Hi OneLetter, a friend of mine is totally sure that the lighting and filters are different from in game and cutscene and that this thing is really noticeable! I can't see this difference but it's true ? There are difference between cutscene litghting and filters and gameplay ?

Well actually it looked as if that was what happened after the wolf through him through that window, looked like he was under a desk or something like that. But the elevator bit must be a branching path.

Your rite... The part im pinpointing is when he was back peddling while firing the rifle (from the previous trailer too) but the weapon of choice was different therefore the interaction was different.

The air pulse seemed way more effective on the half breed then the rifle. Rolling dice letting him get that close though

Guys guys, in the waiting of the OneLetter answer, someone has noticed this different lighting thing between cut scene and gameplay that my friend is talking about ?

Got to be honest. I'm not usually a cynic but a lot of the negativity about the gameplay is starting to maybe make me doubt.

But I still have faith in RAD. They have proven themselves to be very competent developers and I trust that while it may indeed end up being generic, it will be a very solid game.

What isn't generic is the art and overall look of the game, it's fantastic. The story also looks like it will be quite compelling.

Generic or not, the art and storyline looks like it's going to get me over the line with this game, no doubt.

Pretty sure RAD have already stated that there is absolutely no difference what so ever between cut scenes and gameplay.

But if I remember correctly, there isn't a difference between cut-scene and gameplay, it's all in-game and realtime, isn't it? So how would there be a difference?

Looks great! And dare I say, fun?

Are black bars really that unappealing to some of you? You must not like watching any movie shot anamorphic..ever..

I bought a widescreen TV to alleviate that issue.

Now it's BACK! Except this time it's for reasons.

i know that they already stated this and i suppose it's a visionary thing from my friend.....but i really would like some proof from rad for my friend so he can shut his mouth! :P

I know, i know, and i can't understand how the lighting can change on the fly if the graphic is always the same...and i can't see any change but he is convinced about this and for him is obvious the difference O_O

Loved the gunplay, the recoil was great. This is very similar to Gears to me 8 years ago. Amazing graphics and presentation with satisfying 3rd person action gameplay.

Can't wait

I personally believe that if you're making a game purely for the story and setting, you're making it for the wrong reason, which is that you can't afford to make a movie. Especially if you're not planning on making player interaction a large part of the story, which this doesn't seem to do.

I don't think games are a good medium for storytelling. In fact, I firmly believe that they're one of the worst, since you constantly need to interrupt the story for gameplay. I feel as if the only reason The Order is a game, is that RAD is already a video game developer. My guess is that if HBO came to RAD and told everyone not working on gameplay "Here's 200 million Dollarydoos, go make a TV series", they would accept that offer. I think that's a terrible mindset for making a game.

Then good thing you arent making a game that is cinematic. It is great that you are the supreme talent that must dictate what people are allowed to make, but some people don't want to make everything tailor to you personally.

They are making the game they want to make. And you are embarassingly ignorant for asserting your views on the developer... What a great way to start as a junior. Yeesh.

The arrogance some of you exude is insane. Like you literally think you are more in tuned and experienced about the game industry than a team of creatives. I understand not liking something, but lets relax with the what, "games should be" speeches.

Am I the only one who doesn't even notice the black bars unless I make note to look for them? lol

No, no your not. I've watched movies that deliberately switch as the movie is playing and even after being told they do it I still can't tell. For me it's not even close to being an issue.

Looks like a 60GB download incoming.

Melee animation looks a bit janky still, hopefully WIP and not final.

I hope they'll include optional aim assist and photo mode as well.

Looks both interesting and kind of bland at the same time - I'm hoping more of the former.

Also keeping my fingers crossed Amazon continues to honour that $15 price glitch for the full LE.

As was the case with Ryse for me am loving the overall art direction in Order 1886, as well. Looking forward to it. I enjoy a cinematic gameplay experience such as Ryse and Order every now and then.

I wasn't even going to buy it, I'm glad I did because it was amazing.

I actually still don't have it, but I keep hearing wonderful things. Watching parts of it on YouTube though makes it seem overrated for some reason. If it's as good as everyone says then it's a testament to how games shouldn't be judged until you've experienced it for yourself.

Great trailer, really should have been there first reveal as the older ones were not that great.

Really warming to the setting/art style after first not thinking i would like it, and i am glad to see the story sounds really interesting.

All that remains is that the gunplay / gameplay is solid which is a bit hard to judge in these quick shots.

The gunplay looks kind of nice and meaty. With weapon recoil too and ridiculous weaponry too? Thanks RAD! Challenge accepted! Also, people really need to shut the fuck up with the 'looks generic' comment in every one of these threads regarding the gameplay. It's pretty funny to me because from the TPS's I've played over the past few years don't even play like the others (Mass Effect, Uncharted games, Max Payne 3, Gears of War, Red Dead Redemption, GTA IV).

I guess you could say the closest game to this would be Gears, but even there are already a ton of differences in terms of weapon recoil, FOV, and weightiness, and the melee system / interactive cut scenes. It's going to feel different from other TPS's and you're probably going to have to play it to understand that.

I think that the unique weapons, visuals, and dialogue will be standouts from what I've seen so far. Gunplay I won't truly know until I try playing it.

I've stayed pretty positive on this game overall, despite the previous poor showings, just because I've enjoyed RAD's prior PSP stuff and know they are wizards. Can't say I was really feeling the weaponry in previous showings though. Here, a bunch of stuff looks a lot better. And man, that little submachine gun at the end (looks like a luger on full-auto steroids) looked like a wild one. Dat muzzle flip should be fun to master.
