Some weeks I'm nice and distracted, spending time with my girlfriend, working diligently at my job, etc. The past few days have been relatively laid back, but then the diagram website hits today, and I'm INSANELY HYPED again. Now I'm spending every waking second day dreaming about mancannoning a Mangoose across Valhalla. :lol

Oh, that reminds me: did Bungie ever come up with an alternative term to Mancannon? They were planning on replacing it by the time H3 went gold, right?

Gah, I get my 360 back in a day and I've never been more worried that it won't work. EDF and Bioshock and then HALO THREE, I fret at the idea of getting dicked over by fate.

They said it was just a silly name they came up with, but it sure stuck. I think in the fiction they are "exhaust ports". But mancannons has a better ring to it.

I love the Mancannon name, but I think there was some concern that it was a) phallic-ish, and b) kind of goofy, taking the player out of the relative seriousness of the Halo fiction.

Or something. I could very well be making this all up.
 
While we're on the topic of me making shit up (:lol), I swear I heard that you'll only be able to hold two types of grenades at a time, but nearly all the screens I've seen show three or four grenade slots. Why show the quantity of all four grenade types when you can only carry two kinds at a time?

I think you can carry all 4 types, but only two of EACH. I could be wrong though.

You can only hold two of each. Helps stop nade spam. Kinda.

EDIT: HEY, WAIT. I distinctly remember Brian "Sketch" Jarrard (spl?) saying that he eventually learned to priotize/switch out grenade types just like you have to do with weapons in Halo 1 and 2... Am I making this up? I heard it in a podcast... Either EGM Live or the Bungie Podcast.
 
So I spent my entire evening playing Halo 2 with a friend of mine. We chatted back and forth about Halo 3 and I was going through GAF showing him the thread and I must say...

Thank you, NeoGAF and Gaffers. I wouldn't be so hyped and happy with the game coming in a few short days if I didn't have a great place to come and chat about Halo. My friends all jumped ship after Halo 2 released and only a handful of people I know in RL care. My friends list has ballooned to 50 friends in the past few days and you guys are all great.

IIRC, he was talking about prioritizing which grenade he had selected, as in ready to throw. Not switching grenades as in only carrying no more than two at a time.

So do we know if there are any "celebrity" guest voices for the marines? I swear I heard Michelle Rodriguez again in one of those single-player vids from a few weeks ago. uhh.

God, no more Michelle Rodriguez. There are way hotter Latina ladies out there that could probably act way better than she can. Her face scares me.

I thought the voice acting for Miranda Keyes was horrendous. Sounded so fake and forced. It didn't ruin the game or anything, but I definitely hope the new choice is better...

The line 'Find out why he came to Earth, why he came here' was delivered so poorly that it sounded as if she was referring to Delta Halo as Earth.
