Some good stuff here and a great starting reference list for rounding out your viewing if in the mood for action.

Top 10

1. Fury Road (obvious pick is obvious)
2. Kill Bill
3. Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon
4. The Raid
5. Exiled
6. The Bourne Ultimatum
7.Edge of Tomorrow
8. Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol
9. The Dark Knight (Remember when WB made better comic films than Marvel lol)
10. John Wick

Solid top 10. Some great picks at the link for the remaining 40.

Dark Knight as an action movie is kinda borderline to me, doesn't fit in with the others in that list at all.

Mad Max was the only possible no. 1.

I don't know what exiled is but number 8 is such a shit choice and they got the wrong Bourne in that top 10 too.

Definitely agree with 1.

Edit: johnnie to movie. I know what Im watching this week then.

borderline as an action movie? Did we watch the same movie?

Genre wise it plays more like a crime thriller or crime drama I think. And I mean compared to the others in that top 10 (minus Kill Bill which is also a weird choice) it seems like an entirely different genre.

Maybe action movie is a wider genre than it feels I dunno.

My reaction exactly.

Otherwise a fine top 10 at least. Dredd as low as 35 makes me sad though.

Plus the action in the batman movies is shit and probably the worst part.

Switch Back 9

a lot of my threads involve me fucking up somehow. Perhaps I'm a moron?
Dredd is a much better, more engaging and physical "action" movie than several on this list in the top ten. Boooooooourns!!!

Was getting caught part of your plan?
I love TDK with all of my heart, but not even I'm sure as to how it made to the top 10.

You can hate the plot or the acting, but you CANNOT hate the action. No movie has done it better.
Nah, both those were good.

People seem to have this idea that "More plot = better plot". Fury Road's plot was excellent because it was streamlined to the basic essentials while still leaving enough ends to provoke the imagination.

I literally have no problem with anything about it.
In my 2 times seeing it I just don't see what people thought was so special about the action.
Normally even if I don't like a popular movie I can still understand it.

I guess some of the quotable lines are what I enjoyed most about it.

Neither do I, I love that movie to death. I was just trying to prove a point that FR's action is objectively amazing.

I think what makes it amazing, other than just being shot incredibly well, is that they were almost all practical effects. Although my favorite shot in the movie does include CGI.

I love Fury Road to death, it's in my top 3. I might put the Raid at 1 personally. Close calls all around. Can't say I agree with this whole list though.

Good thing it is 21st century, otherwise I was going crazy at no Terminator 2. I showed my 8 year old cousin the movie a while back and he was still blown away by all the stunts and sheer action.

Combining kill bill feels like cheating.

The only one that jumped out at me was dark knight. It's a great movie but it's really not an action movie and the action is frankly the worst part of the movie. Batman begins was a better action movie.

Kill Bill vol. 1 had better action, but I thought vol. 2 was the better film overall. I know I am in the minority.

As for the list, of course Fury Road is #1, as it should be.

Woohoo, Johnnie To actually gets some recognition in the West, albeit on a website clickbait list

I'm not sure Exiled is his best work though. Probably the most action though.
