1. Amazing is awesome.
2. Robocop has sick production, but the lyrics definitely kill some of my high.
3. The best part in Amazing is the rap (not lyrically[Jeezy, lol], but just in general)
4. The vocoder is not a "more soulful" way of self-expression, Kanye. You sang okay on "Spaceship". You can't sing live, but hell, neither can half of these pop-stars.
5. Why'd you put a live track on this album? Seriously.
6. Coldest Winter is a great song.
7. I can't get through the first minute of "Welcome to Heartbreak".

This album is hard to digest. Plenty of highs, plenty of lows. Won't be on my year-end list, but its an interesting listen none-the-less.

I am really liking "Bad News" and "Robocop"

Say You Will is like my heartbreak anthem. I love this album solely for the fact that you can really feel every emotion he wanted to convey. The lyrics are really powerful stuff.

wasn't sure if I liked kanye west and this new album is .... odd. The tonebox singing is sort of annoying? But then, he took a chance and went all mental so this is good?

:S

its very melodic though. I like. :)

awesome and well deserved imo. Carter III as number 1 is bullshit though. why does lil wayne get so much love?!

Because "A Milli" is a great track. Why bother hating? Just accept it and move on with your life.

Oh god i hate A Milli. Lil Wayne fell off my radar after the disappointment that was Tha Carter II, i gave Tha Carter 3 a listen to see if he returned to his Carter 1 form...and i was very dissapointed. And A Milli, IMO, is one of the worst tracks on Tha Carter 3, and thats saying alot. This Guy says some of the most unintelligent things on his albums, yet they sell./end rant

not really hating. just dont understand why he is so critically acclaimed. i dont see anything that sets him apart from any other rapper.

Streetlights is probably the best track on the album. I love it.

u should find the leaked version if you like the song. i personally prefer it. its the exact same song except there is less static behind is voice. his voice is clear and sounds very good.

Just like I don't understand how Kanye is so critically acclaimed. I've learned to trust my own tastes and let others do the same.

1. i know he does, his verse on Put On is one of my favs. i meant that comment more as a guess than fact.

2. no you. if this is regarding my comment about not wanting him to rap...well listening to that jamie foxx song his lack of rap skills kinda showed more than usual imo. some of his rhymes are just silly. they are silly in 808s too, but they have more meaning when hes singing. he should definitely keep both styles imo.

Even though he has mediocre rapping skills, his singing skills are even worse.
And the only reason his rhymes have meaning is because they are about his mum and ex.
What is he going to sing about next time?

thats true, they are worse. it just doesnt stand out as much when hes singing though with the autotune. maybe i just really like the beats and that makes me like his singing. i dont know, but im loving 808s kanye.

Interesting interview with Kanye saying he's bigger than Elvis
http://www.myghettotv.com/video/197/kanye-bigger-then-elvis

And once again taking on homophobia in hip hop: "I think a lot of gay people dress really good, you should take tips from them to advance your style of dress." May be an asshole but I like that he's taking the entire industry on with respect to that issue.

I don't like the album but I like the fact that he's moving away from building songs around samples - at least saying he will in the future. His recent rap beats have been extremely lazy imo (Brooklyn Go Hard, Jockin Jay-Z, Swagger like Us)

After listening to the album for a while, I'd have to say my favorite songs are RoboCop, Heartless, and Paranoid.

Though i think Paranoid has to be my favorite of the 3.

It's nice that he wants to take on homophobia in hip hop, but he kinda shot him self in the foot when he used the word 'faggot' in grammy family, granted it wasn't directed towards a gay person, but he himself had said he doesn't like the use of the word.

i was watching his interview on the Ellen Degeneres show and he says that he loves her style and more men should dress like her. fucking hilarious :lol

Listened to this. I can't believe some people like Robocop, it's really bad. Generally liked the rest though.
Robocop is amaaaaazing. I mean the whole concept of it is kinda goofy, but the beat/music is PERFECT. God I love this CD.

I'm a big fan of Kanye's and I love his typical sound, but I think this is his best, most complete album for me.

I feel so bad about this, but i love See you in my Nightmares.

Because of Lil' Wayne, you feel bad? He's hugely overrated, but the dude doesn't suck. At least he's interesting and sounds kind of different than what's out there.

Yeah. Atleast, I CONSIDERED myself a fan before but I've pretty much fallen in love with the guy because of this album. Robocop is the only track that I'm still "eh" about but I love the concept about a girl being really anal and monitoring her bf.

Paranoid is without a doubt the best song on the album. God, it's awesome. Dance-worthy to the max!

It's full of 80's vibe. It could have been on GTA: Vice City and most wouldn't know that there was a 25 year difference in the release of the songs.

Hell yes, it feels like he was channeling 99 redballoons or something with that...I love it.

I'm torn between Hearless, Amazin, and Love Lockdown for second.

The beat is ok and the use of flutes is different, but the lyrics...

You can get the whole mixtape here, I think.

I like the beat a lot. Admittedly I know the lyrics aren't great (but hey, Kanye's lyrics have never been something of a masterpiece), but I kind of like a song based on its beat more than the lyrics.

The mixtape looks great though, thanks.

I like Paranoid and Heartless the best. If the advance versions of RoboCop and Welcome To Heartbreak (especially WtHB) were on the disc, those would definitely be up there as well.

Street Lights is my personal second. So... moving, and I love the fact that it's a cyclical song. He just keeps making the same mistake over and over again, even if he thinks he's moving on.

This was my favorite track on the CD, but I definitely preferred the first beat over the redone version.

Here's the Video, some weird ass "special features":

Welcome to Heartbreak ft. Kid Cudi (who was at a Reebok sponsored party during the all-star game, and got into a fight with security because he wouldn't take off his Nikes which matched his shoes :lol

You did it wrong, dude.:lol Nevermind, stealth edited.

Anyway, there is only one possible reason this thread should have been bumped and that is: Reckoner vs. Love Lockdown

Finally, that song is listenable to me.

Well i finally sat down and listened to this after becoming obsessed by 'Paranoid' and wow great album, when he first announced it was using auto tune that turned me right off but the use here is great love how desolate and distant it makes the songs sound yet somehow retains some humanity.

Great stuff.:D

I loved this album something fierced and listened to it so much that I can't really listen to it anymore. But I think its really clever, great melody and effecting. Really does deserve album of the year.

lttp on this.... but i know virtually nothing about kanye west outside of his public persona, downloaded this album on a whim a few months ago... it is fucking amazing. unfortunately it is a little under-produced, and see you in my nightmare is fucking terrible ("you think your ish don't stink, but you ms. P.U.!" i mean, really?), but i listen to it every day. I start every morning with Paranoid. makes my morning commute bearable
