Aaron Greenturd? 4k native won't exist unless you are playing games like Witchbrook.
Now you are playing with another underpowered console that is going to primarily color within the 1080p lines.
Panel size on a switch 2 would be tiny i.e pointlessI don't trust Kotaku but going back about battery why can't they have solar technology? Solar technology today is good, even the lights inside our homes are enough to charge it. Good thing about Sony they already patent a solar powered Dual sense controller.
OLED consumers more power than LCD at higher brightnesses it is not overall better battery life wise but there are moments like imagine when a section of the screen is dark which allows the OLED display to fully turn off the pixels in that region where OLED wins in power consumption, there's also certain low brightness scenarios where OLED winsLet us not forget it was the OLED screen that really provided some OOMPH to the battery life. So, yes, a Switch 2 OLED is in my future, too.
I know.... how is this even possible. You're telling me a system that is 10X more powerful draws more power? noooooo.
Yes I am very surprised too with the amount of salty gaffers on here. Guess they are far too busy complaining about everrything else.Surprised this isn't get talked about more. 2 hours is pitiful, hopefully that's only for games targeting 120fps.
Over the last 40 years there has been massive improvements in batteries.I doubt I'll see a battery tech breakthrough in my lifetime.
You must pay for Nintendo being cheap while charging you a lot of money staying on an 8 nm node and not 5 nm or better…1080p screen 4 k outputs 60 fps you must pay to play with power

Maybe going from 20 nm to a modern process gives people the idea that power consumption can be kept in check… but then Nintendo went in mid 2025 for 8 nm so wellYou're telling me a system that is 10X more powerful draws more power? noooooo.
They say about ~2 when for the OG Switch they said ~2.5 so… maybe some unlucky sod will average 1.5 h or so playing some launch game…uh, that's not worse than the original Switch. I got about 2h of battery when I played Breath of the Wild at launch.
You're telling me they had like 8 years to develop a bigger battery and software that helps with battery life. Nice hand wavingYou're telling me a system that is 10X more powerful draws more power? noooooo.
