Polygon lives in a bubble, very much like Microsoft. Shaun McIlroy keep deleting every critic in every news or article that people post in the commentary section.

I don't think Nintendo/Game Freak/The Pokemon Company/whoever would risk killing their handheld Golden Goose just to try and prop-up a failing system.

Yeah that was kind of the point I was making after my initial statement. If it was just Nintendo involved in Pokemon I could see them using the license to prop up the Wii U. But when CJ reminded me that Nintendo alone does not control Pokemon, I realized that probably wouldn't happen.

"I suck at farting." - CJ 2014

I disagree with Mike about the art in South Park. There is a lot of awesome animations and cutscenes. While they aren't super detailed, the amount of work to animate the lip sync and some of the special scenes probably took some time to make. The amount of VO was pretty incredible. I also encountered next to no bugs in the game. Only had two parts where the bg music/audio stopped but resetting fixed it.

I didn't mind the delay. The game is super polished and was a lot of fun.

Neil Druckmann wrote Ellie and she was an amazing character, so hopefully ND can keep the trend of good female characters in their games going even in the absence of Amy Hennig. It still sucks so see her go, though.

Watched the last Generation 16. Cant wait for the Ayrton Senna version.

Can't wait for next week's special Titanfall episode of the Player One Podcast. Its going to be the longest one ever!

Epic spoilercast.

Actually I'm probably more interested in continuing to play Plants Vs. Zombies than I am for Titanfall. That may seem strange but Garden Warfare is just that much fun.

Doesn't seem strange at all. It's one of only two xbone games that are tempting me to buy the system. The other being that Max game which I don't think any of you guys ever played, did you?

Also, I'm tired of this bullshit about comparing Mario RPG and South Park and I expected Greg of anyone to be right with me. This combat is straight out of BioWare's finest work, Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood.

There is more than just pressing a button in time. You need to move sticks, twirl sticks, press buttons and sometimes play rhythm games! It's complex and deep just like the wonderful BioWare masterpiece.

Sometimes CJ really sounds like the GAF collective if it were to speak.

In which way? :D What did I do?

The news topics you bring to the show and your responses usually play out like once a crazy gaf thread is done, you voice the general takeaway. I feel like I'm reading P1 spoilers for next week if I come to gaming-side.

That's not all bad, so I didn't mean it to sound like it. Gaming-side is a great thing, right?

I won't be playing with you anytime soon. No interested with PvZ GW until it's like $20

You should really try out Battlefield 4 sometime. I tired of the typical CoD-like FPS years ago but the class-based warfare of Battlefield is something special (plus it seems to be fairly stable for me these days playing on PS4).

I might be right with you. I haven't actually played South Park yet (copy hasn't arrived). I'll also need my memory refreshed on Mario RPG. I only ever played throug hit once and, honestly, it did not leave a lasting impression. I seem to remember thinking that the idea of the Mario cast being in an RPG was way more interesting than the game itself.

The combat is actually more in common with the Paper Mario or M&L. But South Park is pretty deep with all the buffs and debuffs. I really enjoyed the combat. And if it's too easy, play on Hard. I thought it had the right amount of challenge for me on Normal. I played as a Fighter.

So Giant Bomb, Edge and Game Informer are the big three that didn't score TitanFall before it launched. Still I personally wish the number was bigger but change comes in slow sometimes.

A few answers for the gang!

Gregorian Chant: If your hand was a fish and your face a taco... all weather tires, or something.

Christopher: Shaving the raccoon's tail is child abuse.

Utah: Roller skates.

Pile Bald: Pine tar bikini wax.

Thanks for your time? I look forward to the questions.

We were pretty much wrong about everything Titanfall related. Or, at least I was.

  • Servers will be perfect.
  • Everyone will review the game AND give it a score.
  • All the scores will be 9s & 10s.

I was 0 for 3.

Are there server issues again today? I played this morning for a number of hours and things seemed fine. Disgustingly ugly but played fine.

Live had an authentication error for a few hours but Titanfall servers have been fine.

I have to agree about Telltale season passes. Between the comically long time between episodes, and having to sit and watch as episodes go free and the pass goes on sale again and again, they make for a horrible customer experience. I learned my lesson with Wolf of Mungus, I won't be buying one up front ever again.

I won't be buying TT season passes day one anymore either. It's better to wait for ep 2 to come out and get it on sale then.

Agreed on the season pass TTG stuff. Both games have been significantly cheaper before they're done. I've been doing this with Kickstarters too - the games go on sale cheaper than backer prices pretty often, and I'm in no huge hurry.

Remember when Telltale used to let you buy their games one at a time instead of forcing you to buy the season to get episode 1? Man those were the days.

I didn't have to buy the season to get episode 1. I've been buying them an episode at a time, anticipating the moment where I say "fuck these guys," and abandon the season in progress.

You buy them on console though and put up with the stuttering and shit. On PC they stopped doing a la carte with the most recent Sam and Max.

I'm enjoying them but their season passes aren't worth full price unless we need to play Ep1 day one.

Personally I feel the best things to come out of the past couple of weeks of P1P is Stewy realizing he's better off not buying everything TT makes blindly day 1 and Mike's new much improved HD appearance.

I do find it a little odd though that CJ hadn't realized to disable (or open up) his NAT.
