There's a game called FixPix that is coming out soon and that really looks awesome. It uses the accelerometer the same way than that DSi game to simulate a 3D screen, and the art looks like the one from Beat It (another awesome iPhone game). There's a demo (to try with your computer mouse) on the website: http://www.delicioustoys.de/fixpix/

Damn I wish I knew the site made a loud noise when you get it right before I clicked that link. I had my volume on max and it scared the shit out of me.

Wow, that's a great concept for a game, I love LOVE that artstyle!

Just completed Angry Birds with 189/189, 126/126, 45/45 & 10/10 :D.

This game sucks up so much time. Everytime an update comes out, I pretty much drop my other games to 3-stR everything. A few days ago, I went through the entirety of angry birds on ipad doing it all again. Need to fit some other games in before the next angry birds update on iPhone!

Thanks!

Oh shit yes, EDGE is back!! Downloaded to my iPad, it looks glorious. I deleted it from my iPhone a long time ago, never thought i'd see it again.

Anyone who hasn't yet downloaded Words With Friends should do so. It`s a scrabble clone that you can play with other people over the internet. There is a fully featured free version with ads if you dont want to pay.

After you download it, post your username in this thread so that you can play with other GAFfers and spell out naughty words together!

It seems the last time I had to put everything back on my iPhone, my save files for Defense Chronicles were removed :(

I've started playing again -- my old version didn't have Openfeint, so I've been going through those. Great game, but it's fucking hard as nails.

Finally got EDGE! It's definitely as good as I had hoped. Great gameplay mechanics, level design, and presentation. Fantastic stuff!

How is online handled in this game? Is it Plus+ or something else?

Good enough. I'm in. I'll post my UN in the thread once I'm up and running.

Can't believe it took me so long to search Cydia for ScummVM.

It's far from perfect, controls wise, but its still awesome.

hook champ scales well but i dont believe the controls scale well. Since you have to point at the exact location you want to hook to, its much harder than on the iphone IMHO

Edge deserves better than your insulting 99c. So I decree that you must buy it and then give everyone you know with an iPhone a dollar and force them to buy it, too.

I don't get how this is better than scrabble? I've played a bit of WWF, but kept going back to scrabble. What am I missing? Honest question, because everyone raves about it.

Well I only played scrabble briefly on my friends phone, so I'm not too sure of it's features. Does it have online play with chat? What I like about WWF is its social aspect. I have games going with a bunch of my friends with a lot of back and forth trashtalking. So there's that...and that it's free.

Yeah, it has the social aspect, and multiple games, etc. May be the fact that you can only play with facebook friends is the negative(but you are able to play against people on their computers, which is a plus) you are probably correct, free is hard to beat. It is well polished. I can't give up scrabble and the "my teacher" feature though.

I played the Edge demo back a few months ago when it was rereleased for a short period, and while I thought it was cool, I found myself getting frustrated by the controls and couldn't see myself playing through more than maybe 10 levels.

I just bought it, and holy shit is it great. The level design is some of the best I've seen in any game ever. I haven't been disappointed by a single level yet, and at least half of them have straight up blown my mind with out ingenious and amazing they can be. I still get frustrated at the controls, but now that I'm in the more advanced levels (20ish) I'm seeing that it's just something that I have to get used to, as I don't think it could work without controlling the way it does.

While I've played and enjoyed a lot of games on the platform so far, I think Edge is for sure the game everyone needs to check out on it.

Here's a game I've been enjoying; Saving Private Sheep

13yndhw.jpg

It's a physics puzzler like Tumbledrop or Tiki Totems or Finger Physics. Seriously, these games are a dime a dozen. But it has enough variety to make it well worth playing.

You basically have to get the sheep to flat ground by breaking blocks. It then introduces multiple sheep, explosives, ice blocks and wolves dressed as sheep, that you have to kill instead of save.

Very cool, and only a buck.

- More than 80 levels
- Numerous elements available to unlock (levels, medals, success)
- World rankings via OpenFeint

That is incorrect.

You only need to point to the upper left or right side of the screen and the rope fires at a 45 degree angle. I've finished the game and know the controls very well and you definitely do not need to point to specific areas on the screen.

ah my bad, i didnt try it out enough on the ipad (just went back to iphone) to even realize it was just 45 degree angles when you tap the screen.

edit: wait a second, I'm remembering now that I was specifically under a hook or whatever and tapped on the hook to grab onto it. That required a lot more movement than it wouldve on my iphone, and was my point. I suppose when you're trying to rush straight through you can just use the 45 degree angles however.

By the way although the my teacher feature of scrabble is certainly a nice touch, you can always just play WWFHD and look up online what you could have done after you go with your best guess. It's particularly amusing to see 150 point words that weave in and out of verticals or whatever, hit a triple word and z and q are on triple letter and you use all 7 tiles. Of course, the potential is there for cheating by not even bothering to make your own move but what fun is the game then? You'd basically be just a computer opponent at that point. I suppose I won't link to any though because I'd rather not tempt you guys. :lol

Celebrating the weekend with another promocode or 2 for my game 180

PM me nice and quick and it is yours! All I ask is that you give an (honest) review -

In a press release released just the other day, I announced that Fruit Ninja had sold over 140,000 copies so far in just two weeks. Which is totally awesome.

We updated the game to version 1.01.1, which also fixed the swipe bugs a few GAF players were having. If there's any other issue that pop up just let me know and I'll be able to pass them along.

Finally, we're almost done with our second major content update, and this will include a new mode and gameplay mechanic. We'll be submitting to Apple this week!

And here's some interesting stats I pulled together to add to the recent news. Needless to say a few of those figures blew me away.

DID YOU KNOW?

Since the original Fruit Ninja release date of April 21st, our players have sliced over 250 million fruit.

That’s 170 fruit sliced per second.

To put things in perspective:

• 28 million watermelons are now extinct. Fruit Ninja players slice 7800 tonnes per day, which is more watermelon than the United States produces daily.

• 26 million oranges juiced, totaling 57 million recommended daily servings of vitamin C down the drain. Sorry about that, scurvy patients.

• 8 million banana cakes worth of bananas. Which sucks, because banana cake is awesome.

• 160,000 tonnes of fruit sliced in total. Which is roughly equal weight to the total amount of gold ever mined on this entire planet. Sweet!

Some food for thought indeed. Thanks for playing Fruit Ninja!

I don't have any of those. And I love Angry Birds. So....which one of those four do you recommend me?

excited, I love the first one and still play it (since I lost all my save last year I been replaying it with the gameloft live achievements to earn)

Looks a lot better, hope it runs smooth.

*late edit* Looking over my huge app list of games, so many freebies or 59p games I just don't play or like, doing a huge clear up because I am like that, amazing how many games and app's I own due to the low price points of the app store, I must be hitting near 200 app's if I had them all downloaded.

Backing up the good games though don't want to lose them or have to redownload multiple hundreds of app's again, I do wish it was easier to remember what I bought, apple need to work on a much better and cleaner to read purchase history list.

played more hook champ and realized that when you're going for a perfect time you pretty much just tap on the screen in the same place the entire level. :lol So in that respect its not too tiring to play on the ipad.

I'd say Saving Private Sheep, just for the sheer variety, but I know the GAF contingency is big fans of Tumbledrop because its made by Dock, a GAFfer.

Tumble has a free demo though, so give that a go and see if you find the style of gameplay interesting. Some will obviously not find deleting blocks so a character lands safely on the ground, very fun.

that's awesome news phil! and is fruit ninja your guys' way of exorcising some hatred for food activists or something? I love the stats. :lol

Thanks for the kind words guys, Fruit Ninja is a great success and we want to support it as long as possible. Your ongoing support only means more Fruit Ninja for the future!

As of today we surpassed 200,000 units sold. Pretty damn amazing for under 3 weeks on sale.

We're putting the finishing touches on the new update now. Should be submitting either today or tomorrow, hopefulyl for an end of week release on the App store. It is by far our biggest update yet.

i... really like that game. puzzle number 80 is a total bitch and so awesome. it stumped me for a good day or two.

also make sure you go back and medal in all 80 levels. i'm not sure when the side-path levels pop up but i didn't realize they were there until the end.

medalling in all 80 is definitely worthwhile.

A bunch of Gameloft titles are suppose to be free for 2 hours each day this week to celebrate their 10th anniversary, no idea what and when but I guess it's worth keeping an eye out for some freebies.

Gameloft have more then 10 games out on the app store so I wonder if the free titles will be the 10 worst ones :P

Also Zombie Infection (RE5 clone by the looks of things) is out today, Trailer here.

Playing a lot of Sword & Poker 2. Love the new additions:

- I swear there are new powers and abilities.
- Enemies can have abilities such as curse and first attack.
- The golden enemies are actually an interesting addition.
- environmental effects (dark, damage etc).

Also, I'm sure there are more surprises to come, as S&P1 had loads of extra levels and stuff to last out a very long time.

Lastly, I find myself actually swapping out armour and weapons a lot more based on who I'm battling, sos there appears to more strategy. For example, the werewolf has first attack and can potentially make you forget your weapon specials, so it may be prudent to equip an armour that prevents that.
