The Ridiculous Six (Adam Sandler) is the most-watched movie in the history of Netflix

I thought it was dumb that people doubted how smart Netflix was to have signed up Sandler. They have extensive data for every single customer -- they have a pretty good idea of what people want to watch. And still, people are questioning these numbers "Oh I bet they all turned it off after 10 minutes." No, they probably didn't.

That said, is "most-watched movie" really that big of a deal? Most movies that get put up on Netflix are years old by the time they arrive. It's not like this film was competing with Jurassic World or something.

Too many people fell in on the "lets see how shitty this new Sandler crap is."

Well, I didn't watch it, and will never watch it.

It makes sense considering the fact that the only place you can watch it is on Netflix. They've put out two movies like this, and this was the first with big name stars.

Just wait until more exclusive films hit Netflix, something will pass it. Maybe.

i've been begging for over 5 years.
I keep passing it by on Netflix while noting the 1 star review. It's incredible that it's been hate watched so much.

I've watched it in chunks
Every time the movie makes me cringe I go Fuck this, but for some reason I keep going back to see if there's anymore cringe, I'm hate watching this...

I just want it out of my list, no red bar telling me I haven't finished it...
I'm up to 3/4ths done but this has been 2 week process

I clean it out by watching a few episodes of The Twilight Zone
Watching all 156 for the first time, up to episode 9
Will watch season 4 on July, so will get the whole series marathon done

That's what you guys get for laughing at the Sandler deal in the first place. Netflix had the data to back up their choice. Netflix purchases every film The Asylum puts out as well, so there are obviously a large number of subscribers who eat up shitty films.

Also, this isn't too surprising given how few Netflix exclusive films we have had to date.

I mean The Interview is the really the only competition in original Netflix movies, but that's still kinda tragic.

Isn't this supposed to be one of the worst movies of all time?

Not even close, and that's an objective truth. Don't believe the GAF hyperbole. Is it a good movie? Maybe not. Is it the worst movie of all time? That's just stupid and asinine.

I watched the movie and it's whatever.

I don't think this movie becomes the most popular watched in Netflix history by people "ironically" watching it.

Adam Sandler is popular.

We know this.

I can proudly boast that I didn't support this. My friend was watching this and said I should check it out. I'm like nope I'll wait for the ripoff the h8ful 8😏

It wasn't that bad. There were like 2 really good jokes and it had a lot of talented comedic supporting actors picking up the slack. I wouldn't watch it again but it was somewhat entertaining.

How dare you compare Asylum to Sandler... the Asylum are continuing the proud tradition of Hammer Horror, Full Moon Studios and Joe Bob Briggs

pretty sure that several of us here on GAF have mentioned time and time again that Netflix has the data. they know what people watch. they gave Sandler that money because they knew what their customers watch.

i haven't watched it and .. ugh ... now i feel like i have to and see just how awful it is.

I laughed during the five minute segment I decided to watch. This was the scene, really fucking stupid, but it got me to laugh.

It's funny seeing people get upset over this news and at the same time celebrate a merchandising advertisement becoming the highest grossing domestic film of all time.

I watched it. All of it. Had a few legit funny scenes. Wasn't awful. Also wasn't what I'd call Sandler-good(Wedding Singer, 50 First Dates, Happy Gilmore). But if it makes people this upset, I'll gladly watch again, because there's no better salt than salt generated from something so completely meaningless.
