+1 for Sword & Poker. Very Puzzle Quest-ish in execution. I'm not getting that the AI is that intelligent, but I'm only on the second floor so I imagine it gets more difficult later on.

I really want to play sword&poker but I wish it had a more in depth story/adventure, it's a great idea though instead of all those stupid strip poker app's, there is like a new one every day.

Quick little sneak peak on an update we're about to submit for Bird Strike later today - it should hopefully be live in a day or so.

OpenFeint Support! - Online Leaderboards & Achievements!

We also got a fresh hands on review up over at TouchGen today as well

Nah, I love rpg games that don't really have a story. I normally don't care for the story.

Sweet Jos! Glad to see open feint support. Looking forward to that.

I downloaded the lite version of Sword and Poker Lite and after completing the first floor I can understand why people were playing this for 3 hours straight. Its all sorts of awesome, I bought it right after I finished up that floor of baddies.

that Gameloft racer looks gorgeous! I know it goes without saying, but they get a lot of complainers for odd reasons, so I thought it would balance out a little.

played Minisquadron for the first time today, I know it's been several weeks since that was news and it was just one of those games sitting on my iPhone "that i've been meaning to play." Finally looked at it, they really nailed some very important points-

-so easy to pick up and play the first time through. I see so many iPhone games where I have to meddle with it a bit and I lose patience; by the time I would have figured it out, I've moved onto something else. They did a marvelous job of keeping it so simple right off the bat, but different enough that I don't feel like "oh hell I have seen this so many times before!"

-tons of value. immediately when you start, you sense that the game is going to have lots of things to pick through. tons of levels, tons of unlockable planes, which all translates to lots of fresh gameplay.

I guess I am saying - fellow iPhone devs, follow this lead!!

As for me, my partner and I are cranking away to wrap up our second iPhone title, it's been in the oven for a long time and just so excited to get it out there! Should be about 2 more weeks, if that. It's taking a lot of cues from the likes of Bust-a-Move & Tetris Attack (two of my longtime favorite games) so if you liked those you will be down for ours as well. It shares some gameplay tenants of those games, but a very fresh mechanic - not just another "gameplay rip," this is something different :)

Stay tuned-

Um what's the best Zelda LttP ish game on the AppStore? is it even possible with the touch screen controls or are all the Zelda like games very slow in comparison?

I would say zenonia is rather close, it's isometric, you slice things up as you walk around the map but you also level up like a regular rpg and find better gear, story is nice, I like it.

It was also one of the first RPG's on the device and still holds on well, there are only a few others which do not match the quality. (in the zelda like approach, there are plenty of other rpg's on the device)

Where's my goddamn Plants vs Zombies PopCap?! December came and went, the local news even covered the game up where I used to live (was at my pops house when I saw it). They showed the iPhone version...I want it. NAOW!

Sometime at the end of the month my friend...

Man, damn 500 errors. Sick of typing this:

Anyway, Popcap said it'll be out late January. I'm guessing they had more to do and couldn't make their holiday deadline.

Also World of Tunes is free today. It's basically an Ounedan-like rhythm game. It has crap music, crap mechanics, but presented well. I dislike it, but hey it's free for today.

I feel strange posting in here since I have neither an iPod touch nor an iPhone, but Tumbledrop was really cool on the PC, so I thought I'd chime in after dock's post. Keep up the good work dock!

You can also play the original PC version of the game here (browser based, but uses the Unity3D Plugin).

Just a little history, I used to work doing artwork for games like LostWinds and Rollercoaster Tycoon 2+3, but I went indie in 2009 and this is my first iPhone release. I hope you like it! :)

I remember seeing thread for this a while back (a year maybe), and thinking it would make a good iPhone game. Now it is!!

Downloading!

Wow pretty cool stuff

Do you have a blog outlining your development?

Tumbledrop awesomeness

Wow! Really nice work, congratulations on your first iPhone release. Those graphics and art style look great, and the gameplay actually seems very fun and fresh despite having played and become bored of games like Jungle Bloxx and Finger Physics. I'll definitely pick this up sometime in the next few days, I just like to pace myself. Nice work, that trailer looked really enjoyable. I'm going to steer clear of the browser version so I don't spoil it for myself.

Anyone wanting to know whether the extra cost for a 3GS or larger iPod touch was worth it, here's an example of the up and coming ZenBound2 (image from Touch Arcade) rendered using the old and new openGL engine (available on the newer processors):

I'm not sure if this means that Zenbound 2 will only run on the newer devices, or whether it will 'downgrade' to run on older hardware.

Wow, thx for this post, I think this is now my favorite iPhone game... So beautiful, polished and well executed...

Thank you.

But am still looking for just a general "app news" site.

Anyone know one?

In other news I finished Sword and poker more or less properly. I didn't get all the weapons, but I got the final weapon and shield. I also
completed the extra ten floors that appear when you beat the final boss. The end of that is a pretty tough boss, but mu current tactic is nearly foolproof. I just need to mix it up on the final final boss

Overall GREAT game. It starts out slow and you wonder if it's all that deep, but it does develop slightly and it is engaging if not super deep.

They charge for them because they like money, has nothing to do with anything legal. Otherwise every single iPhone App would have to charge for their updates. And PS3 would have to charge for their firmware updates. And Xbox 360 would have to charge for its system updates.
I'd be interested to here which university you attended for your J.D. degree. Clearly, you've broken a major case of fraud against consumers that no other attorney in the world has found a way to successfully litigate.

Kudos to you, good sir. :lol :lol :lol

How many levels total? I think I'm on 12, once the floors started getting longer I haven't been playing as much.

Hey everyone.
My cousin and I have been looking for a Diablo-ish fix for the iphone. We need an RPG with either wi-fi or blutooth multiplayer..
Is there anything like that on iPhone yet?

Was just checking through App miner and quite a few apps are free in response to the Haiti disaster. Boxed in and Boxed in 2 as well as Form are free. Probably more as well. Haven't downloaded any of them though.

Sadly I don't think any of them have multiplayer yet.

The Lord of Chaos is on floor 27, but after that it unlocks 10 more floors
.

Oh my. I just finished 15 yesterday. Guess it'll take awhile, which definitely means I got my money's worth.
