I just made a new HYPER gameplay video of 180! (Remember those "Tetris Grand Master"videos?) You thought this game wasn't hardcore?

Also, big news on our game coming tomorrow!
That finger waving technique is going to go a long way to making me and my sister better. This game is currently the reason I'm outta battery on family night

I'm thinking if there will be games made exclusively for the Iphone 4, taking advantage of the extra horsepower and gyroscope.

I'm betting no though. Why would anyone ignore millions of Iphones and Touchs out there? Just look at Motion Plus...

One question though, what's the current pricepoint of 3GS (before the pricedrop that is)? $199?

The difference is the developer environment on the iPhone. There are so many independent developers that someone WILL just make an app that utilises the iPhone 4 to better effect. People will also buy that app just because it's the first out to take advantage. Eventually, someone will actually make something pretty compelling, and others will try and copy it. With such a large developing pool, it will definitely happen.

i blind-bought soccer superstars (since i love baseball superstars so much), and it's... weird, so far. don't know if it's something i can grow to appreciate or not, the gameplay is strange.

anyone else played/enjoyed it yet?

*Now* free? I had no idea it was even out! Would've paid for it, too.

Edit: No, I wouldn't. Controls are crap and framerate is very choppy, even on a 3GS.
Runs like shit on an iPad!

I'm betting yes. Won't be for a little while, but there will be more and more games that are 3GS/4 only first, and then, sooner or later, one will appear that needs the gyroscope, and then the floodgates'll open.

Might sound dumb, but the Words With Friends update is pretty good.
Also, Hook Champ Lite was updated. Downloading it in anticipation of Super Quick Hook.

When is that supposed to be out anyway? I thought that was submitted quite some time ago?

Zen Bound 3 using gyros is going to be so sexy.

Current 3GS pricepoint is 199 (16GB)/299 (32GB), iPhone 4 will use same price points.

I finally caved in iPhone games.

My first games were:
- Espgaluda II - Love it despite its expensive price
- Tumbledrop - Love it also, so cute and inexpensive
- Abigale - Meh, didn't like it that much.

Any suggestions of good games like shmups, puzzles, horror games, and anime-themed games? Although I enjoy platformers and RPGs, I prefer them on home consoles/PSP/DS.

Ok, the Carc app is brilliant. Easily the best boardgame rendition I've seen on a phone (or pretty much anything else). Great UI, voiced tutorial, local hotseat, bluetooth or internet multiplayer, in-game chat, on and offline ratings, 8 different AI players, solitaire mode, etc. This is the way to do it right.

After a couple hours with it yesterday completely agree with this. Only thing I would add would be some arbitrary achievements but the ELO vs. CPU is really nice in terms of keeping you going for just one more game. It's not as pretty as the XBLA version but imo it's actually far more functional.

Yeah, achievements would be nice. I do like the 3D cities and such on the XBLA version, but I'm glad this one has the original artwork and looks really nice when you zoom in. Now I need an iPad :D

Hopefully the expansions don't take too long to come out, I at least need Inns and Cathedrals. Kinda surprised they didn't include the River tiles with the base game, since they come with the actual boardgame these days. Why include it if you can make money on it later I guess...

Yep pinching works great, much better than the clumsy zoom in the XBLA version. The really addictive part is how quickly you can get through a game. Also love the varying AI behaviors. Currently playing the two Strongs and a Weird (juggler, who actually usually does pretty decently against this group). Witch can be really evil.

So I bought Assault Squadron, and I'm very disappointed with it. The controls are TERRIBLE. It feels incredibly inaccurate, awkward... I dunno how else to describe it. It's certainly nowhere near close to EspGaluda's controls. I really wanna like the game, but the controls certainly are a game breaker.

That is subsidised, though, right?
So if you want to switch, you'll have to pay off the subsidy, I guess.

Hey GAFfers, is it cool if I drop in here and whore our game?

It's called iQuarters, and it is available now. ($1.99)

Flick your quarter at the glasses, trying to sink 3 shots on each of the twelve levels. You can lay up easy to progress through, or go for trick shots and riccochets in order to embiggen your score.

I'm just winging this post so go to the ITme site or the direct Appstore link for the official spiel from our marketing department. Or not.

So far we have some pretty nice reviews and customer testimonials, so please check it out. Let me know what you think.

P.S.- It's universal.

So i've been limping along on the original iphone and it runs slow enough so that I haven't really been interested in gaming on it for a while now... anyone feel like catching me up with some of the bigger releases of the past year or so? (i'm sure this kinda of question gets asked a lot, you could also just view this as "hey give me your top 3-5 iphone games")

Also, another random question... but if I were to upgrade to the 3GS, could I then return it and get the iPhone 4 at the end of the month? My current phone is having a lot of issues (i've been holding out to upgrade for a long time) so even to have the 3GS to hold me off until the iphone 4 would be awesome. I think apple has a 30 day return policy for the iphones, so I don't see why it wouldn't work...

Our recently announced Flick Kick Football from our PikPok iPhone label has a gameplay video hot off the press

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c9zMXvQkZVk

The game was submitted last Friday, so hopefully gets approved by the end of the week. Should be another trailer out at launch, and I'll post here when the game goes live.

In related news, I know some of the team have moved onto rolling some of the latest tech, features, and bug fixes back into Flick Kick Rugby. There is strong possibility that Flick Kick Field Goal and Flick Kick Aussie Rules will get the same treatment (the latter is the most neglected of the series by us and needs some love).

Late to the party but did anyone pick up Metal Slug Touch a while back? Worth it? Itching for some Metal Slug but the reviews are 'meh.'

I just saw on twitter that Super QuickHook has been rejected for using a timezone calculation API. The developer also added that they are using that same API in the last update for Hook Champ, but that update wasn't rejected. WTF Apple??

I believe the channel has mostly been drained of 3GS units at this point anyhow, so trying to find one may be futile. I'd just wait for the 4, save yourself the hassle of doing the return and swap.

If you have an iPhone with AT&T and your contract wears out in 2010 (or is already worn out), it's $199/$299 for an iPhone 4. If you have an iPhone and your contract wears out *after* 2010, it's $399/499. If you want to buy an iPhone 4 with no AT&T service at all, it's $599/$699.

I wish Softbank were that generous. My two years 3G contract will be up in Dec. They'll likely still try to charge me $700 for the iPhone 4.

There is a chance that i will get ipod touch 1st gen, how will it manage games?

Are games still produced with that older hardware in mind?

It's the slowest of all the devices, slower than the first gen iPhone even. Sell it while it still has value...if it has much value left.

I didnt get it yet.

What about 2ndgen Touch, is it comparable to 3G iphone?

I've got an 8gb 2nd gen Touch, works fine for me. Rarely get any slowdown (only time I can really recall having any is when playing Heavy Mach 2).

Any good Japanese games or anything associated with kawaii~ness or anime (like Espgaluda)? :P

It kicks the ass of the 3G touch, although it's basically just from a mhz increase, 533 vs 400 I think.

The 3rd gen is where there's a huge boost all around, and likely going to be the cutoff point going forward, but the 2nd gen ain't bad otherwise. Just realize that you may not be able to run newer stuff going forward, like Espgaluda II for example.

kinda off topic, and on, but I think the thing that really has me sold other than the better OS on the new phone is iMovie... honestly I wish it was free but that thing is going to make my life alot easier since I do video editing alot and having something small on the go is great... I hope the framrate isn't shit though.

Could find some random game by a japanese developer...like DAN-BALL! Sometimes in related apps you'll find other random japanese stuff.

I'm watching the D8 interview with Jobs (from last week or so) and he was asked about stuff that may not be possible now, but could be in the future. Video editing happened to be one of the ones he mentioned. Wonder if there's any other stuff he mentioned that could be coming soon.

OK apparently, this Touch that i "might" get is 2nd gen 8giger. That version was introduced late, does it still have 533Mhz clock speed?

Yeah, it's the current $199 one actually. They basically kept it around as a low end cheap model like they kept the iPhone 3G around.

This deserves another quoting. Listen to this man, folks! If you're at all interested in board games pick up Carcassonne right away. They really knocked it out of the park.

Srsly, I almost think it deserves its own thread. Up to 1450 ELO right now playing the CPU.
