Your Discord isn’t sync’d with the main site. No one except the bot can post in the new threads channels. There are a few channels missing, where the general discussion occurs. For whatever reason the sync can be a bit buggy. You might have to try a few times to get it to sync properly. Your username will turn blue when it goes through.

You won’t be able to post a thread until you’re a full member.

So it can verify your account. The Discord isn’t meant for the general public I assume. Once verified there are a few extra channels but overall, it’s not overly active. Most just post on the site but it’s a nice hangout spot. I like it for new threads and the general chatter.

Hi all, I'm Koppelthorn. I'm a hobbyist game developer and I used to lurk here around 2014/2015 when MGSV was real hype and it was all crazy. Those were the days. I love the Metal Gear series and horror games, but sadly I have little time to play. Shitty video games are my dirty pleasure, love me some bad gaems. Right now just have a PS5 & okish laptop.

Some of my favorite games are

• The MGSV Experience (Best story out of all of them; thats my death hill hehehe),
• MGS(PSX)
• Dark Souls
• P.T
• Ib
• Undertale
• RIDGE RACER TYPE 4
• VA11-HALLA and some others that I can't remember. I like small relatively niche games more often than not so I try and keep my eye out for them. But I also try to keep the pulse of the wider game industry at large in mind.
• Six Feet Under is one of the best TV shows and it's sad no one talks about it much anymore

I signed up here because frankly I just wanted to talk to (mostly) sensible people about the game industry and where its heading, and everyone here for the most part is nice or has a good head on their shoulders. There are many interesting opinions and viewpoints on the game industry here as well and I find that listening to you guys helps keeps my games sane when I plan them out. So I hope to have some great discussions!

Actually: it ran surprisingly ok with decent custom graphics settings on a Ryzen 3600/RX 5500 XT, runs very nice now with a 5800X3D/7900 XTX everything ultra. First non-Linux-native game I've purchased in a decade and it was definitely worth it.

Hi! I... actually can't remember how long ago I actually created an account here, but just found my way back to the site and realized I'd registered at some point.

Been gaming since I was a kid back on the NES, and honesty still mull over the idea of trying to transition my career to *something* in the video-game industry (currently work in digital marketing). Thought I might enjoy making some kind of podcast, if I ever found a couple folks to chat with regularly.

Sorta funny I haven't been active on this site more, given how much I love any kind of gaming news, and NeoGAF is so often cited as a source for all kinds of cool stories about all sorts of games.

Anyway; big fan of basically everything Capcom was putting out in the 90's, always on the lookout for a new MMO to get lost in, and really love most genres, save for probably Puzzles, Sports, and most Survival-Horror (although those are a blast to play with friends, imo). Current in the NoVa/DC area, planning to move to Orlando probably towards the end of the year (barring any major changes). Definitely looking forward to a day I can have a fully dedicated "gaming room" where I can finally display all the gaming crap I've hoarded over the years.
