Thats the case almost everywhere on the internet barring forums explicitly dedicated to anime and tons of places where anime just doesn't even come up as a topic or anything. Its dumb & wrong but we shouldn't treat this as if it was GAF exclusive. Another issue is the treatment of japanese games in which people dismiss them as being "anime". I once said that word has lost all meaning cause very very few games are actually based upon an anime and also follow said animes story. Games based off anime traditionally follow their own seperate story which imo makes 'em their own thing an thus not an "anime game".
