Pedro's a free agent, so if he leaves it'll be his own decision. As for Manny, had they lost to the Yankees, i think they might have seriously explored that, maybe free up some money to sign Beltran and shanke things up. But now that they won it all (and Manny won WS MVP) he's probably staying put. Manny makes like $22 million a year, very few teams can take on that kind of salary.

I go to BU (boston u) which is a block away from fenway and i can literally see kenmore square from my room and i hid out about a mile away not wanting to see the riots.
Fuckers. theyre allowed one a century. No more, no less.

Yankees fo life.

I seriously considered transfering twice this semester. Last night, and last week. Sigh...I fucking hate boston fans. I hate this town.

edit:

Wasnt there last night, but from what i hear the riot wasnt as hardcore as when they won against the yankees.
Security was so beefed up that the whole crowd got pushed back about half mile down commonwealth near my building within 30 minutes of when it started and 5 helicopters were goin round kenmore.

anyone else find it funny that the 1918 sox won a world series and then traded babe ruth, and the 2004 sox won a world series and might trade pedro or manny?

Sox put Manny on waivers before the start of the season and no one touched him. If teams wouldn't take him for just $$, I doubt they would part with both $$ AND players for him.

Oh, and congrats Sox!! I'm from Boston and a big fan (I haven't posted in this thread in fear of something I said blowing up in my face). It will be so sweet to have them raise the World Series Banner in front of the Yankees during Opening Day at Fenway!!

Yea pollo it was pretty crazy, but it was probably crazier after they beat the Yankees. I couldn't bring myself to go to that one though. I was in the crowd that got completely pushed back by like a billion cops.

Yeah it'll be cool when they raise their 1 banner in front of the Yankees. What would be really awesome is if if every Yankee comes draped in one of their 26, and Jeter tells Manny to run and get his fuckin shine box.

I kid I kid. It's been a miserable Yankee season. Congrats Bosox fans, enjoy the winter.

this is the greatest moment in boston sports history. i am so glad for all the older generation sox fans that finally got to see their team take it all, especially for my 83 year old grandfather. this win will change the city forever. i cant really put my own feelings into words yet since i am still in a state of shock. the red sox hardly ever sweep regular season series against the devil rays, so the thought of them sweeping out the cardinals in the world series is unfathomable.

billy buckner is going to have a great night of sleep tonight.

Bill Buckner's name has been brought up a lot now that the Red Sox have finally won a World Series championship after an 86-year drought.

But after becoming the whipping boy of the Red Sox nation over a crucial error in Boston's last trip to the World Series in 1986, Buckner doesn't want anyone saying he's now "forgiven" for his mistake.

"I don't want to bring a downer on the whole situation because I'm very happy for the Boston Red Sox ... and they certainly deserved to win the World Series this year." Buckner said on Sporting News Radio's James Brown Show.

"I'm just a little disappointed with the whole thing. This whole thing about being forgiven and clearing my name, you know, I mean ... cleared from what? What did I do wrong? It's almost like being in prison for 30 years and then they come up with a DNA test to prove that you weren't guilty.

"I've gone through a lot of, what I feel, undeserved bad situations for myself and my family over a long period of time, and for someone to come up to me and say, 'Hey, you're forgiven.' I mean, it just kind of brings a really bad taste in my mouth."

There has been talk in some circles of trying to include Buckner in this year's victory celebration, but Buckner made it clear where he stood on that notion.

"Not a chance. Not a chance," Buckner said. "There are a lot of great people in New England and great fans, and obviously they're very passionate about their team. This is their championship; this is what they did, and I'm happy for them. But my team in '86 didn't win and this team did."

The James Brown Show airs nationally on Sporting News Radio weekdays from 10 a.m.-noon ET.

Buckner respect +1. Good that he's not just sitting taking douchebaggery without doing something about it. Imagine some schlup coming up to you in the supermarket, NOW, saying, 'You're forgiven.'

'EH, FUCK YOU BUDDY. I DIDN'T ASK YOU'RE FUCKIN OPINION!'
