The real reason why Zelda: TP was delayed?

What do you think is the real reason why Zelda: TP was pushed back to TBA 2006? Their official explanation is C. Do you think that's the case?

A) EAD had to delay it since they realized a few months ago that they couldn't meet the holiday date.
B) Nintendo knew all along at E3 that they wouldn't be able to finish it in time for holidays, but didn't reveal it until months later to keep the hype going during E3.
C) EAD decided to add "incredible" (like more dungeons, fully OST etc?) new elements to the game, and therefore delay it for that case.
D) Nintendo decided to push it close to Revolution launch so they could milk sales for both systems. (with bonus Rev content?)
E) The game has secretley been pushed to Revolution only even though Nintendo has denied it numerous times.
F) C & D.
G) None of the above.

The "real reason" it was delayed is because Nintendo decided they will never rush another Zelda to market again.

They weren't happy with certain aspects of The Wind Waker and I think they want this one to not only match OoT but to surpass it and raise the bar.

H) There was something majorly & fundamentally not working right (horse mechanics? Wolf mechanics?) so Miyamoto stepped in and is now trying to set things right.

I think they could have released the game in 2005, if they were willing to cut back on things.

But they were not going to go that route after The Wind Waker.

Aonuma seems pretty adamant about that.

Hopefully Nintendo is as passionate about Mario Revolution.

I think Nintendo hoped for Zelda to be released for the holiday and aimed for that all along. But with all the added features, promises of more dungeons and a better Zelda game than WW was, they realised they were not going to make it.
So that would make it B and C. Could also be A and C but.. Who knows.

I) Orchestral score.
Man, I really hope so. The music used in the last couple of trailers was fantastic.

Plus it gives them time for any extra polish and/or dungeons/features the game may need while the score is being recorded anyway.

Win-win, I say. (Except for not getting to play it sooner.)

EDIT -

J) Iwata's always wanted to cancel Christmas and this seemed the best way.
Didn't you get the memo? Easter is the new Christmas.

L). Nintendo is disorganized. Still haven't installed Microsoft Office on thier computers, which help organizations and their employees transform information into impact.

There's a chance that it will be ported to the Revolution, but I'm always surprised by people being confident that's the reason... though never by who those people are... :P

I think they most likely ARE honing the game, though "amazing innovations" remain to be seen. The game could end up selling a great deal more on the GC, even in March, than it would if it were released as an early Rev title.

M) Nintendo realized that I would be buying a Tree Sitty this holiday season and didn't want to eat into my precious gaming budget. They thoughtfully moved the game to the summer months next year when nothing much will likely be coming out.

K) The game was never in development for the Gamecube. They simply announced a realistic Zelda game for the GC to keep the system relevent. It did it's job. Early next year they'll announce it has been "moved" to the Revolution, and they'll justify it by saying it needed the revolutionary features to e done justice to.

I think they delayed it because the Revolution isn't due out for another 8-10 months and they needed something significant for the GC to fill the gap.

It's not orchestral score. Kondo already admitted during the panel that they were doing some orchestral tracks, but the entire game wouldn't use it. During the Zelda showroom trailer (different than the one released) there were several BGM samples playing and most of them sounded really awesome.

The game just wasn't polished enough. That was the reason with Pikmin 2, and I surely believe a bigger game might fall victim as well.

:D *poof*
I know you're kidding, but considering they moved Majora's Mask up to launch against the PS2 (i.e., the most enormously hyped console in history), I'm guessing that's not it.

But all they did was move the gap.

As I've said before, had Nintendo released Zelda during the holidays, it would have cannablized potential DS sales. Nintendo is not fucking around with the PSP, and they want to maintain their handheld dominance, even at the cost of possibly a few million extra Zelda sales.

It's not been ported to Revolution - the game will be playable on both GameCube and Revolution. Whether it plays indentically on both consoles is a different matter...... :)

I would enjoy this greatly.
I would also enjoy that very much. VERY much.

It's become more and more obvious to me that music is EXTREMELY important to my experience. I would not have been as moved by Wander and the Colossus, for example, if the music had not been as powerful as it was. All of my favorite games ALSO have fantastic soundtracks. It isn't a requirement, but it can take a fantastic game and elevate it to such a level that it truly becomes an experience I'll never forget.

Wind Waker is a great game, but it left very little impact on me in the end. I found the soundtrack to be downright poor, most of the time. I believe the poor soundtrack resulted in a lesser experience. One of the only islands I really remember was the Dragon Roost island. Why? It had good music behind it.

another one could be - it wont do anything for cube marketshare anyway, and will sell no matter what the time of year is - so why not let mario kart and the DS take the christmas glory (where it needs to fight -some- growing PSP interest)

although i agree that they dont want to rush any more zeldas after celda

Winner! Better to have two big gaps than one huge. My guess is that the game is done and ready to ship.

Is EAD even releaseing a Cube game this year???

Do you mean that in the Video sense or the Game sense?
