I wish I could drive that WETA 'hog around. Granted, if I drove it like I do the 'hog in game, I'd just run into buildings and rocks a lot.

So we can't have optimal viewing conditions when we first play Halo 3?

:(

They need to make a replica of the Maw to run through with that 'hog

Complete with a slipspace engine that we can explode to destroy the halows? win.

Dude, if they flip it (100% chance) then they'd die.

lol :lol

Sorta off-topic, but who actually created the Master Chief design/character and the Halo universe?

The Art of Halo book credits Shi Kai Wang with the preliminary design, but it apparently looked too slender and effeminate in 3D, so Marcus Lehto modified the design to the more tank-like final look of the Mark V.

Excuse my ignorance [please?] but what does the blue film enable the user to do in calibration that they couldn't otherwise... calibrate?

Are we going to have player guides for the multiplayer maps before launch? That was one of my favourite pre-beta features, I felt like I knew my way around before even playing.

Please!
I still don't have a fucking clue where the rocket launcher is on High Ground.

We also showed off the Making of documentary from the Limited Edition, the Bungie AV Calibrator, all of the extras from the two discs as well as some locked armor perms that require a lot of Live play to find. Including the most secret one of all….
Samus' Power Suit. Yes. Please. !

There was a Rocket Launcher on High Ground?

By the little baricade on the right side of the map as your heading up the hill towards the base. It was in the middle of some low grass, beside the little weapon pod thingy. I think a lot of people where unaware of its prescene because I wasn't killed by the rocket launcher nearly as much as other weapons. :(

I'm sure I'll be beaten on this, but starting from the beach, go up and to the right (but pass the tunnel where the sniper is). On your left should be the sunken bunker entrance, on the right, up a bit is an outcropping of rocks. There were spikers there and a rocket launcher.

Assuming I remember correctly from the beta.

edit: where #6 is on this picture. It says "Missile Launcher", but it's the Rocket Lawn Chair.

Just adds the ability to do some VERY fine tuning.

So that 3D fly around that was linked in the weekly update.... is that believed to be the end of the game? I cant imagine Bungie wanting to even hint at what happens at the end... but it all feels very climactic and final.

Hey Frankie, you are a big A/V guy. On my LCD I get a faint outline of whatever is on the screen but a few cm off. Would that be a screen issue or a cable issue?

What LCD, what source? Sounds like ghosting.

After two long days of having a life, :(, the weekend has arrived, and I now have enough time to finally fully read the thread. :D
My LTTP replies to what I missed:

The diorama looks fucking amazing. The amount of detail is just unprecedented.
HBO'ers confirmation of a "perfect" ending really gives me hope. I cannot wait to see what Bungie has in store for us. Now I just have to remain spoiler-free.....

11 DAYS, BITCHES.

Are armor permutations only unlocked through online multiplayer or can one unlock them in singleplayer (e.g finish the game on Legendary).

Will they be tied to certain medals, ranks or just X amount of kills or X amount of games?

Supposedly the ads and the diorama aren't cannon, but I have a hard time believing that they are unrelated to the end of the game, because that would be misleading to people who don't scoure message boards like we all do who see those ads and expect some badass endgame battle.

I agree though, the fight depicted seems pretty final/ass-kicking awesome.

Stinkles, will Halo 3 diorama be open to public viewing? if yes, do we have to buy tickets?

and where is the darn thing in the first place. I hope this is in Kirkland.

Is this happening exclusively with Halo 2, or does it happen for everything else as well?

over on bungie.net there is a thread on how team ranked matches is not going to be available. They say there will be clans but no team ranked in match making. They say they found this info when they select the halo countdown advertisement on xbox live. Can some one confirm or deny this.

You know you're an A/V nut when someone mentions blue film and you know exactly what they're talking about...

.... and have one hidden away already. :P

Anyway, Halo 3... Just checked out the new website with the tour of the diorama. I know, I'm a little late to the party, but wow that thing is bigger than my apartment. o_O And while I didn't like the believe commercial, the "making of" video for the diorama was excellent.
