I seriously cannot wait to see it. I'm hoping to get to see it on Friday but I have so much I want to do this week and I have to wait until I'm done with all of my finals (last one on Wednesday). I'm going to NYC for a couple of days for Spring Break, so I'll probably see it next week, if not Friday.

This movie ranks #1 on my Must See In 2005 list. :) I absolutely loved the first one, and I have high expectations for the next.

So both haters (even though they'll see it anyway :)) and lovers alike can express their anticipation or antipathy for this movie.

Can't wait for it, I got the Special Edition DVD of "The Ring" the other day, complete with mini movie "Rings" that shows the lead up to "The Ring Two". It's awesome, can't wait for the movie now, but we have to wait till April 1st over here :(

You also get a free movie ticket in the Special Edition version. :)

Watched the Japanese Ring 2. And it sucked!

Hope they dont base it on that POS, Ring Western version was brilliant. Cannot wait for this

It's not based on "Ring 2" and the same writer from "The Ring" is back on board, so fingers crossed!

Edit: Well that's not entirely true about "Ring 2" I guess...
One scene from Ring 2 will be in The Ring Two - the well chase scene, apparently done much better this time around, although it wouldn't be hard!

Is that the only scene that's being lifted from the Japanese version? I liked the part when
the video tape kept looping when that guy is watching the interview on the tape...that shit freaked me out

I keep seeing ads on TV and all I can think about is Dark Water. I swear, more than a few scenes have been lifted by that. By the time the English remake of Dark Water comes out, people will think it's ripping off The Ring Two.

The whole thing is bizarre as hell with Nakata having already directed Ringu, Ringu 2 and Dark Water, now he's directing the sequel to the remake to Ringu... and it blatantly samples from his previous works. It's like all these movies are involved in one giant incestuous relationship spawning all kinds of bastard children.

The "Western" Ring was brilliant? I thought it was a terribly predictable and tedious attempt at horror, a complete hack-job.

I have a feeling this'll take the route that every other sequel made (except for the rare few) seem to take, in that it'll blow hard.

It's like my man Charles Barkley says: "I could be wrong, but I doubt it."

What exactly is "Rings" about?

It shows how the tape has become some kind of cult phenomenon, people are setting up these things called "Rings" where someone will try and get as close to the seven days as possible, recording what they see and experience along the way, then when they can't handle it anymore, they show their copy to the next person in the ring.
It follows a character who dies near the beginning of the film, you can see him in a few of the trailers for the film.

The "Rings" feature was done really well, it kept the same vibe as the previous film plus the awesome musical score is back :)

I thought it was way better than the usual class of horror film, you might prefer The Ring Two though, I hear it's less psychological and more "full on" horror.

I saw a preview the other day,and I coulda swore the male character played in a bunch of Disney Original Movies :lol

Oh, mark me down as one who didn't see the big deal with the first :P

I really liked The Ring, but I'm weary of this one. The teaser was excellent...but the trailer wasn't. I don't like the fact that the little kid has a more important role this time, he was like my most hated character of the original. :p

god it really sounds like they are basing it on the japanese Ring 2.

The japanese Ring 2 SUCKED INCREDIBLY. Just to spoil it for everyone, the main character from Ring 1 GETS RUN OVER BY A CAR for NO REASON AT ALL. And her ex's girlfriend was the main character in Ring 2, which was pretty stupid too.

How many times does it need to be said? THE RING TWO IS NOT BASED ON RING 2. There's one scene from Ring 2, one scene and it isn't taken from any major aspect of Ring 2's plot. Ok?

I don't think that part is in it, but yeah, that was probably the most scary part of Ring 2. There's something sort of similar to it in the Rings feature I talked about though.

You're both immune to greatness. :)

Um.. hardly. I guess I just didn't see what the big deal was. Perhaps 25 years of thousands of movies has dulled my senses. I just didn't get what was supposed to make this a "good" movie. Seemed dull and pointless.
