The RAM pricing crisis has only just started, Team Group GM warns — says problem will get worse in 2026 as DRAM and NAND prices double in one month

Everyone should chill with the memory rumors.
Truth is no one really knows how long the shortage will be and no one knows how it will affect the consumer side pricing.
Think about why the prices have went up right now (we're ~2 years into AI madness) and then about what will happen over the next several months.

Capitalism with regulations from the goverment not allowing corruption, monopoly, duopolu, cartels etc. to exist.

This.

Capitalism itself isn't the problem. Even "communist" nations like China have a capitalist economy. The issue is the lack of government regulation.

Yeah, I guess that's out of reach until economy collapses (similar to big depression). So far trajectory is that it's only going to get worse:

Truly depressing stuff. The best thing is that you can ask person from Poland, Japan and USA what are the worst problems they are facing, they will answer: "high cost of living, high rent prices, wages not keeping up with inflation". This shit is universal for top 20 or 30 world economies. And soon "Ai replacing my job" might be on that list. Future is so awesome...

Pretty great video on the state of and how we got here. I know a certain someone in real life who needs to see this video as it would better describe to him what I couldn't. He's sicko fan of a couple of people and a certain philosophy.

With all the shit that's happening, I said fuck it and ordered my new build today.

RTX 5080
Ryzen 7 9800X3D
64 Ram

Fuck this shit. I'm buying now while I still can, and aiming high so I don't have to worry for the next 5+ years minimum.

looking at same myself

does the speed of RAM make much difference

6000Hz should be the baseline.

Can't wait for AI to be either more efficient or the Chinese overlords to come up with cheaper RAM to combat these prices. People are getting priced out of their hobby at this current rate.

Dave and Jacob discuss the upcoming year in PC hardware. Everything from the RAMpocalypse (thanks, AI) and how that will affect PC gaming, to the next wave of releases including CPUs, GPUs and Valve's new hardware. We try our best to be positive, promise.

I want to hear about all of the most horrifying rumors where we're basically forced back to the stone age. And I'm not joking.

Next series will probably be the last of on premisse hw on PC.

Maybe AMD keep on apu business for zen7 but that is a big maybe.

For gpus both will quit(AMD and NVIDIA)

2030 we will have 2 options: cloud or apus for PC, can't see anything diff than that.

The revenue of 5-10 Million hardcore Pc players (see numbers of xx90, xx80 and xx70 ti on Steam survey) doesn't worth the investment.

ALL the rest of Steam players would go to cloud or apus really happy.

I could not imagine not being able to build a PC or parts/hardware. I don't want cloud PC's... Is this more of the you'll own nothing and like it camp?

I built my current build in 2024 with only 48GB of RAM. I think I'm fine, only gaming on 4070 Super.
