I wasn't following this until I saw it posted in this thread. I find it pretty sad. Mike was right about the gaming media and twitter. Some people can't admit when they're wrong. I think we've seen it quite often.

I'm glad it's over with. Phil is a good man.
 
I only ever hear about Leigh Alexander because she's made a drunken embarrassment of herself on a podcast or gone crazy on Twitter. It's never anyone saying "hey, check out this insightful article".

The P1P misogyny is bad enough but lets not lose sight of Leigh's point - that Sonic needs to check his good game privilege. People only liked the genesis games due to institutionalized discrimination against better platformers like Rocket Knight and the snes Aladdin

It's somehow not surprising that Phil's favorite word - adorable - is also a trigger word for certain people. His second favorite word, Steamworlddig, is a trigger for me personally.

True that. I'm kinda interested to see content from him. It's been a while since I heard what he's up to.

In other news EA is adding microtransactions to Plants VS Zombies: Garden Warfare which isn't much of a surprise. Gonna be odd to hear CJ defend both Nintendo and EA in the same podcast in regards to microtransactions and DLC. But then I guess there's really no issue here so it's just the pairing that's odd.
 
Maybe not the appropriate place to post this, but I just wanted to say that over the past couple of days I've been playing Castle Doombad, and it's great.

Castle Doombad is a nice little game but gets boring faster than I had hoped it would. I blame CJ for that and the fact that he still hasn't figured out to give me my fucking Volgarr the Viking 2. That's all I ever ask of him and I'll even buy a Wii U to make him happy if it comes to that.

Man you really hated on Hearthstone, mik, but the jokes on you: that game is totally rad! I'm not surprised considering you hate board games, card games and fantasy games (as well as anything with an element of mirth to it), so I'm convinced you only played it just to troll people who like it and to be contrary.

Also I disagree with the sentiment that the only thing to talk about board games are the rules. With Hearthstone in particular, you can talk about the art of the cards, the overall presentation, the way you interact with others online, the F2P model, the upcoming single player content, etc. Also I think you're conveniently ignoring that much of the talk about video games is around mechanics. Hoisted by your own petard!
