You sure Sims 3 is a common? I don't have it in my list.

French list seems to be the same as the US one.

Link came from Toucharcade. I forgot to add it so it doesn't look like I compiled it myself. They may have made a mistake if that's the case.

Is Kill All Bugs worth it? For those who bought it, are you actually playing?
I only played the first few levels but it's good. Having to defend multiple cities is a nice twist on the standard TD game and the GBA-styled graphics are cool.

Buy it for 2 bucks.

Well, it's pretty strange insofar as the french list having only 29 items...

IGN review for Star Hogs

Bought. I'm such a whore for that kind of games. I spent a good deal of my hospitalization time a couple of years ago playing a (buggy) worms game on DS. Hopefully I won't play in the same setting again but bring on online battles!

Anyone play Gameloft's DJ Mix Tour? I see that it's on sale for $1.99, down from $4.99. Just wondering if it's any good or if I should just wait for that magical .99 price.

Couple of interesting casual games worth a try at least for the lite versions.

Globall is a brickbreaker but with accelerometer control.

I have to agree with Costanza, I'm definitely having more fun with DownToZero than Drop7. Though that might be because I've been playing Drop7 every day for like 6 months, but everything about Down... is hooking me.

Creeps is the best I've paid for. Sure it's short but it's fun and just hard enough.

I can't beat the last stage. The first 45 waves are so easy, and then comes the last few waves that are just ridiculous. Waste so much time to get there and get kill in 20 seconds.

I wonder what's up with today's Crystal Defenders update? The only description was "An update is now available for the iPhone 3GS". Did the 3GS get some new feature in the game? (Mine's a 2G, and after the update, nothing is different.) Maybe it takes advantage of the hardware and performs better on the 3GS? Something like that?

It would crash. Would not load any stages. They fixed that.

baseball superstars 09 is fucking crack. CRACK! this is probably my favorite game of the pack. baseball rpgs rock.

GAMELOFT FOR PRESIDENT.

Last week I posted about a mysterious video of an upcoming iPhone game. Forum members played a bit of a guessing game as we all speculated what the game would be about. Some were sure it was a trailer for Cartel, an MMO-type game currently in beta, others through some internet detective work traced the site back to Gameloft and hoped that we were looking at an upcoming Grand Theft Auto styled game.

Those of you who thought we were watching a trailer for Gangstar were correct. We just got some news and exclusive screenshots of what Gameloft has in store for us, and it sounds like a pretty ambitious title for the App Store.

I would like to see the line of sight improve but the graphics are nice and the gameplay seems developed. Very excited for this one.

I don't get how people can completely rip games and no one gives a fuck, but one team spoofs fl0w and the internet rages.

Everybody is different. It depends on who's posting at the moment. Personally I've never had an issue with clones.

If your speaking to DropSum though it really does have a completely different gameplay mechanic than Drop7.

Spoof? Looked pretty blatant to me. Plus one of the original developers complained about it; so yeah, not strange it got more attention. Nobody raises an eyebrow over yet another Pac-Man or Tetris clone.

I'm playing DownToZero so fucking much that I've made it the only game I keep outside of my 150-game full "Games" categories folder, for quick access.

It... is... so.. addicting.

Categories? Ew. SO. SLOW.

Not as slow on the 3GS, at least. It's better than having 11 cluttered pages of random apps.

Also, Flunkie, did you check your PMs on TA? I asked the dev of DownToZero to send you a promo code for the lite version (it's all he had left). Not sure if he did or not.

Not if you organize the pages according to the type of app it is and whatnot. :P

And no, I didn't get a PM. That's awfully considerate of you, though. :P

I think the big difference is that 1.) It wasn't just a similar game, it was the *same* game - graphical style, gameplay, etc. 2.) They claimed it was an all-new, all-original thing.

You can ape genres and mechanics all you want, but taking something that distinctive and basically claiming you invented it is criminal.

I feel bad for how many Iphone games are shameless ripoffs of something else, and ripoffs that you nonetheless have to pay for. If you're stealing someone's work so completely, at least have decency to give out your inferior copy for free.

The most recent example is that Lumines ripoff, which is so bad that it's nearly unplayable in comparison, and ugly as sin too.

Actually, a really good Tetris clone (and free at that) was removed from the store, probably because some of the IP holders complained. It was called Tris.

- Meh.

Agreed, meant to post this earlier but I forgot.

Stay the hell away from Blocks2, GAF.

I'm in my 2nd season of career mode, my team won the championship 1st season but my guy just sucks (219 avg). I'm playing as a batter, can't seem to earn any popularity or g points. Awesome game though.

Just bought 4x4 Jam. Apparently it's a downscaled port of an old codemasters game called 1NSANE.

And uhh, there's like.. no content here. 2 tracks and 2 cars. Not sure it was worth the $4, but it does look great and plays really nicely (3GS). With updates adding the rest of the content from the OG game, this could be great.

That's what I do, first few pages are apps, then favorite "hardcore games," then favorite casual games. I have no issue with it, especially since the home button jumps to page one from anywhere. But no denying categories are nice.

I like the physics model and that it actually feels like an offroad racer, but the content is just too barebones right now to recommend.

Even more impressive is that I didn't start posting seriously until after the app store had been open for awhile. I sort of ignored the whole iphone thing mostly at first only posting occasionally.

I know. I checked back a couple months ago and I was the leader of posts here by far. Now you're well on your way to tripling my post count.

You know what's funny? I've been on GAF since it was hosted on Ezboards but I don't think I've even made 118 posts in all those years until the App Store opened up...

(and I've owned every console between then and now too)
