Since their porting over Sega-CD titles, I would love to see some old-school QTE Laserdisc games (Road Avenger, Time-Gal, Dragons Lair, Space Ace, Night Trap, etc..). Oh, and a port of Lunar would be nice as well.

I want Snatcher.

So MotionX Poker has turned out to be the best $5 I've ever spent on a phone game. I'm looking for another solid game for the iPhone, and was thinking about picking up Critter Crunch, but it seems steep at $10. Anyone for/against? Other recommendations?

Dizzy Bee!

Sorry so late to the party but it's been a bitch trying to track one of these things down -- BUT -- I finally got my iPhone 3G. Long story short, I was pretty happy with my HTC Hermes but when 3G, GPS, and here's the kicker, Exchange support came along, I just had to jump in.

So I skimmed this thread a bit and noticed that Aurora Feint was talked about so I downloaded it and checked it out. One question, how do you get the rows to come up faster like in Tetris Attack/PDP?

Thanks.

Well, I've been flipping the phone around at different angles and more blocks drop down with it.

I do think there is an easier way though.

Two finger drag in the direction the row is traveling

Sweet. I love this damn phone!

Sitting here in my living room while Pandora streams into my speakers.

The only thing I wished the iphone had was internet tethering.

I got around to trying out a few games last night.

-Aqua Forest
Likely had the most fun with this one. Poor performance once you get even a decent amount of stuff on screen, which made the puzzles I tried impossible to bother with. But I still had a lot of fun messing around for a bit. Probably will get a lot of use as being a sort of 'show off' app to friends.

-Bomberman
Looked great but still getting used to use the touch screen as a dynamic d-pad

-Tap Tap Revenge
I would of liked more effect or something from hitting notes or whatever.

-Aurora Feint
The only one I haven't tried yet; didn't have the time and figured I'd want to set aside 20m or so to 'get into it' a bit.

Sure there is.

App Store > All iPhone Apps > Sort by: Release Date

Even better... when you browse by category on your phone it automatically lists the newest and most recently updated apps first.

Beatmaker looks freaking awesome... the $20 price tag and the lack of a piano layout thingy for making your own melodies is what is holding me back from buying it. Still pretty impressive looking though. A 120mb mobile app for making music... ha ha.

I'm tempted to pick up De Blob, Critter Crunch, or Dizzy Bee for my next game. Monkeyball was a pretty big let down. There needs to either be a sensitivity adjustment, or some on screen feedback to tell me why I'm f'ing up. MotionX Poker is a fun diversion game for a few minutes, but ultimately the AI is so dumb that it feels like I win all the time. Since I've played it I don't think my bank account has ever gone down. You lose 5 times in a row and then win once and you basically get all of your loses back.

Just picked up Critter Crunch today (among a few other titles), and I gotta say, it deserves to take the top spot from that other $10 monkey dong. You can tell the developers of Critter Crunch actually put some quality effort in making this game shine. From the rich detailed graphics, intuitive gamplay and well suited on the go pacing, this definitely one of the few App-Store games that is worth the price.

what do you use for streaming, che? bluetooth?

How's the Tetris game? I checked the screenshots and it looked a little jazzed up beyond just classic Tetris (added effects or something?) Bomberman is decent but I just don't find that the touch screen works all that great for a d-pad; managable but not great.

Sounds good, I think I'll give it a shot then :D

Been playing a lot of Aurora Feint and it's really good! I love the strategy in using the accelerometer to get bigger combos. Actually, I'm kinda surprised that it's a free download.

Haven't tried any of the "online" portion yet. Has anyone here used it? How does it work?

They need an option for stationary placed directional pad instead of having to "drag" your finger all over the screen to move. Otherwise its a pretty fun.

.

Exactly, if they add that feature then ill put down the $20.

I've bought: SMB, PokerX and Crash bandicoot racing<--- this is the worst purchase I ever made, the graphics are horrible (worse than ps version), the game feels really laggy and not fun at all. Quite disappointing considering thats the game thats supposed to be the best on the apple store. I want my money back :(

Oh well

I bought it (£12) and it's great. A little fiddly, and yeah, you're limited to the 16 samples limit per track, but it's really cool.

Midomi is an impressive app. It can identify a song with surprisingly good accuracy if you can hum or sing about ten seconds of it, and it then connects you to other users who've done that song along with a network of their friends/fans.

It is worth noting that Midomi is occasionally inaccurate.

ok I finally have my 3G phone with iTunes working again.

I want to buy like 2-3 games.. which would you guys say are the absolute MUST BUY ones?

I had about $5 left on my iTunes account, so I picked up Trism. Seems pretty cool, but unfortunately it quit out while I was playing.

there are many issues with FW2.0 and applications. Reseting the iphone solves 80% of them, and deleting/reinstalling solves a lot too.

ps. critter crunch.

Aurora Feint which is free is a good timewaster.

I bought Critter Crunch last night. Pretty cool so far, a good time waster.

My friend got Bejeweled 2 and the Brain challenge game. Bejeweled has pretty decent graphics but at $10 seems a bit steep. The Brain challenge game was a lot better than I thought it would be. Each of the activities take 60 seconds so it's perfect on the go and it saves your high scores and progress as well. It's $10 but I'm tempted to pick it up.

So far, I've gotten Monkey Ball (on World 3, it's hard), Dizzy Bee (only $3!), and Critter Crunch. I'm thinking of picking up MotionX sometime and Scrabble... has anyone got Scrabble? Some of the reviews on the App Store said it was buggy and crashed.

As i mentionned above, there are issues with the 2.0 Firmware - all these people need to do is reset the phone as a solution. If that fails, reinstall the app.

Its really bad, since developers are getting blamed en masse for what is clearly an OS issue.

I bought motionx and critter crunch. motionx is the shit, simple concept, perfect execution. i only have about 150 coins....so damn close to opening up another table. just started aurora feint, didn't know its basically an rpg....and i fucking love it.

iPhone <3

Think Lumines will ever make it?

Isnt there a Lumines Mobile out there?

I think it might. Although the brand has not made an appearance for a a while, I hope they havent given up on it.

hmm, actually i dunno if I even want a racer.

so far i bought Super Monkey Ball and Vay. I think I'll get one more thing.

Trism or Motion X Poker?

edit: went with trism cuz of achievements

Motion X Poker has achievements too. Just sayin'.

Lumines Mobile is actually pretty good for a cell phone game. I had a lot of fun with it.

So far I have been a little picky with what I pick up. I got a miss with Monkey Ball (great presentation, horrible controls) so I've been very careful since.

Right now I have:

Motion X Poker
Critter Crunch
AquaForest

All of them have been good pickups IMO.

There's this game called Galcon that has some good reviews. Anyone tried it?

Dice game?

So is Motion X Poker not a poker game?
It's a poker game played with dice. You get three rolls to make the best 5 dice poker hand.

*Note: Due to the probability mathematics, a straight beats a full house in dice poker.

I think I might bite and pick up Critter Crunch tonight, just from the positive buzz alone.

Any more impressions of that Sega CD RPG, Vay or something?
