Nice to see when a film that actually respects its core audience and does well by them, does well enough to net a sequel. Hope the rest of Hollywood is taking notes.

If they keep it sober like the Genesis (Megadrive) games to just Tails then Knuckles later. That's fine.
But if they go full blown Sonic Adventure 1 & 2, then it will be overkill

People fail to realize that no good deed goes unpunished. This movie went back into post production to redo sonic but it also increased the budget, killed a CG studio in the process and the movie was pushed back. People aren't looking at the big picture this movie was only in theatres for a month then shutdown because covid but its worse the movie was never released in some foreign markets because the delay. So if this movie released in the previous state it would have likely done about the same box office if not more because of international markets. Sometimes the universe is a cruel mistress.

Let's hope SEGA learns from this that Sonic needs to call the fuck down in games instead of only one format of constant running and time attacks that are extremely boring. Even old SEGA consoles had Sonic solving puzzles and so and those speedy runs were far in between to give you a rewarding satisfaction feel.
