Yep. Poor and in debt. I've spent a couple of hundred dollars already and am not totally done yet. I love and hate this season all at the same time. So much stress, so many people to think about and worrying about missing somebody, and so much money to spend. Not to mention not knowing what the heck to get my parents. (Probably chocolate because I suck for ideas right now) Weee! Thank you Visa! I am currently -$400(+) overall. Something like that anyways. I can't be the only one who's been made poor by Christmas though...right? :(

It happens every month, but this month it happened a lot faster... (rassle fassle.. farkin work nights out, buying shit for people... BAH!)

Balance: -£1400

It's a good job that's 0% interest for a few more years. I gotta start paying off fast..

my parents gave me a $1000 to tool around with for christmas presents. that's on top of what's already in my bank account, so i'm all good.

I'm always amazed at how much people shop and spend during christmas holidays here. It's like a God has put a glowing sign on a sky that reads "SPEND MORE" :lol

Was it always like that in the US and Canada?

Yeah, this season really blows. I honestly wish I could make an agreement with my family that I won't buy them anything and they won't buy me anything. Sadly, I don't think it would fly.

Boned nine ways to Tuesday! THANKS RELATIONS WHO WANT EXPENSIVE SHIT.

Actually, no debt per se, just a massively drained checking account and a painful dip into savings.

I'm terrible, I find that since I'm buying shit for other people I buy more for myself. I'm usually pretty reserved all year long on splurging, but at xmas time I get out of control.

Ive spent way too much money. At least a few thousand so far, and I'm not done yet. Luckilly I'm not in debt, but the money I spent was supposed to go to a bathroom re-model on my house. Jesus christ I feel old now :lol

Same! I picked up WAY too much stuff for myself - books, DVDs, games - each time I go out shopping I see something I want that I'm sure nobody else will get me.

Thank God I don't have a credit card and couldn't get myself into debt if I wanted to. My bank account stands at about $1100, and my parents owe me over $1000.

I pretty much only had to get gifts for mom, dad, my two brothers and three girlfriends this holiday season so my bank account didn't suffer that much.

And even i am moderately surprised
some douchebag managed to steal my credit card details and clone my card, happily running around Japanese department stores and fashion outlets whilst i was in Italy.

Thank god i spotted it (although with over $4000 extra on the bill, it wasn't difficult).

I have 40 bucks left in my account to buy for my parents, my brothers, and a few friends. I have like 3-4 gifts I can wrap up, but considering the wealth of new information I received recently, I don't think some of those gifts would be appropriate for them anymore :) Problem with me is that when I go shopping, I always find stuff that I want to buy for myself. Rarely is it the case that I can easily shop for anyone, unless I'm making them a gift.

We've been pretty good this year. Called off the Christmas gifts with the siblings cause it was getting too expensive in past years. Add to the fact my wife and I just bought a house, and we have good reason to tell people "No expensive gifts, we're saving for the house"

The mortgage, well that's another fucking story... :(
