Flek said:download the demo first - see if you like it. I didnt its a cheap ass loco rocco copy and if you ask me no fun at all. Its one of the few hyped iphone games - but it sucks.
Indeed they won't be: http://developer.apple.com/iphone/program/sdk/inapppurchase.htmlPhlivoSong said:I don't think free apps are going to be allowed to do in app purchases.
(emphasis mine)In app purchase gives you the flexibility to support a variety of business models. You can offer your customers additional services and content within your paid app.
PhlivoSong said:One of the best and worst aspects of OS 3.0 is going to be the ability to do in app transactions. On one hand, I hope the great updates to games don't dry up because developers turn every update into a possible micro-transaction.
PhlivoSong said:The biggest culprit of this is that game developer who makes all of those games where you can download respect points, or whatever those are. I've seen at least 5 different "mmo" type games where you can pay to download some kind of points for the game, and those point downloads are making their way into top 20 lists. blah
DoctorWho said:Is there a "must have" vertical shooter on iphone yet? Also, is the Star Trek vertical shooter any good at all?
After playing Raiden on 360 I want a portable experience.
Stoney Mason said:Well you can try out the lite version of the ones available for some of these titles.
Hotfield
Siberian Strike
Sentry Alpha
iFighter
Skyforce Reloaded.

Yeah there is really no reason not to purchase at that price obviously. I decided to wait until the first content update before I will play it but for that price its a very good low risk investment on getting the promised updates.Zeliard said::lol
So glad I waited on this one. I was about to pull the trigger on it twice.
Gawd, they make it so difficult not to buy games immediately when they come out, yet great deals like this pop up all the time. And fairly soon after the game is released, too.

Shanks said:I'm kinda curious about how games on the App store come out. Is it completely random? Does anything have release dates so one can read previews or get hyped on anything or does shit just randomly come out? Is there a site that list these things in a organized manner?
Diablohead said:I brought underworlds, 59p is not wasted if I dislike the game but it seems like something I will have fun with.
I messed up my touch when syncing it to my new pc and deleted all my app's, I don't remember exactly what games I brought so how would I go redownloading them without guessing the app's? I hate how you have to confirm a buy first before it says you already own it, make a mistake and I might end up buying a £5 app I thought I had.

Stoney Mason said:There are so few good strategy games on the iphone that I try to highlight any that come out. Hanto is a clone of the game Hive which is an abstract chess like strategy game involving tiles. Still needs an update or so to get rid of some niggles but for 99 cents not too bad. Worth checking out if you like board game style strategy games.

Stoney Mason said:A personal favorite of mine, Hanto is back after being pulled from the app store for some legal re-tuning issues. Ignore the review scores. Some people gave it bad scores because they didn't like the fact that it was a clone of hive. Really good app imo if abstract boardgames are your thing.
Dont bother downloading iFighter lite, the full version is better than the demo - I personally find it even better than Syberian Strike - and it is on sale for 0.99DoctorWho said:Thanks for the list.
mrklaw said:Is there a simple way to get all the games I've downloaded on my ipod touch onto my wife's ipod touch?
If I sync my ipod, it'll back up the applications right? Can I then copy that folder (where is it?) onto the wife's netbook in the same location, and itunes should pick it up and let me select them in the sync settings?

Blackbeard's Assault is the same type of gameplay, but seems like the much better game. I bought it months ago and love it.megashock5 said:This intrigues me. I like the basic gameplay of PuzzLoop, but controlling the direction with your finger, it might be easier to see what's going on with the launcher at the bottom of the screen.
