Digital Foundry: Apex Legends Switch 2 comparison to Series S and original Switch

What are they smiling so much about.. Dude in the middle even hates covering switch and consoles in general lol
every single DF video:

I never knew it was on Switch.
Watching it, I think maybe it shouldn't be, that's blurry as fuck.
Serious. The Vaseline IQ is one thing, the draw distance is what really made it a pointless port though. Cross play with other consoles when you can't see an enemy if they are more than 50m away.

My crowning achievement this year is getting 1 victory on the Switch version with cross play enabled.

Yes totally genius of them to launch with outdated hardware and then wait 100 years for the next generation.
I have seen this weird justification of Switch having the best mobile GPU for the time, when it released. In fact, it was far behind the Snapdragon SoCs of that time. Nvidia had a flop tegra soc that no mobile phone manufacturers wanted and Nintendo wanted a cheap mobile soc. A match made in heaven for the penny pinchers but it was a seriously mediocre soc on release.

Every DF video covering a game is 99% crap practically no one cares about (e.g. mesh quality, 100x zoomed in texture sharpness) and 1% useful information (i.e. frame time stutter, console resolution and FPS, etc.). When I "watch" these videos I'm skipping around to find FPS and resolution.

They also often get hung up on the most insignificant of things. Bunch of nerds.

Only the Snapdragon 821 had a better GPU and not by much, and that only came to phones in late 2016, so probably too late for Nintendo to put in a console.

At the time they picked the SoC the X1 was the best mobile GPU in an SoC, even the heavily down locked variant in the Switch.

that last part needs to he emphasised. the X1 was on par with the best Qualcomm had to offer, WHILE BEING DOWN CLOCKED LIKE CRAZY! at full tilt it completely destroys the best Snapdragon at the time.
