You can start by telling me what in the blue hell "Attack of the Show" even friggin' MEANS. Somebody obviously came up with the name, pitched it, and got a favorable response for a reason. I'd just like to know what kind of thought process, if any, went into that.kpereira said:As for Attack of the Show:
We knew everyone was going to “hate” the new name, just as most people hate any change (good or bad); but at least give the new show treatment a chance before dismissing it entirely.

ManaByte said:I think most people don't like Kevin P on the show because they disagree with some of his opinions. Just look at the G4 forums back in the Pulse days when he said ANYTHING about Nintendo.
The Shadow said:If that was true, you'd think more people would rag on X-Play. It seems like they blast the GameCube a lot, more so than Kevin P or Tommy that I've seen anyway. A week or two back they had an animation with "Capcom" on a parachute and "Gamecube" on some guy that was falling.
ManaByte said:I don't think they actually hear what X-Play says, since the kiddies are too busy staring at Morgan Webb.

MattKeil said:We do make the occasional comment on the state of the proverbial Nintendo union, but it's not hatred or anti-Nintendo sentiment. It's more like cuffing the ears of the student you know isn't doing as well as he could be.
That "Capcom/Gamecube" parachute thing was mine, BTW, in the GTA:SA review. It was a double-meaning, in the sense that if it were truly anti-Gamecube, I would have had the plane on fire. So either Capcom's getting out before they're doomed, or they're bailing out of a perfectly good plane.
Also, it was a vague reference to the "BAIL OUT!" running gag on GAF, but I don't think anyone actually caught that.
Priz said:Not that I don't enjoy Kevin P's antics. Ran to him briefly before the Microsoft thing at the GDC. The day before, they even featured SPACED (which I tried so hard to bring here back in 2001... sigh...)
ManaByte said:Lucasfilm will never allow Spaced to air in the US.
The Shadow said:My post wasn't an accusatory finger pointing. I was mearly pointing out the rather sensitive nature of some of the Nintendo fans that frequent this board and the general trend of "hatred" toward guys like Tommy Talarico because of supposed anti-Nintendo sentiment. In any case, of the things that have been said regarding Nintendo, I thought X-Play was more brazen about Nintendo and their current state than the other two guys mentioned.
Don't mind me. I actually thought that was kind of funny and interestingly enough, I was reminded of the whole "bail out" fad at GA when I saw it. I think if someone were to make an image macro of it and use it here though, they'd likely be roasted.![]()

Priz said:a> This was 2001, back when we were trying to get it on PBS.
b> We were beaten to the rights by Bravo Canada who bought the North American rights in a 4 year exclusive. Bravo TV in the US is different management, but the same parent company (and so they had the rights). They had no idea what they had, and after much work by Nick Lee, myself, and a handful of other people, they finally aired the entire series TWICE on US TV in 2002.
c> With the release of "Shaun of the Dead", now people know about SPACED and because it's all NBC/Universal at the helm, they aired the series again (the same Bravo edited version for language) 2-3 times starting around the week the film released in theaters on Trio (Channel 315 on DirecTV at the time). After SDCC, we gave the entire history we had (of the rights and such, and every contact name we'd acquired at the time) to Focus/Rogue to put that broadcast in motion. I should e-mail Erin to ask to see if they're doing anything special for the DVD release of Orgazmo at the end of the month.
The stuff they're talking about is for a US DVD release. Thanks for playing, Mana.

The entire team is quite proud of the new graphics/set treatment, and weÂ’re all really excited to show it off on the 28th.

He also only has one post ever on GAF and hasn't posted ever again so you establish that he is the real deal how exactly?

OpinionatedCyborg said:Just because Kevin Pereira isn't an immobile Everquest nerd with hair to his ass doesn't mean he's a shitty host. The guy's quick, he knows what he's talking about, and he's occassionally funny in a Conan O'Brien sort of way. Annoying? Sure, there are times when his bad jokes and Sarah's perkiness form to create a wave of annoyingness with a huge amplitude, but he's probably the best aspect about the show. As I said in the other thread, if you're gonna bitch about TSS, focus your hatred at Brendan who sucks complete ass.
Oh, and
TSS > X Play

bobble said:Wow I haven't watched TSS in a long time... isn't Kevin P off of that one news show on G4? Shoot, that might not be on anymore either. PULSE! Thats the name of it.
The only show I seem to watch on G4 is Icons from time to time![]()
teruterubozu said:Forget the name of the show - what does G4 mean?
HokieJoe said:Yep. G4 just doesn't seem to have a vision of what they want to be. Besides that, they dumped, or let go, that heavenly vision- Sumi Das.
