This is a weird hand that I probably played badly, but every place I could've really played different I probably would've lost more on. Thoughts? Unfortunately I'm at work so I don't have the exact hand history ready (and some details might be wrong):
$4+$0.40 Rush Poker tournament, 100/200 blinds. I'm chip leader, and on the button with about $21,000 with ~120 players left (27 pay). Since it's Rush I can't really have reliable stats on any of the opponents.
Preflop: UTG, the villain with about $17,000, limps in. Folded to me on the button. I have Kc Qs. I limp behind. SB folds and BB checks. Pot: $700.
Flop: Kd Qd x. Villain bets $700, I just call. SB folds. Pot: $2,100
Turn: Ad. Possible flush on board, and gutshot straight could've hit too. Villain bets $1,200. I raise to $3,500 to see where I'm at. Villain calls. Pot: $9,100.
River: Jx. Villain bets $1,000. I figure I'm probably beat here but I make a crying call in case of a complete bluff.
Villain shows
.
Thinking over it I probably could've taken it with a raise on the river but I'm a stupid nit so I just passived myself into only a slightly above average stack and an eventual 12th place finish.
On the other hand, who knows if he's one of the many players who overplays those hands and refuses to let them go under any circumstances. To him I probably have a flush if I raise river, but he may still want to see it to believe it. I still have roughly $14k left after the hand if I fold or call here, which at these blinds is completely playable (albeit dangerous given how fast blinds go up).

Yea that is about the field where I feel most comfortable. But I do the occassional Daily Dollar Tourney, the money is too tempting. The highest I got was around the 100 person mark. Was soo close to a double up but got a terrible bad beat.
I used to play the daily dollar alot, but the pace for me is really too slow. A double stack + normal blinds... it takes like 2 hours to reach the money, and if you last for 5 or 6 you still only make like $3.
I'm just not patient anymore, I guess.
Personally, my go-to tourneys are the $4+$0.40 Rush on demand SnGs and the monthly BLT on FTP.
I'll occasionally do the $10 sunday quarter million on Stars, but I don't like to do that because the players on Stars are significantly better than on FTP, and I think a good half the players just troll everybody by running the clock on literally every decision including preflop folds.

Speaking of Stars, I'd like to add some more admins to the GAF Series of Poker group so you guys don't have to rely on me to make private tourneys and whatnot. Send me a message if interested. Priority is going to go to the more active participants
