I think it's cool that there's a video podcast now, but the audio quality on the regular podcast taking a hit because of it kind of sucks.
This is really sad but true. Listened to the new episode this morning and the drop in audio quality is really noticeable.
It gets better after the break.
The reason is that Phil forgot to start his recording for the first half, so I had to use the audio from the YouTube video as the backup for the first segment instead of the cleaner audio from everyone's separate microphones.
The existence of the YouTube video version would normally have no effect on the audio version except in cases like this.
Yep, that was my fault. Sorry 'bout that.Okay good. I'm only about halfway through, so I'll check out the other half on the way home.
Yep, that was my fault. Sorry 'bout that.
If you people had Kickstarted a recording studio for us, this sort of thing wouldn't happen!

Why doesn't gaf have a jrpg? I don't want to play a game with a bunch of in-jokes and user names I'm not familiar with!
Good livestream this week. Unfortunately I missed Sewart's jammiesI ran to my screen as fast as I could but it was too late...
Does anyone have the Nintendo ID's of all the cool P1P guys who have a Wii U? I'll give them a follow
I enjoyed Sticker Star until I got stuck on a 'puzzle' or had trouble with a boss. Then I had to look at a FAQ which I hate doing, but especially towards the end of that game it becomes borderline mandatory.
wahhh what is happening?!
Ethan was a great guest - he's spot on about handheld / wii u gamepad gaming. It's awesome and how I spend most of my gaming times these days
I like him enough that I'll let the "Uncompromisingly hardcore" PR pitch in the beginning slide
Also, Phil can never be too close to the camera...
Can't believe Mike didn't burst out laughing there.
Going to listen to the new podcast tomorrow but is this weeks ep better audio quality than last weeks?
Because I love P1P because of the usual audio quality but since the google hangout thing it has been terrible.
You guys still record locally and edit it together later right?
Please don't tell me you guys are using the audio quality from google hangout![]()
Here's me answering that question:

Haha I'll take that as a 'yes'.Here's me answering that question:

Totally disagree. There's a difference between having to figure something out and needless trial and error game play. While I will admit that I have a lower tolerance for that sort of thing now that I'm in my twilight years, I still say Sticker Star relies on it way more than is reasonable.
I'm not asking that the game hold my hand. I'm just asking for some sort of hint. Any sort of hint that doesn't require me to fail first. If you give me some sort of subtle hint and then I fail, no biggie. Especially if it's done in such a way that I have an "a-ha!" moment in the aftermath that teaches me the sort of thing I should be looking for later in your game.
I'd say that there's a legacy issue here as well. The Paper Mario RPGs have always been more friendly than this. I'm not totally adverse to change (I love the lack of experience grinding and the sticker system, for example) but the whole thing is such a major gear change that it just doesn't feel like it belongs.
What? What? The new episode is up now.
Episode 329: Where There's Smoke...
This week! Special guest friend of the show Ethan Einhorn (also of Sega) joins the hosts for discussion of the week in games. Yes the audio is better than last week's (which was just the first segment - after that it was back to normal). That was only last week's episode and it was because Phil forgot to hit record (and, even if we'd been recording with Skype the audio on that part still would've been terrible). This week everything was recorded locally just as before.
We've done the last 4 episodes on Google+ Hangouts - the audio hasn't been bad on all of them, right?
So...Ethan credibility blown with this podcast?
I'm kind of wondering what everyone expected him to say.
If he said he hadn't played it Sega would have been pissed, if he said it was awful Sega would have been pissed, if he dodged the question Sega would be pissed and everyone would be pointing it out as proof that Sega knew about the game and Sega would be doubly pissed but because he said it was great (which is what his bosses want him to say) everyone else is pissed.
It's a No Win situation. Apart from the part where Ethan gets to keep his job.
Well if he played it and thought it was bad he could have just said nothing. I doubt Sega would have fired him for that.I'm kind of wondering what everyone expected him to say.
