You know, I expected this album to be complete trash when I first heard Love Lockdown, but I'm really loving it. I've been listening to it all day. I still hate that autotune bullshit with a passion and I don't care for Kanye's lyrics on the majority of the tracks, but I think the production is fucking amazing. So amazing. :D

I usually like unusual/quirky shit though, so I might be in the minority.

So I spun this like three more times since I posted, add Heartless and Paranoid to the list of good shit. The rest of this album I could do without, especially the shit with Wayne and Jeezy.
I've always hated Wayne and Jeezy, but the beats on those two songs are so good imo that their presence doesn't bother me. I really want the instrumentals for this album.

Paper or plastic?
It had the opposite effect on me. I can't stand it. The overuse of vocoder, too much singing. Way to melodramatic. It has good production but that is to be expected. I'm going back to Graduation and never looking back. Eck!

How exactly do you use that as a negative in music? :lol

Anyway, I've been listening to it non-stop. It's amazing.

Um, I don't? I find it a negative when the voice belongs to Kanye West altered to hell by a machine. It's out of place to me. He can't sing, and no amount of electronic distortion is going to change that.

Sounds fine on "Coldest Winter".

I really dig this CD, and I'm actually surprised I do. Its just so cool, thats the only way I can describe it. Heartless is a great driving song.

There's like 5 great songs on this album. The rest is trash. I give it a 3 out of 5 mics.

After awhile I forget he can't sing. I guess that's praise of sorts.

I hated on Love Lockdown, but I can enjoy the album. I think he comes out of it a more interesting artist at least. His next album will be interesting.

This is exactly what I been thinking. Does he keep doing this autotune singing or does he go back to Graduation style?

Loving the album.

"Street Lights" sounds like Kanye doing Death Cab For Cutie (remixed by Kanye West & Daft Punk. Best indie/emo track in a long while, coming from a hiphop artist!

Woohooo! I saw the Glow in the Dark show last night here in Auckland, it was totally awesome. Yeezy did all of the good stuff from Graduation (Good Life was incredible - he milked the ending for about 10 minutes), a couple of old songs and then he did all the good shit from 808's, apart from my fave which is RoboCop. Love Lockdown was his final song, which was amazing with the live drums, and it went on for about 10-15 minutes.

Yay! My first time seeing Kanye live.

On inital playthrough nothing particulary grabbed me like Flashing Lights, Homecoming or even to a lesser extent Big Brother. I also hated the idea of auto-tunning moment heard leak of Love Lockdown.

Replaying a few songs through the day I have to say it's starting to grow on me. I do hope this is an experiment rather than an established style going forward.

im scratching my head at this album. At first I didnt like the sound overall...too dancey and club mix, but now its growing on me. Like the warm feeling you get after drinking a finely aged scotch its spreading throughout my body and I like it.

I'm wondering what the jewel case brings too. I bought the Paper case because It said "limited edition" on it. :p I love the poster of him kissing his mom.

I've been listening to the album on my ipod daily, and most of my friends who initially hated the CD are saying it's growing on them.

Did he say that? Lol the album should go 10x platinum!

And at least that confirms that ho isnt going to get any Kanye beats. Well played Mr West! Dont do a NeYo

found out the jewel case doesnt have the lyrics book that the paper case does. im returning the jewel but leaving the paper one wrapped in case the new version in mid december comes with even more stuff.

For one the very very last song on the album. No not Coldest Winter. The real last song which is live.

1. its a bonus track
2. lyrics are amazing, would be awesome if it was studio
3. not trash.

Amazon has the vinyl online for pre-order last time I checked. I'm thinking about buying it too.
According to Amazon it contains:
2 Full-length LPs in Tri-fold Gatefold Jacket, 1 Copy of the album on CD, Double-sided Poster and Lyric Sheets

I've listened through the album once and I'm feeling it at all, hopefully it grows on me in the next few days but as it stands now... it's trash IMO.

1. Amazing is awesome.
2. Robocop has sick production, but the lyrics definitely kill some of my high.
3. The best part in Amazing is the rap (not lyrically[Jeezy, lol], but just in general)
4. The vocoder is not a "more soulful" way of self-expression, Kanye. You sang okay on "Spaceship". You can't sing live, but hell, neither can half of these pop-stars.
5. Why'd you put a live track on this album? Seriously.
6. Coldest Winter is a great song.
7. I can't get through the first minute of "Welcome to Heartbreak".

This album is hard to digest. Plenty of highs, plenty of lows. Won't be on my year-end list, but its an interesting listen none-the-less.

Cover yourself, the hailstorm of stones is coming. :lol He's become victim of his ego. It's kinda sad though. I liked Kanye as an artist and he's pretty obviously one of the best producers in the industry. So hopefully he'll rebound. But this album is very poor. I can't recall hearing a record that felt so terribly rushed. Giving it 3/5 is too generous, IMO. I can't recommend it to anyone other than the Flavor-of-the-Week groupies and/or the hardcore Kanye fans who have to like anything he does.

The live track is a bonus track, not even listed on the back. Kind of unfair to hold that against it. And it's pretty great.

I like the lyrics in "Robocop" because it's really the only silly/fun portion of the album. I actually like the end too. It's just playful and tongue-in-cheek.

Not liking "Welcome to Heartbreak" makes me sad. The synth fucking kills in my car. Love it.

"Amazing is God damn catchy.
