Space Elevators are a possibility, at least in theory are they not ?

Sure. But it's not a short term thing. Scientists are still figuring out infrastructure, and labs around the world are still figuring out the best way to build the materials needed to make it. I think the earliest public guess I've seen is fifty years.

Space elevators would be cool. We would definately have to have that if we begin to mine natural resources from the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter. The elevators would be used for going back and forth between the permanent space station and the Earth.

We will have to have that if we continue with the overpopulation problem and consuming our resources thereby. I think it's interesting that women in N.A.S.A. were speaking out and saying that they would volunteer to go to Mars.

Definately interesting. Hmmmm . . .

So why can't the fucking Russians pick up the ball and help out with the ISS with their Buran? Why do we have to do all the work?

The buran isn't equipped for manned flights and has been dismantled over the last decade. If you think NASA's in the pits, money wise, the Russian program broke through the pit into hell.

Too bad, the Buran looks like an updated version of the NASA shuttle.

Cause it's sitting in a park somewhere rusting.

sitting in a park in AUSTRALIA, after some swedes fucked it up in Gotenburg.
Yeahyeahyeah, it never left the boat in Gothenburg and you know it. Hehe. And that was "only" one of the test vehicles, the aero test one. Which could lift off independently!

Swedes can SWIM you know. i have never seen an australian vandalise anything, but i had seen a swede piss on his own bed.

make of that what you will...Science-boy!

I must admit. I was one of the people responsible for some damage on it while it was in sweden. No worse than poking a hole in a bus-seat with a knife, I thought at the time. Not so, I've learned over time. Very shameful. :(

As far as I know, Russians did kept the ISS up and running all alone for the past year or so, while US had shuttles grounded.
