I used the Doctor. I don't know, I guess I'll try it again, and if that doesn't work I guess I'll have to call HP/Palm support..

I still like the Go Launcher homescreen better though.
Patches really aren't necessary anymore anyways. 3.05 has Uber and Govnah. Those are the show stoppers anyways. As long as you have those, it's good enough IMO.
Installed the CM9 Alpha 0, it's smooth as hell. The interface speed is infinitely better than CM7 was (IMO).
Had no issues whatsoever. Done a full wipe in CWM and all works perfectly. If the only way is up from here then it's incredible. Complements my Galaxy Nexus perfectly, love the consistency between the two platforms.

Intel tablets are x86 based, not ARM.
Metro requires 1366x768.
You're confusing HP's webOS Touchpad with Synaptics's Touchpad for gestures.

Runnng through a little problem here : I can't synchronize my account to the agenda...that's a bother.
Installed CM9 on my Touchpad last night and wow, what a difference. It might be Alpha 0 but apart from the few major bugs (HW video) it's pretty damn stable and infinitely more usable than GB was. I prefer the ICS UI to WebOS so no going back now, looking forward to future builds.

You should still be able to run the metro interface on xga if you install it manually. It's just that OEMs can't make an xga tablet with it anymore.
Yup sure is. If you use AcmeInstaller2 and include moboot you'll get a nice triple boot system (WebOS, CM9 and CWM Recovery Console). Since you're coming from a clean install you'll have less issues than people already running CM7 and trying to install over the top (like I did).
Man, I really don't understand the complains about CM7 from some of you guys. Alot of you are saying how great CM9 is to the shitastic CM7 and I just dont see it. CM7 is perfect for me and I have no issues that I can think of. Maybe I'll see the problems when I go to CM9? We'll see..

Browsing was utterly horrible in CM7. The difference in CM9 is just amazing.
I have not done any android installs on my touchpad. Was waiting for ICS. I know this version is not final by any means, but would installing this now make it harder to install the future updates? Any reason to wait? Or should I just install this and update as they are released.
Going by past cm7 alphas, once you install it, upgrading to new alphas are easy as cake.
Drop it into your tp and update via cwm.

It's night and day. I thought Gingerbread was satisfactory too, but ICS is THAT much better. If it were just more polished than CM7 it would be worth the price of admission, but the functionality is increased a lot by having a UI actually designed for a tablet.

Well like I said, maybe I just have to test it out. Or maybe I just dont use my tablet for anything that would benefit from ICS. I just play games and browse. Hoping for the best though!
You didn't remove Uber 3.04 for any reason, did you?
I removed something from preware (when I upgraded to 3.03 for the first time and foolishly thought removing things would get me the newest patch). That's lost in the void for me now. I can't add the upgraded versions because it won't appear in my Preware feeds. It's like I've blacklisted the program for eternity.
I'm sure there's some easy solution, but since it was a minor program and nothing important like UberKernel, I've just let it go.

Uh....I thought the ACME Installer would just install shit for me. Oops, I have no idea how to start. Anyone want to help with links to a guide or step by step? I have all the files linked in the previous page.
It was posted in this thread, so I wasn't the only one confusing the two.
The biggest problem with it for me was that it's quite clearly a phone OS tweaked for a tablet. They done a great job of CM7, but you can instantly tell that ICS was designed with tablets in mind, and is much better suited for the Touchpad.

I have problems with some games. Notably Disney's "Where's My Water?" which has graphics glitches when you dig, and Amazon's free app for today, which makes my tablet restart when I try to run it.
I enjoy looking at old apps that have tablet versions on ICS, though. Where's My Water, for instance, has much higher quality graphics in ICS. Firefox has a different interface. Etc.

Delete all user data
Install update from zip
Select the CM9 file

Did CM7 eventually get hardware video? Safe to assume CM9 will eventually. Me want Netflix

This is unnecessary if you use the ACMEInstaller. All my stuff was there and working fine after I installed CM9.

Not without YouTube and Netflix working. They are must-haves for me. Without those, half of my enjoyment of the tablet disappears.

I think you have to if you do it the way I said. I just went through with it, it's not like I have any data on the thing that matters besides apps. And I couldn't find my USB cable.

Are you kids still overclocking the TP in ICS? I've found performance to be pretty damn good on default settings, but again, I don't game on Android.

Wow, CM9 is a huge improvement over Gingerbread. Switching between apps is painless plus the whole interface is gorgeous. The touch screen also feels more accurate for some reason. The only real annoyance I have is that the on screen keyboard is really big, but maybe that's an option than can be toggled. I may stop using webOS depending on how decent the battery life is.

Amazing this is what I call a tablet interface. Simple and powerful. Apart from some minor bugs this thing is snappy.

really, it's about Netflix for me. it's my most used tablet app next to Pulse (RSS aggregator) and the browser itself.
I'm okay with waiting UNLESS CM9 dramatically improves the battery life. that could tempt me to jump.
