The Player 1 Podcast Topic

Sounds eerily similar to the 4playerpodcast, which has been here since 2008.

P1P has been 'here' since 2006 so in the wise words of Mike Philips: fuck off.

Well don't really fuck off, I'm not a meanie like Mike. Give the show a try. You'll like it. But not the upcoming one this week or any previous episodes that have guests.

I've had nothing but issues with PSN and, specifically, anything to do with the network in GT6 for the past couple days. Anyone seeing anything similar?

Does GT6 report any issues with your NAT or bandwidth right now? Are they the same as always?

Check this and report if you get normal results. That way we know if it's on your end of their end. Other games working normally makes one think that it's on their end but it's not that simple.

Update for Kickstarter backers: looks like me, Phil, and Greg on the pod this week with, perhaps, some segments from CJ, live at the Vivid Video convention or whatever he's going to.

You joke, but it seems like podcasters have moved to Patreon now. Even The Geekbox has donors. lol

My smear campaign against CJ has succeeded. People can thank me by donating to my IndieGoGo.

I can't even get to that screen.

That was a great party game but it's definitely one of the ugliest games even for its time. What a blurry mess.
Yeah, plus the physics have that early 3D game feel to them. I had so much fun playing it with friends back in the day but I played some on the Wii VC and it really made me realize how clunky and archaic it actually was. Honestly I can't see a good reason to prefer it over most of the later games in the series other than nostalgia and getting tired of the genre.

Didn't Diddy Kong Racing have a shit framerate? I remember hating it for some reason when I was a kid, but I haven't played it since then.

But yeah, MK64 is pretty awful these days. I still don't understand the shit MK Wii gets. It's by far the best game in the series imo.

You guys should go back and play Mario Kart 64. Let's just say father time has not been kind to that one...

yeah the PS1/N64 era didn't age well at all

I'd say DS and 7 are easily the best

Discussing which was the second best kart racer after Crash Team Racing. How adorable

yousa funny

Mario Kart would get more love these days if Sonic Transformed didn't smear the MK series across the road.

MK8 looks to be pretty rad imo. the reason Sonic Racing gets that rep (again, imo) is because the better Mario Karts of recent have been on handhelds and MKWii was a giant turd sandwich. so the last good home console Mario Kart was on GCN

Maybe, I don't even think I knew what a frame rate was back then though.

I love SASRT but the physics feel like total garbage compared to MK. It's so floaty and feels like an awkward mix between a kart racer and F-Zero.

MK7's item spam ruins that game for me. The item limited communities help though.

yeah I think MK8 will hopefully be better with the item customization options and the fact that you can only have 1 item at a time even if they orbit you. that will take some getting used to but I think it's for the better, especially with 12 players at a time.

so Phil are you guys going to be talking about the Tomodachi Life Direct? because what in the actual fuck is this game?

What do those letters mean?

PS3 is the Sony PlayStation®3 Computer Entertainment System.

Putting it in a DMZ means your router will stay out of the PS3's business when it's doing network stuff. There should be a specific tutorial for your router on the internet (via Google), the gist of it is:

1) Give your PS3 a unique IP on your internal network (e.g. 192.168.1.44);

2) Configure your router so that the address 192.168.1.44 is a DMZ.

I did this not long ago with my 3DS... Complete game-changer, I really wish I had done it sooner. It's usually pretty easy to do too, depending on your router's firmware.

That worked! Thanks so much.

Shout out to GAF tech support on the next show!

First, that's a myth. Second, it was probably this post in this thread, given plenty of people on the first page got banned for threadshitting.
That's what they say, but why do some peoples avatars disappear when they get banned and others don't?

We'll see if he comes back I guess.

Dunno, but I'm pretty sure a mod said that. Disappearing avatars aren't a sign of perms.

Fake edit: Google-fu shows me this. The only question is whether you trust TDM lol
