Penny Arcade Adventures Episode 2 Releasing Next Wednesday
Hothead promises longer gameplay at a new, lower price.

PlayStation 3 users may just be getting Episode 1 of Penny Arcade Adventures today, but everyone else will be getting its sequel next week. Developer Hothead Games has announced (via Kotaku) that Penny Arcade Adventures: On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness Episode Two will be available October 29 on the PC via the Greenhouse digital distribution service for $14.95 and Xbox LIVE Arcade for 1200 Microsoft Points ($14.99).

Hothead CEO Vlad Ceraldi said of the news, "With the cool gameplay additions we've made, including longer gameplay, completion tracking, and difficulty settings; extra Lovecraftian overtones in the world and music; and the perfect time of the year, everything just came together."

Also included in the game is a song during the end credits by Canadian rock band The Darkest Hillside Thickets called "Some Things Man Was Not Meant to Know," a track "dedicated to promoting the literature of H.P. Lovecraft."

Just in case you were wondering, yes, this means that next week will now be even more expensive. Goodbye, money.

Release Dates for the PSN and Steam versions remain unknown at this time.

I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that if you do not import your old guy, you will be able to create your new guy at the old max level when you start Episode 2.

awesome. loved the first one, can't wait for this. they really cranked them out, I'd thought it'd take them way longer to get to episode 2, but I may be pessimistic due to the fact that I'm garnering a fine stank and a layer of dust waiting for Half Life 2 Ep 3.

I would probably be getting this day 1 if it wasn't for the fact they made the poor decision to release it in the busiest few weeks of the year. Seriously, it's mainly a download game, there's no reason they couldn't have just released it at the end of November or early December.

Well, the story leads right on over from the first game. I guess if you didn't have a character from Episode 1 to bring over, the game would accommodate for that, but still, definitely play Episode 1 first. It's only been like six months, so there's not much of a difference, gameplay-wise, and it's a ton of fun.

Anywho, I've spent the last hour or so playing, and the only real difference I've caught is that health items don't revive anymore - there are still revives, but those are their own items. Other than that, same old same old, and I'm loving it. If it weren't for the fact that I need sleep, I'd probably play all night.

there's the upgrade machine in the World Fair stage...it's a metal and blu vertical kind of tube

btw, this game does have lots of problem, but damn, I do like it...and they defenetly fixed a couple of issues from ep.1, I enjoied Ep 2 more than some mainstream titles out in this last moths.

I think the game bugged out on me...I know it's been a while but since it was cheaper a few weeks back,maybe someone can remember...I need 3 more silk to give to Anne-Claire but the section where the Spiders are has crumbled down now,I can't get back in there,nothing else happens now,I gave her the 2 I had but she wants 3 more...no ticket if I don't bring here those,so nothing happens in the Sanitarium...there's no more fights anywhere?? looks like it's a glitch...anyone heard about this? I love the Penny Arcade games but i'm not starting over...
