Quick question.

Is Jinpachi unlockable? I assumed just Devil Jin cause there's only room for one more, but wanted to confirm.

Also, how do I unlock the church stage (devil jin's) and "ground zero" (jinpachi) stage?

No, it sucks bad. It has crap animation and doesn't follow the actual Tekken story at all. It's like an animated version of MK Annihilation. Some really bizarre stuff in it, like Heihachi catching an axe with his teeth and Alex the raptor biting off Anna's head.

Just added wings to Jin and that's it.

I'm spending all my other points on just costumes.

Shame you can't customize those costumes though :(

My Kuma, at Tekken Lord rank, has white fur and black shades. He's so badass.

I've been spending all my money on the costumes. I've bought sunglasses and alt colors for my favorite characters, but that's about it. Oh, and a samurai sword for Hei which looks really cool.

Some of the stuff is too expensive. It's particularly annoying with a few characters like Hei and Devil Jin, where nearly ALL of their stuff is over 100,000 G. Why so unbalanced with prices for them? I can understand having SOME items be uber expensive, but not all. It also seems like prices are completely random. A pair of shades will be 30,000 for one character but then 200,000 for another. A jug on your back will be 60,000 but a knife will be 500,000. Why?

In the arcade version it's kind of cool that everything costs so much. Makes customization special. It feels really good to finally earn something and for your character to be different than everyone else. There's no reason for it to be so expensive when you're just playing at home. Thank god they let you see what you're buying on PS2 though. On arcade you can't see stuff so you'll spend 60,000 on something that ends up looking horrible. On arcade they don't even tell you which color is for which article of clothing. Spending 18,000 G just to turn Kazuya's gloves black was a huge pain.

Is it possible to get rid of that box that is in front of your character when selecting the customizing items? I hate it when that thing gets in the way of my view of the items/colours.

Is there any way to make Starblade during the loading sequence - playable. That stupid targeting cursor moves all over the screen as soon as I move the analog stick one milimeter off center O_o

Jinpachi is annoying if you're fighting him like you would a real person, but if you're fighting him the "i just want everything unlocked and don't care to play single player" cheeze move way it's pretty easy.

It's the fast characters (asuka, nina, xiahou, etc) on stage 7-8 that give me a problem, cause then I have to start off my cheeze with a quick jab otherwise their higher priority owns me.

Yeah, if go try anything fancy on Jinpachi he just starts whaling away with his stun hits. All I do is sidestep and hit him with strong blow that usually knocks the opponent down or sends him flying.

He's still a punk ass bitch thought, last night I was trying to beat him with Feng and he throws 2 fireballs one after the other so I sidestep twice and somehow the 2nd one either was a heat seeker or Jinpachi has freaking tank wheels in his feet that allow him to spin on the same place, cause it hit me.

Tekken fully embraces its stupid, and thats to its credit.

I love the fact that Tekken has a story for each character, and they all relate just a little bit. Very campy stuff!! I love it!

I do fine with the sensitivity, just remember its analog so move it only slightly ;P
Yeah, I was exaggerating - it's possible to play, but it's annoying >:( You have to admit it feels very wrong when you move the stick maybe one third or one fourth of it's full range, and the reticle moves all the way to the edge of the screen.

Can someone with this game unlocked, go to it's test menu and see if there's some kind of analog sensitivity setting?

Jinpachi's easy if you play like a scrub. Just alternate low and high hits -- with Paul, I just crouch + LK, then double-tap forward + RK for a punt to the face. I managed to unlock six characters last night just with this strategy, although with Anna I only needed to crouch+LK ad nauseum. Jinpachi might as well be a DoA boss, he's so gimmicky and lame.

Heh, he's got one more fireball attack too. One where that mouth opens up and spits out about a dozen rapid fire fireballs that travel a very short distance. I haven't seen him do it on the console version yet but I did see him do it once in the arcade. He tends to do it when you get really good at sidestepping the two fireball attack. He's like "okay lets see you dodge THIS!!!".

The only thing that annoys me about Tekken 5 is its customization mode. I think it's weak that some characters don't have an extra costume to unlock. The items you can buy for the head and body are fairly limited, too. Kind of feels half-assed to me. That's all right though, since the game is great otherwise. I love the retarded cutscenes in story mode, especially Paul's. :lol

It's probably already been asked, but how many levels is the Devil Within mini-game? All I want is Devil Jin.

5 levels. But you can unlock devil Jin by just playing like 200 games or something. No need to go through the torture that is Devil Within.

damn, i want another one of these sticks but they dont sell em separate... 2 player game, 1 stick.. argh... is this stick based off of any particular one?

I think im gonna start using Julia, forgot how much she R00lz u all.

That's so unlike you MAF. Julia is actually a good character to use. Considering your usual love for worthless fighting game characters (Kasumi, Q, Hinako, etc) I'm more than a little surprised. Are you sure you didn't mean to say Kuma? :D

I was using Asuka but she seemed, 'too easy'. I dunno. I like the underdogs and the challenges more than winning more often than not.

Haha, I know exactly what you mean. I started using Julia and now Anna, too. I want to use King but I feel like I need to work up to him. :)

Do I even want to bother learning all of Anna (and I guess Nina too)'s multi hit throws? Someone told me they are all very easy to get out of and not worth using.
