So pleased that Angry Birds is at the top of the App Store's Paid and Grossing chart. One of my favourite iPhone games.

I also love this game. I got rewarded by the devs for 3-starring everything:

Can anyone give me some Angry Birds hints? I'm on level 1-21 and it still seems like I'm mostly doing trial and error without any true problem solving behind it.

Learn which birds are best against certain items like wood, glass and stone. Also think about how the physics work and knocking certain parts first will make others follow.

I find after a bunch of attempts I suddenly realise roughly what I am suppose to do with my order of birds, and then I crack it.

Canabalt is on the most recent cover of the Austin chronicle.

Finished the last level of Sword + Poker today, will probably keep playing til I've bought all the weapons/shields. The second to last sword pretty much makes the last level a cakewalk, I can only imagine the last sword making it even easier. Still, for .99, that's probably been the best gaming value I've had ever.

Love the look of We Rule. I guess it will be out soon if they submitted it last week. Not a fan of ngmoco's policy to have the game free with in-app purchases to keep it going - stuff like mojo will obviously be a purchased item - but if a few friends play it without the purchases, it could be a bit of fun.

Tried a demo for an Alice in Wonderland game, super basic platformer (based on the demo), but I think for like .99 I might bite. :)

Yeah, trying to think of a name that hasn't already been used or isn't stupid was pretty hard.

i don't think it's bad it just doesn't stand out much. i'll definitely be buying the game once i pick up some credit.

Word Rush looks fun! I am surprised how much I am enjoying the "word" games on iPhone.. they are pretty perfectly suited to the device though.

I picked up Colorbind yesterday, and was blown away. Have any of you all tried it yet?

It's a really unique path based puzzle game (well i've not played anything like it before). You have to guide little strips of paper around the screen in order to cover up little circles.

Really clever puzzles, and a cool aesthetic. And it's $1 :)
Bought. I love the design.

So I had some ideas about this. Tried some Wikis out, and that sucked, then I realized a database of some sort would work well. Took a while to find a good public one...then found that unfortunately free accounts are currently private only except upon request, so I'm still waiting for them to approve me.

Anyway I started messing with it over many hours in the mean time and have something more or less working right now (...other than not being public). I imported the existing Google Spreadsheet sorta to test it out and took some screenshots to show what it can do. Genre's didn't get imported cause I screwed up that part but it shouldn't be a hard fix, and I forgot to import the descriptions.

Default view (cept y'all won't have the Admin tab) and what shows up when you click on Add Game:

I added some more fields, Demo/Lite, DLC (Yes/No), and Link, preferably an iTunes one...but really anything can go there (you bastards better not abuse that with porn!). Demo/Lite was kinda necessary cause the Price field is numerical only...then I figured DLC had to be there too for those free+DLC games.

Filter thing in action with Price:

I set up a few custom ranges for that, Free, $1-4, 5-8, 10+ (well all those minus a cent). I can change those to whatever but those seemed to be the breaking points for people ($5 and 10 that is).

And in case you were wondering (after I switched the lite/pay games to pay), as of the time I imported the data, there's one free game, 40 $1-4 games, six $5-8 games, and no $10+ games. We're all damn cheapskates.

Filter thing with Genre:

No love for the Bear Driving Simulators I see. For the list I just copied all of IGN's and Touch Arcade's, it's a pretty big ass list and covers most of the games posted I think. I'll probably go back to pare it down a bit cause there's some redundant shit in IGN's list, if you know of a good list I'll copy that. Ideally you'd just pick from the list, but the option to add a new genre is there if necessary.

Some other stuff not shown is the search filter, grouping, individual column resorting, etc.

Wow... I'll get this when i hit home.

has anyone bought the taiko drum master game from the japanese app store? how could i do this with just an american account?

(and is the game worth the hassle, or is it something that requires a lot of DLC to play extensively?)

I've got 10 Tumbledrop codes for Neogaf users.
The codes only work for people with US-based iTunes accounts.

Post in this thread if you want one!! :)

I'm amazed how well Plants vs. Zombies was ported to the iPhone. Only gripe I have is that some of the music is missing (I liked the peaceful track when you get a new plant type between levels) and that I don't have a 3GS for super smooth animation when things get hectic. Otherwise, maybe the best $3 you can spend on the App Store.

I just bought ColorBind - it is indeed a fun little brain-puzzler. Putting it right next to Electric Box and Geared on my home screen.

Okay, all Tumbledrop codes gone! I hope you enjoy it! :D
I decided to give out 11 codes, so RedNumberFive got lucky!!
Please tell your friends if you enjoy it!

edit: sorry x Maiku x and oracrest, you missed out! :( Please try out my demo at least, maybe you'll like it.

Thanks dock! Playing Tumbledrop now!

Purchased Peggle (love it... got Peggle Nights for free yesterday as well), Angry Birds (challenging!), and Canabalt recently. Something about the running animation or the character himself in Canabalt that doesn't seem to fit in with the detail of the world or maybe it's aesthetically unpleasing to me. Fun gameplay and cool music, indeed. Picked up Colorbind, couldn't resist that price... Level 7 is srs.

Thanks again Dock!

Just played through the first 20 levels of Tumbledrop and I'm really liking it so far. It feels great beating a level using only 2 moves and getting a medal for it. Look forward to playing it some more.

Hmmm, I kind of breezed through to Level 10 pretty easily, and got up to about level 20, until I put it down. I love it so far, but it's fairly logical.

Sounds like we are getting more "free to play but carry premium dlc items games" coming :/

The model appears to be working extremely well for ngmoco. Can't really blame them.
