The Player 1 Podcast Topic

I don't know if I described 2nd tier villains as shitty. My point is that I dont find them compelling enough to get all that excited. I still want to play the game, though.
That's cool! I suppose it's just a matter of Warner maybe not having that many proven yet untapped commodities to go to as far as Batman villains are concerned. If you look at Batman media it's usually the same few. Joker, Two Face, Riddler, you know the sorts. The Animated Series introduced a few more and they've been included in the games which is nice.

Deathstroke's the man though, that bro's getting pushed to the moon at the moment. Injustice, Arkham Origins and Arrow. THE YEAR OF SLADE.

Ha, finished AC3 this weekend as well and my thoughts mirror Mike's identically. Also took me around 30 hours over the course of this past year. Really looking forward to AC4 on PS4 now as well.

I'm really glad I decided to watch the video broadcast this time.

Also CJ is making it hard for me to skip Steamworld Dig. I'm really trying to limit my game spending this month :(

Come on CJ you can do better than 8000 steps a day. Look at me:

I shoot for 10K steps daily, but today I was busier than usual.

Pete's mic was way too low. I wanted to raise the volume but everyone else was way too loud if I did that.

I am a giant idiot is why. The mic that was going into the Google hangout was not the mic that was recording my file... that mic was about 3 feet away.

I suck. Thankfully I didn't talk much so hopefully it didn't ruin the show.

Yeah, I thought it sounded like you were using the computer mic on the Doddcast, too. There was a little bit of echo or something.

If it's any consolation, we always have to remind Greg that he's using his laptop mic, not his Snowball. :)

Joke's on you! I don't even OWN a (working) laptop!

Looking forward to listening this week! CJ's probably in full-blown insanity mode.

Yup, thanks for not being completely full of ridiculous shit. It was a treat to listen to.

At my Futureshop, they seemingly had no restrictions. I ended up with all 3 games for both 360 and PS3. There were guys who had gotten all 6 like that, walked across the street to the EB, traded them in, bought the cheapest trash titles they could and banked the rest of the trade-in as credit, walked back into Futureshop, etc. The guy was on his third trip through Futureshop when I was waiting in line with him. It was ridiculous.

Good show this week. I didn't listen last week due to the audio levels going bananas, so I was itching for a show. I listen to SOME podcasts and it was nice to hear a show that's hyped for the PS4 launch without getting too ridiculous. My brain will only want to accept so many PS4 impressions shows but you guys are on the list to listen to, and I'll toss most of the others aside.

Listening to the beginning of this episode, I'd love to see someone do a Reliable Sources type show on games media. Mike already subjects himself to every podcast and scrap of coverage on the internet, may as well shit on it for fun. It probably wouldn't work as a weekly show but as a monthly show I think there is a ton of real value. Like Shawn Elliott's navel gazing blog/insider discussion that ended up going nowhere.

True story: I've deliberated for years (literally, years) about doing a "Pod Soup" show where I play clips of the worst from the week of podcasting and then snark about them. It's always seemed both too labor-intensive and, oddly, too cynical for me to pull the trigger. But maybe a little five-minute segment could be fun.

Do it!

It'd probably be easier and more time-efficient to just grab tweets from "the industry" and rip em up.

I thought US Streetpass relays could store 6 passes each? 7 doesn't sound like much for an airport.

That sounds about right - I probably got about 5-6 of the same people on the way back through, but then got some extras each time as well.

Honestly that was my first thought, but put it aside because of the editing work it would require. I think doing a monthly show styled after Reliable Sources whereupon you act as a sort of overarching media ombudsmen would be fantastic.

These kids who take these jobs seem generally clueless and incredibly insular. They are poorly paid cheap PR twiddling their thumbs and making cow eyes and developers and publishers praying for a slightly better paying shitty PR job... and then bristle and whine if you call them out for particulars. Their superiors have zero interest in turning them into respectable media monkeys because the audience doesn't keep the lights on, the advertisers do. Maybe a focused show discussing and debating the way in which they do their jobs would open an eye or two or at least give a steady stream of intelligent discourse that would force some real self reflection instead of the narcissistic superficial navel gazing regularly practiced by Garnett and the like. I doubt it but hell it would at least be fun.

You seem to have a few unique skills that make you well suited for the endeavor; you're well spoken, can intelligently articulate an argument, seem to have zero regard for your own time and have an iron will that can withstand listening to people like Arthur Gies, Greg Miller and Adam Sessler on a weekly basis.

I was a little bummed that they could think of three things coming out on the 22th and didn't mention the best one of them. :(

I thought that was the one that started us talking about that date. I know of everything coming out that day, Tearaway is at the top of my list. And number two isn't even visible from there.

Hum, I thought only Zelda and Mario were mentioned.

edit: wait, you guys went from Zelda to Mario to Killer Instinct with no mention with Tearaway. Unsubscribing.

This thing should happen.
