The Order 1886 Gamescom Gameplay Trailer

Looks fantastic. This is the game that's gonna make me buy a PS4 before uncharted 4 and GT7 drop.

Just because gameplay is generic (which it isn't) doesn't mean its bad.

Gameplay: Solid
Story: Solid
Graphics: Solid
Music: Solid
Setting: Solid

The game will be great.

We've seen almost no gameplay at all, and all we've seen has been like this:

1. Hide behind cover
2. Pop out
3. Shot a couple of rounds
4. Go back in
5. Rinse
6. Repeat
7. QTE/Non interactive insta-kill takedown for good measure

If that isn't generic I don't know what is. They may have more to show us but so far they haven't.

Also, we barely know anything about the story. For all we know it could be slow and boring, with terrible writing. We know a bit about the premise, but that doesn't mean much. The developers have shown suspiciously little besides the pretty graphics. I would hold back on judging this game just yet.

8. Time manipulation/ Infamous Photo mode/ Shoot-bangs: Awesome!

You know, I never get why trailers bother to announce when games won/nominated for x amount of awards at E3, etc. It seems like a pointless way to generate hype/excitement for a game, kinda like when movie commercials put quotes from critics saying they 'like' the movie.

Anyways, this trailer has the hype train going again. Can't wait for February~

Yea, should have shown the same time slowdown mechanism a dozen times and shooting with the same pistol. Then the game is awesome?

This is as close as we'll ever get to be a commissar in the Imperial Guard in WH40K, day one purchase :)

Very impressed.

Best trailer for the game so far. Now show some of that soft-body-physics that they were hyping at the beginning. Haven't heard or seen anything about that in a long time. The game is a graphical powerhouse, but what got me initially interested in this game and it's next-gen qualities was the notion of soft body rendering of the environments, cause that's something that we haven't really seen in a game like this.

Graphically, it looks incredible, but to call this a gameplay trailer ?? I hope to hell that this is only the tip of the iceberg, because there's not a single mechanic that's new or refreshing.

well, Quantum Break looks more dynamic and the time freeze thing could be a nice change. This looks like more like Gears of War, in terms of the way characters move, not expecting anything too exciting in terms of gameplay.
I guess setting, setpieces and presentation are what will make or break the game.

So what you're saying is that it's a TPS.... so I'm guessing you find stuff like Gears generic too? What exactly would make it not generic in your eyes?

"Bu-bu-but Quantum break is even more generic", just stop it, guy gave his feelings for gameplay, which aren't that far fetched. Either way, damn good looking and first game i'm gonna get for PS4, or hell, the reason I'll get one.

Not bashing QB. I liked both the trailers - QB and Order. Just got carried away reading those weird arguments.

max pene is just a cool guy he has nothing to do with my opinoisn on videa gem
Ur wot, m8?

I'm saying that it needs some sort of gimmick; something to make it interesting. A mechanic that isn't pressing L1 followed by R1 over and over again. Either that or they need to make their shooting more interesting within the mechanics that they already have. In games like Uncharted you move around a lot and mix up the gunplay with melee, which suddenly makes things way more interesting. In The Order there seems to be barely any movement at all.

Slightly less hyped, I want to see more monsters, and I really hope werewolves aren't the only ones. I can only guess they are reserving the rest for the full release.

Graphics look fantastic, didn't think the trailer itself was as ominous or as well put together as the other stuff we have seen.

While pretty much everybody will agree the actual gameplay is nothing new, for me at least ( and I imagine for most hyped for this) it's the setting and story ideas.

Lol at that camera pan up when walking in the cathedral. Gotta make sure you show off the graphics because the gameplay isn't that compelling.

As someone who played the game at E3, I can say the gameplay I got a taste of was very compelling. It wasn't perfect, but it was a lot of fun, and looked amazing as well, but that goes without saying when it comes to The Order's visuals.

Now this is some valid criticism, unlike your previous post.
And yes, i do share such thoughts.

Enjoyed this trailer more than the other things we have seen recently, Ready at Dawn made some amazing games so I feel like the team will deliver.

Amazing trailer. Loving the atmosphere, locales, visuals, and most of all, the look of the gunplay. Looks immensely satisfying. Weapons that look and feel powerful, leaving debris, sparks, particles, bullet trails and carnage everywhere. And some fun weapon types too, from the concussion shotgun, through to the thermite rifle etc.

Graphically though, this segment more than any other impressed me the most.
